  1. I keep seeing people mention NUT. What is that? I have seen that on several threads. I also wanted to say that I can see your frustration with the appointments. When you are not satisfied with your doctor or physician's assistant' date=' you have a right to request for a different provider. When it comes to your time and your health, you have a right to receive quality service and not to have your time wasted on the provider talking about her personal life. I would have kindly stated that the purpose of my visit to accomplish a certain task. She literally took you and your husband's kindness for granted. I would ask for another person to attend to your case that is more professional. You as the consumer have a right to choose who you want manageing your health. I'm not referring to your insurance but the medical professionals that you have to deal with.

    I hope this helps!! :-)[/quote']

  2. Hi everyone. I had my "almost 3 week" post op yesterday. I am 19 days post op, to be exact.

Here are some updated pics, with the tape removed. The right side is still more swollen than the lift and has some leakage at incision sites, which is why the nipple looks a little distorted. However, you can see how things look without tape. Ruffling, swelling, and leakage will subside day by day. Swelling will take months to subside completely. My pain level went down considerably when the tape came off. I'm still quite sore and have a lot of zinging nerve pain. All in all I'm super pleased with the progress so far.

  3. Thank you SO SO SO much for posting this.

I just had my first consult with a plastic surgeon about a lift and a TT' date=' and he left me a bit confused on the lift part. Is a LIFT and a REDUCTION the same surgery? I'm a D or DD right now, but he said I could end up a C or B when all is said and done. So I'm taking that to mean that a lift is the SAME surgery as a reduction.

Can anyone clear that up for me?

Also he was pushing implants (which I DO NOT want) even though I'm done having kids and breastfed both of my girls, I don't want the worry/maintenance of implants. In fact if my choice was LEAVE THEM ALONE or DO IMPLANTS I would choose to leave them alone. That is how much I don't want implants.[/quote']

You should ask your Dr for clarification, but here is what I understand to be accurate from my experience. You can have just a lift, without a full reduction. However, in cutting and doing the lift, some tissue is removed/condensed so you get a little smaller, fuller, higher bust. My Dr cautioned me against implants as he felt I had enough nice breast tissue to get a full, good looking result without implants. I'm very pleased. A "lift only" is not the same as a reduction.

As for the stomach looking bigger, I don't really have that issue. I train everyday though and don't have much excess skin or belly fat at all. He left me very proportionate so that my whole body is very balanced.

  4. Hopefully everyone that has access to said images are 18 years or older because of the nature of them being "adult material." Otherwise' date=' VST could get into trouble with various advocacy groups out there that try and protect children from improper access.[/quote']

I imagine they would've taken it down if it was a problem.

  5. Have you considered wearing a strapless corset or longline bra? Maybe it would put less stress on your stiches' date=' and keep you snug like a binder? Do you wear ice packs when you are home on the couch? I don't know, I haven't had my plastics yet, I'm just throwing ideas out there :)[/quote']

Thanks for the ideas, but the Dr tells you exactly what kind of post surgical compression bra to wear and absolutely no boning or wires. Also, no ice as it impedes blood flow by restricting capillaries and you want to make sure to preserve blood flow to the nipples. So, I'm wearing my approved bra.

  6. Listen' date=' This is important for ALL to see. This is NOT porn, this is dealing with "post- weight loss" issues. While the guys will have different surgeries, this paints a picture that it is Serious surgery. My sisten had plastics after bypass many years ago and said the recovery from plastics was MUCH more intense than from the bypass! Thanks for posting![/quote']

I would agree that my sleeve recovery was less painful than this recovery.

  7. Thanks everyone for all of the feedback. I will post more pics once the tape and stitches are gone. I'm now 2 weeks post op and there's still a good deal of discomfort/pain. As the swelling starts to go down and the tissue softens, it's pulling on my stitches. Wearing a bra is uncomfortable, but not wearing one is worse. Super tired. However, I'm still very glad I did this. It just took a bigger toll on me than I expected.

