Momma needs a new pair of tatas

I just had a breast reduction and lift. I considered implants, but had enough of my own tissue to create nice perky full C's without them. All was completely covered by my insurance. I'm one week post op and very pleased.
  3. Hi Everyone! Just wanted to check back in at 9 months post op to say life is FABULOUS! I had my sleeve in Aug 2012 and had a complication free experience. Aside from occasional nausea, I haven't experienced any real negative side effects. I work out 5 times a week with weights and cardio. I had a breast reduction and lift on Friday and I can't believe how amazing I feel. I started my journey at 5'6" 235 lbs. I'm now 160, with a goal weight of 145. I've attached updated pics, although they are pre breast reduction. So, now I look and feel slimmer. Anyhow, just wanted to share a positive, complication free experience. Dr. Mueller in San Diego is excellent! Good luck everyone! Oh and take your vitamins!!
  4. Hi There! I was a 40 E before my sleeve, and a 36 DDD last month, before my reduction. They were also very saggy and lopsided. So, I'm guessing once swelling goes down I am a 36 C now. Dr said maybe a D until I lose my last 15 lbs but I doubt I'm a D. I'm SO thrilled!! If you go to realself.com you can see tons of people's journeys and pics.
  5. Well, tomorrow's the big day. Breast reduction and lift. I had my sleeve done Aug 2012. I've lost 75 lbs and my bust has gone from a 40 E to a 34 DD. I'm super nervous but excited to have perky C's and fit into regular tops and clothes! Wish me luck!
  6. Home from surgery and it's really not that bad. I anticipated far more pain. Just tired and sore. Thanks everyone for the encouraging words.
  7. I am a slower loser. I had surgery on Aug 6 2012 and weighed 235 lbs at 5'6". I've lost 75lbs, and have 20 to go at 9 months post op.
  8. Here's a recent photo of me on my horse, which shows why I'm getting a reduction.

    Our Costs after insurance

I paid a $200 processing fee to my surgeon's office, and that was it!
  10. My Dr never had me crush my pills.

    When can we...

I was able to eat in a normal amount of time after about 4 months. However, my new normal is so much slower than before surgery. Eating fast hurts and causes problems. I've never waited 2 mins between bites though. I chew carefully and put the fork down between bites, and all is good.

    What about "the girls"?

I started my journey as a 40F. I'm now a 36 DDD and 20lbs from goal. I have a scheduled breast reduction and lift on May 10th. I plan to end my journey as a perky C.

    Better or worse than expected?

Much less than I could have imagined! Some soreness around incisions, but I never needed any meds other than Tylenol once home from the hospital.
  14. My surgeon just told me at my 6 month post op that in months 6-12 I can expect to lose about half as much as I lost the first 6 months IF I really crank up the cardio. So, time to start power walking hills and jogging to get these last 25 lbs off.
  15. I found that drinking all of my liquids warm helped a ton with gas and with getting them down. My sleeve didn't like anything cold for a couple of weeks.

Is there anything you cant eat?

Pasta and rice make my sleeve hurt. There aren't may things I don't tolerate, but there are things I no longer like post op such as really sweet treats, fried food, yogurt. My tastes changed. I'm 6 months post-op.
  17. I'm SO excited! I just got approved for a breast reduction and lift, fully paid for by my insurance. I'm a 34 DDD and cannot wait to be a conservative "C". I've wanted this for so long and now that I'm close to goal, it's time to do it! Surgery is set for early May and I should be within 15 lbs of goal by then! Would love to hear from any other ladies who've had the same thing done.

    Boobs?

In my weight loss from 235 to 170 so far, I've gone from a 40DDD to a 36 DD. In my experience, I won't get smaller cup size than DD. I have a breast reduction and lift scheduled for April, paid for by insurance. I had it scheduled last year, but then I decided to wait until after my sleeve. I've always wanted a reduction but the inability to breast feed afterwards deterred me. Now that I'm older, I just want great boobs back, and don't care as much about "if or when" I may have a baby one day. Good luck girls!

    Sparkling water?

My doctor said No carbonation, ever.

    An odd question

Our priest broke me off a small piece.
  21. Perfectly normal! I felt the same way. Walk around your house as much as you can and the gas pains will get better. Drinking my liquids warm really helped me too. Hang in there!
