  1. Congratulations! I'm glad things went well...good luck on your weight loss journey!
  2. I'm going for all my pre op stuff in the next two weeks. My Dr's office is hoping that we have everything for surgery to be on October 15th or 16th. I'm hoping for the 15th...lol. I'm 5'4, 257 lbs, with a BMI of 44. Eta: My name is Heather. I am 26 years old. I've been married to my best friend for over 7 years. We have two wonderful children, a daughter, who is 7 and a son, who is 6. We also have custody of my younger sister, who is 16. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats...needless to say, some days, it feels like we are running a circus, lol.
  3. You look sooo different! I'm so happy for you... Congratulations!
  4. You look so much healthier! It's crazy that you are only 2 weeks post op and you lost 50 lbs already .. Keep on keeping on...
  5. Congratulations!!! I had to move my appt because of scheduling conflicts... I'm looking at late September now. Best of luck!!! Let us know how it goes!!!
  6. You look amazing! Congratulations on your weight loss and good luck on your journey.
  7. That sounds awesome! Good luck with the experiments!
  8. I'm glad you finally got to go!!! That must've been uncomfortable. I'm still pre op, so I haven't been through this stuff yet... :/ lol
  9. I haven't even had my surgery yet, but that sounds like a really good idea. Idk how you could do that unless you used clear unflavored gelatin and used broth instead of water. Oh, or maybe you could make some broth-sicles, lol. You can get a set to make them at most dollar stores or Walmart.
  10. I don't have any kidney issues that I know of... but, that's awesome for everyone who it applies to!!!
  11. I'm sorry you had so much pain.. But, I'm glad they finally got it under control. Congrats on the surgery!! Happy healing vibes coming your way!!
  12. No advice, but I wanted to wish you luck!! Good luck!!!
  13. That sucks! I think they should all cover it. Thank you!
  14. I actually posted in the pre op forum too and someone sent me a link to the coverages. It looks like they will, but I'm going to call them anyway, just to make sure, lol. The insurance is through my husband's work and he said the only thing they don't have is infertility coverage...we know that for a fact, sadly. And, that's kinda cool about the bmi number.
  15. Oh, wow!!! That's crazy that you had to do all that, just to get approved. I'm glad you got it though! Congratulations and good luck!!
  16. Thanks! I didn't know whether they would or not since some still consider it experimental. The drs office said since I have a bmi of 46, that it will be easier to get approval. I hope they are right. I saw where some people are getting declined or having to do an appeal... that sounds so overwhelming to me... :/ Eta: I'm pretty sure they have different insurance than I do though. I was just hoping someone might know the answer of whether it was even possible for me.
  17. Sorry..I meant to quote you in the above response. I'm new to this app..and this site! Thanks again!
  18. From what I read, they do!!! The drs office told me that my bmi is 46... :/ I was worried because they told me that my insurance was good with rny approvals with my stats, but since at that point, I did not know anything about the sleeve, I had said that was what I was interested in. I have since done research and decided that the sleeve was a better option for me. Sorry for rambling and thanks so much for finding what I couldn't, lol!!!
  19. Do they cover the sleeve? TIA!
  20. I have a question... I have a consult set up with the bariatric surgeon for July 11th and when I initially talked to them, I was pretty sure that I wanted to go the RNY route. I have since done tons of research and realized that the sleeve would be best for me and my goals. I was told when I spoke with them that my insurance was pretty easy going and they typically get quick approvals for the RNY from them. I have Anthem BCBS. Does anyone know if they cover the sleeve as well? I am 5'4 and 270 lbs. They said my BMI was around 46. Thanks in advance!!!
