How bad was having the drain, I will have mine for two weeks! Not looking forward to it!Good luck!!

OMG ya'll, I am having surgery in the morning!!! I am SO excited, I can't get to sleep! I have to be there at 5:30 am, which means I have to leave home at 4:30! Yikes, oh well! I might not sleep at all! Oh my word, this will be my true independance day!! They are going to chop 80% of my stomach off and yank it outta there! Whoo hoo!!!!! The only thing I am worried about is nausea and pain... mostly nausea... I know it will be worth it though, and a week from now I won't be thinking about nausea or pain, I'll be LOSING WEIGHT!! Holla!!! Can I get an AMEN? Wish me luck!!! I won't be able to post anything til I get back home. I have a regular old flip phone with no internet. I might do a video in the hospital, not sure... Whoop whoop, gonna be a LOSER by 11am tomorrow!! Take care ya'll, love you guys and love the support on this site!

Hey Lisa! How are you doing?? Do you mind if I ask why you had surgery in Mexico, and how much it was? I am self pay and it is outrageous here. I didn't do my research too well, because a lot of people are going to Mexico! you don't have to say, just curious. My mother in law gave me some of the money and then my mom gave me the rest, as part of my money from my grandmother's estate! Its going to end up taking ALL of my money from my grandmother, which makes me sad, but its the only way I could have this done! I have two little boys 3yrs and 4yrs old. Do you have kids? I live in Surfside Beach, which is right next to Myrtle Beach. I will be staying in McClellanville (which is a small town just north of Charleston) after surgery for two weeks because I have to stay close to the hospital. I will have a drain for two weeks. So how are you doing after surgery? Do you have a good support system? You seem to be losing weight, thats awesome!!! Great job!! Hope you are well!!! I have my surgery tomorrow, I am SO excited!! LOL Nursing38 "hooker boots"!! Hell yeah! I so badly want to wear dresses, short skirts and heels again!! I miss that! I want to dress up and look good! Feel pretty again! I'm ready ya'll, two days! Woot woot!!!

Wow ladies!! I hate you are all dealing with these issues, but I'm glad I'm not alone in this! The surgeon made me stop my plaquinil so my pain management dr increased my Loritab. I had to do blood work three times before surgery, (which is in two days!! woot woot!) I was scared he would test to see if I was still taking my plaquinil and cancel my surgery. that's the only reason I didn't keep taking it. But I probably could have!! I had a few days that were really bad with the pain, I couldn't move my hands and everything hurt! He said I could resume taking the meds about two weeks after surgery. I am just a little afraid that the stress of the surgery on my body will bring on a bad flare! For the most part I have been ok, don't want to say that too loudly, know what I mean?! Madintx, so glad you're doing ok after surgery!!! How is it going? I am most afraid of pain and nausea afterwards! The surgeon says he will keep it under control, but... you know how they all say that! I am really excited!! Hope ALL of you are doing ok, good luck!!! ShannonK, my sister, my friend! I am so happy to hear you are feeling a bit better! It will continue to get better and better as the days fly by! I heard a lot of people say they had diarrhea afterwards for a week or so, a lot of them attributed it to taking in so ,much liquid. Liquids in, liquids out kinda thing. I have no idea. I have my surgery on the 10th! I can't wait to join you on this journey!! So many of you are lucky. I will have a drain for two weeks and be on a liquid diet for two weeks, then I can move to mush! LOL It'll all be worth it in the end!!!

All I want to say is that if you have done your pre-op diet and followed it to the letter and lost weight Hooray for you!!! That is fantastic!! However, don't look down on people who are struggling! We are all in the same boat, and have, if not this time, then on some other diet, cheated! no one is perfect! The ONLY time you should look down on someone, is if you are leaning down to help them back up! We should cheer eachother on, encourage eachother, etc. But do not chastize!!! I am not naming any names, but I have seen negative comments on this site! We're all on this site to get help and support from people who are just like us! Please be kind people! Thank you!!

Oh no, So sorry you're in that much pain! I have my surgery on July 10th. I will go home with a drain and have it for two weeks! I'm in SC. I have heard from almost everyone that it is painful! Anywhere from uncomfortable, to VERY painful! Getting a little nervous!!!

LOL, loose skin!! So we end up looking like a melted candle stick!!! You would love ShannonK too, she is great, SO funny! Love her, you too!

Thanks ladies! I know what you mean MinaT, I gotta get it together! Have to keep my head in the game! Saying goodbye to Diet Coke has been hard!! I have to do better sipping water throughout the day!! I get busy with the kids and then I am suddenly very thirsty and then I gulp water! BAD BAD BAD! Lawd help me!

Liza. I am on the two meal replacement diet, and I cheated too!!! Almost everyone I have spoken to has cheated! I am at my moms, and she's in the kitchen cooking bacon and homemade muffins! I want some so bad but I'm not going to do it! I may have an egg though, and skip my cottage cheese and fruit! Its harder than I thought!!! And I thought I was really prepared and psyched up to do this! Its hard to change over night ya know! Don't beat yourself up, just start over and keep on going! Won't be long now!! My surgery is July 10th! So ready!!!

I know how being in pain feels! I have Lupis, and they made me come off of my Lupis meds very quickly, no time to ween. It is kicking my a@@!!!!! Looks like you're a mom too! Good thing we don't have time to be down for long!! Our kids need us, and we always seem to rally for them!

Well, I said I wasn't worried about anything, but getting nervous about the pain! I have my surgery on July 10th! I have to take pain meds already for my Lupis and I am worried about how they are going to control my pain, and how I am going to be able to keep the pain meds down because I take so much!!! Just curious... How much is surgery in Mexico, if you don't mind me asking? I am having surgery in Charleston SC, and am self pay. It costs 18,000!!

I am a recoverying alcoholic. I go to AA. I thought I would NEVER be able to stop drinking and druging until I finally made it to AA. It really saved my life. I am almost 6yrs clean and sober! I am using my AA program and our 12 steps to help me with this process as well. If I don't do the things I need to do, talk to other alcoholics, pray, follow the 12 steps (the program), I will get drunk again! Same for this If I don't stay in touch with my fellow sleevers (to help me be accountable) pray, and follow the program, I WILL gain weight again. OA Overeaters Annonymous has a great program! Even if you don't think you over eat nessisarily... they deal with all of the phychological issues that we face, I think I am going to start going to a few myself! They have meetings all over the country, I'm sure there's one near you. Just a suggestion. It really does help people!!! I have several friends who go!

Me too Brother!! My surgery is July 10th, I have my EDG on Jusy 5th! And I swear if I get that close and they have to push it back, I will freak out!!!