  8. I wonder if you would mind posting again at say 3 or 4 months out' date=' so we could see what healing looks like? With some of the cost being covered by insurance, what were your total out of pocket costs? Did they Lipo any of the sides of your body or back? I would need the "tube" lipo'd, the side-boobage (you all know what I mean) and the bra back rolls otherwise I would end up with the wings a previous poster mentioned. I would want a reduction and lift, AND have them fluffed out a little with some fat harvested from lipo'd areas![/quote']

I will be happy to post again in a few months. Insurance paid all of the costs. I only had to pay a prescription co-pay for my meds, so about 15 dollars out of pocket. My Dr doesn't do the lipo with the reduction. He feels the surgery already pushes outpatient limits and suggested lipo later if need be. His excellent work left me with zero side boob and my back fat/roll went away with my weight loss. I would love to lipo right over my belly button though. I'm glad he didn't do lipo because from what I've read on the breast reduction forums, it adds a ton of pain to the recovery.

  9. Thanks for posting these pictures. It's so helpful to actually see them! I wish there was a way for me to have a reduction/lift done without it impacting my ability to breastfeed. My breasts are so flat and low I think it will make it hard to breastfeed. I don't really care about them not being firm, but positioning will be difficult.

I had the same concern about breast feeding, which is why I waited until now to do it. I wish I hadn't waited though. I still have not had children, and my PS told me that many women who have this surgery can still breast feed, although there's no guarantee. They don't remove the nipple anymore, so there's a higher chance of breast feeding being possible. I decided not to wait any longer based on kids I may or may not have one day. But, I'm older than you and completely understand why you're holding off.

  10. I had this done to about 6 years ago. Its so liberating being able to make bra wearing optional at least around the house and once in while out and about. My only problem was that the surgery left me with "wings" leading back to my arms where the surgery scars go almost to my armpit. its like a couple inches. of well fat. I hate it.

Have you thought about having the wings removed?

  11. What did your dr say about scarring? Congrats on all your success! You are one brave chic to post these' date=' you go, girl![/quote']

Scarring will be minimal 1 year from now. The nipple scar quickly fades into the color of the nipple, the vertical scar will fade to pale pink and the under the breast scar will be hidden. I went to realself.com and looked at lots of before pictures. The scarring didn't seem bad at all. Even if it was bad though, I would still do this. SO worth it already.

  12. I had reduction when I was 20. Back then I weighed about 135 and had to have my bras special made because they didn't make them in my size. My only regret was my surgeon butchered me and I lost a lot of my sensation. I am actually considering having them lifted sometime in the near future.

I believe sharing pictures like these are important' date=' it helps those considering the surgery to have a better idea of what to expect. Kudos to you for sharing.

Sent from my iPad using VST[/quote']

They were very clear that I could lose a lot of sensation, but that surgery has come a long way in the last decade and it was unlikely. I do have spotty numbness all over though. That can last some months. I was most worried about losing sensation in my nipples. Much to my relief, I have the exact opposite side effect; they are crazy sensitive to everything since surgery.

  13. Those babies are going to look fantastic once they are all healed up! I am super jealous! What size are you now? Thanks for sharing! It gives me something to look forward to one day. I was 44 DDD before I started and I know I need to get fitted because they are smaller' date=' but man are they sagging![/quote']

I'm supposedly a 34 full C once the swelling goes down. Right now I feel like a D.

  14. Thank you for sharing - you look great! Do you mind if I ask how you got your insurance company to pay for it?

I complained to my primary care about neck and back pain, and rashes. He took some pics and got a referral approved to a PS. Then the PS took measurements, pics, asked me tons of questions and then submitted for approval. I was so thrilled! It will take a few months for all the swelling to go away and to have a normal shape, but I'm already so pleased. Who knew I had a torso under there lol?

  15. I had my breast reduction and lift, insurance approved, last week. The surgery was 4.5 hours and outpatient. I was a 40 F before the sleeve and a 36 DDD before the reduction, after losing 75 lbs. The surgery wasn't too bad. There isn't as much pain as I thought but I'm so wiped out! I should've taken more than a week off work. I've posted some pics so that you can see what I week post op looks like. Not as gruesome as you'd think. I have a lot of swelling, especially laterally. That will take about 6 weeks to go away. I also posted two "before" shots. Although embarrassing, it was helpful to me to see other people's photos. Sorry that a couple are upside down. I have no clue how to fix that.
