  1. This is my first time posting here so I'm not sure how it goes but I have size 22 dress pants, mainly from Lane Bryant that I can no longer fit. I do have some Petites but I think for the most part they are average in length.
  2. Normally with FSA you select an amount you want to allot for medical expenses during open enrollment. You then receive a card with that amount and you are allowed to use that for qualified medical expenses (Your surgery is covered). Then each paycheck an amount is taken pre-tax which over 26 pays should equal the amount you allotted into your FSA. I used my FSA to pay the deductible for my surgery and all I had to do was send in a copy of the receipt and the explanation of benefits.
  3. 3.5 cc's. I normally get stuck from not chewing thoroughly or if the food is too dry.
  4. I don't know how many times I've had "one" of something my daughter was snacking on and it ended up getting stuck an it's a miserable feeling. And you are so right, it's not worth the pain!
  5. I do not live alone and I didn't want to go cold turkey on changing everyone's eating habits because I made such a drastic change. So I've been finding healthy swaps but it's just as process like anything else
  6. Thank you for sharing this. Changing eating habits is such a big part of this. When I'm having a good week, I lose about 1.5-2lbs per week with no problem but then I fall back into the bad eating habits and sabotage the whole thing.
  7. If you have food demons like me, you may succumb to cravings a lot more than you want to. Everytime I fail (and I fail a lot), I just keep trying to make a better decision with the next meal and/or snack. So tonight I was craving these poptarts...the last pack in the cupboard. The box is going on two weeks old and I had 2 when they were first purchased and I was disappointed in myself because of that and had managed to stay away from them. So I go upstairs, I grab the pack, rip it open...and shoved it all into the garbage disposal!!! It felt really good. Good luck on your journey everyone!!
  8. I'm making spaghetti and meatballs, but I'll just be having meatballs and a salad. I hand made the meatballs and they are about 1oz of meat for each one.
  9. You can stomach plain Greek yogurt? Bless you. I like the yoplait Greek 100 calories. The key lime flavor only has 10g of carbs
  10. I'm at the point where my band is so tight in the mornings thay anything with texture normally gets stuck. I've been skipping or having yogurt.
  11. I use a similar calculator because I haven't found restriction yet and one cup of food does not satisfy me. I still aim to get the amount of Protein recommended and I still lose. I also don't eat anything with a calorie to protein ratio more than 20.
  12. The biggest problem I have with bread is that its dry. I can tolerate crackers but sandwiches and cake are a no go.
  13. Did they give you medication for that? If so, try taking it with a little applesauce. Warm water and lemon work well for nausea too.
  14. I never did protein shakes, I hated them. I had a flavorless powder and added it to applesauce, oatmeal or cream of wheat. I made protein jello using liquid protein and isopure drinks.
  15. I drink warm water or tea in the mornings before I eat. If I eat first things get stuck. I also drink right after meals because I'm thirsty. Not a full cup but I do take small sips.
  16. The lapband is designed to keep you full not restrict what you can eat. If you can eat 1 cup of food and not feel hungry for 3-4 hours after eating, then its doing its job.
  17. It really depends on weight. At my current weight I need about 2300 calories (based on height and weight) to maintain. When you're losing you're supposed to subtract 500, which leaves me right at 1800. I'm not in the "green zone" so that's the number of calories I aim for, but I have some restriction so, I can't eat that much but it's definately over 1200 and I have been losing still.
  18. How many carbs are you eating? Aim for less than 50g per day and you should lose in no time. 1800 does seem high to someone working out but if you're overloaded on carbs that could be a problem.
  19. Oh you can try to sweeten it with MILO (I think that's the name) instead of crystal light
  20. I love chobani champs, the very berry flavor. Actually I can do any of the flavored Greek yogurts but the less carbohydrates in it, the nastier it is LOL Try using it for dips. like mix it with ranch dressing seasoning or taco seasoning and eat with veggies.
  21. If you want to keep it a secret, then go right ahead but honestly reading some of your stories you guys just need to speak up. "I battle with my weight and when you speak ill of other overweight people is makes me upset and uncomfortable and I need you to stop" "Mom you're always negative about my attempts to lose weight so therefore i won't share my efforts with you until you can be a little bit more supportive. If you feel that's something you can't so then we won't discuss it" Not in those words but Christ don't let anyone put you down, make you feel bad or uncomfortable. I don't care who they are.
  22. Oh wow Toddy!! Thanks for the explanation!!
  23. Are you supposed to have a hard time throwing up with the band? If I eat something that doesn't agree with me, perhaps because it's too dry, I drink a big gulp of warm water and I'm able to vomit it back up. The only thing is I cant/won't stop vomitting until EVERYTHING that I just ate comes back up.
  24. I always drink warm water and throw it up
