I am exactly 1 week out from surgery, and my stomach and back aches so bad. If I breathe in hard, if I swallow to hard, and I still have my drain in so I can sleep on one side of my body (I.e.side that aches). Sleeping on back causes more pain cause there is too much space between my butt and back and that causes discomfort. I'm not sure what I can do to get relief, my husband thinks I should take the pain medicine, but I'm not so sure that it will help this type of pain. Someone please tell me that is will pass soon, I really thought at one week out that I would feel better than this.

If your doc can give you the patch for nausea it makes a world of difference and it stays on for 3 days. I still had the zofran that melts under my tongue as a back up, but havent needed since 3 days after surgery

Kamarie- that sounds painful.... will sitting in hot water help it get well?

I was just sleeved last week, but I am looking forward to the skinny sex hubby and I had 10 years ago!!! Kudos to you and your hubby for getting in!!!

I'm a 10/24 sleeve too!! I am ready to get this dang on drain out, it's driving me crazy.......... Apparently as long as I have more than 50ml of out put per day it has to stay in., I have almost 3 times that..... Congrats to us all for having the courage to take the step of being sleeved

News flash!!!!! My mom bought me some cranberry juice, and it is absolutely the best thing since sliced bread!!! OMG It is getting rid of ALL THE GAS that the gas-x stripes are missing!!!! I know its tmi, but I haven't had this much relief since my surgery date without pain. I'm not sure if its the combination of the two, but its awesome......

My nurse called to check in with me today, and she said it sounded normal also just to keep clean gauze on it. Thank you both for responding, I will admit that I am having a hard time getting 64 oz of fluids down though. I almost have no desire to put anything in my mouth....

This is very life changing, and I know I had lots of anxiety all the way up to my surgery on 10/24. i will admit that I did trust my surgeon, and the staff (II was out patient). I agree with the other poster that you want too make sure you trust your surgeon, because they all have different views on the whole process. Here is a brief over view of how it was for me: Surgery - outpatient but i had a appt to follow up the next day for fluids as a precaution that he does for all his outpatient surgeries, not all his patients are allowed to have their surgery at the surgery center either (center was awesome) Pre op diet - very easy, for 2 weeks nothing fried, no carbonated beverages, increase Protein to 60-80 mg p/day including to shakes 2 days prior- clear fluids only 1 week post op- clear fluids only Had to have endoscopy , surgeon found hiatal hernia that her repaired during the surgery Funny thing that did happened, by the Time I had my surgery my CPAP was too big, so my surgeon made sure I got another one the next day after he tried to get it fit himself.

So..... I had my surgery 10/24 (Wednesday), and today when I got out the shower I changed the bandage over my drainage. Well this evening, I noticed that there was some lite-yellow-orange-Red ,color seeping through the gauze. Should I be concerned? I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind this thing anyways.....

I I had my surgery yesterday. Everything went well,. Has anyone experience d is blurred vision, has anyone else had this issue??

I didn't have to, and I asked. My veg is tomorrow......just liquids only

So. I found out today during my EGD that I have a hiatal hernia (small). Has anyone else had one, and did it have any effect on your surgery?

Maybe thats whty m not losing that much. I have 2 weeks if high protein and then 2 days of liquid......
