    Protein Help?

I use Isopure protein liquid in the glass bottles. Poured over ice and diluted a bit. I find it tolerable.

    Day 12

I start soft food tomorrow, on day 14. Both family members who had this surgery couldn't do eggs for awhile either. Hang in there, it does get better.
  3. Woohoo! I'm 12 days post op and went to see my PCP yesterday to have my medications adjusted. He took me off of my blood pressure medicine and my cholesterol medicine, after 10 days of normal readings. I don't know how this happened so fast, but I'm so excited. On top of that great news, I'm feeling good and start soft foods on Monday. My energy level is back most of the way, and I'm ready to start exercising.

    Guys - Be Honest Please.

I never had to take any pain meds once home from hospital. Day 1 in hospital hurt, but was manageable and I walked a lot. The pain was from gas. Once home all I had to deal with was has pain, and it got better each day.
  5. You almost always weigh more from the fluid they pump in through your IV. They say to expect about 5lbs gain. You'll lose it all as soon as you're home.
  6. Doesn't it feel great? Congrats!
  7. If you subscribe to it then it stays for you to reference.
  8. When they have deals on the variety case, yes. Otherwise the prices always math the store.

    Jerks.

I'm thinking that since you're the one who had the surgery, it's not unreasonable that ou should be the one to excuse yourself, rather than expecting several others to change their routine for you. It's just the way it is for now, but not forever. Hang in there.

    Stop Loosing....need Help!

Sometimes you can break a stall by having a higher calorie day or treat to "trick" the body. The next few days, weight starts coming off again.

    2 Days Post Op

My surgeon said no protein for a week, just stay hydrated. Everything I drank only went down warm for 5 days, then it got better.

    Which Protein Drink

Isopure clear liquid protein from GNC. 40 grams per bottle!
  13. Hey there! I'm 12 days post op and love Isopure too. If you go to GNC website, the 12 pack variety case is buy one get one half off, and the shipping is only $4. Cheaper than getting them in the store. I just ordered 4 cases!

    Eating Discomfort

Could be a structure. Sounds like what my mom had. Easy enough to fix though.
  15. I'm finally feeling human on day 7...woohoo! I slept through the night for the first time with no stomach spasms or pain. 60 0z of fluid remains impossible for me to get in and I'm struggling with protein drinks of many different kinds, but trying my hardest. I've been off of pain meds since coming home from the hospital. I see my surgeon tomorrow. The best part? I'm down 11 lbs!! Only 70 to go lol! Looking forward to mushies on Monday the 20th. Today is the first day I've felt a little hungry for something.

    Question

You should have a week by week list from your Dr. If you don't, you should ask for one. My list says yogurt is ok once I'm on full liquids, which was day 3.

    Completely Given Up

I was told to expect an average weight loss of 1-3 lbs a week. Your average is 3+ lbs a week!!! I don't understand the problem? Cheer up...you're beating the average.

    Pudding & Yogurt Full Liquids?

Pudding and yogurt are one my full liquid list from my doctor.
  19. Try warm liquids. That made a world of difference for me!
  20. That's completely normal! I found that warm liquids greatly decreased the discomfort. I'm 7 days post op and have been living on warm herbal tea to get my 60 oz of liquid going.
  21. I bought the Isopure variety 12 pack from GNC on line. Since its see through and thin, it just goes down easier. I dilute mine with a bit of water and pour over ice.

    Water....

I'm a principal and if a teacher ever told me there was a medical reason to dodge a rule, I'd be ok with it in a heartbeat. Not to mention telling teachers they can't have a drink on their desk is grounds for a union complaint/grievance in my opinion. How ridiculous!!!

    Constipation

My Dr said that when you're that severely backed up, nothing you take orally will ever help. He said. Fleet enema is the best course of action. Good luck to you.
