  1. I was about 3 months out before mine began falling out. I ended up having to get it cut shorter....I have layered VERY curly hair and because of the layers it looked like I had a rat-tail in the back!!!! I am a year out now and things are back to normal as far as Hair growth and the amount of Hair loss each day. I am not happy that my hair is so short...but only 6 months growth and it looks fine...just not what I like!!!!! Do everything that you know you should do. Remember that very "side effect" is different for everyone. Enjoy the journey....you will love it more each day!

  2. I'm with enigmachik...I was sleeved on July 3rd and have lost 45lbs. I also haven't really gone down a clothing size either. I did buy a pair of jeans a size smaller that I've worn. They are very stretchy....that's why I think they fit. I'm trying to look at the big picture....I'm down and that's what matters. Although it is very hard to do when there are others that have lost sooooo much more. :)

  3. I am 8 weeks out and had rice for the first time this week. It was plain rice with beef in a sauce over it (I made it....not take out). Not sure if this helps....don't know if your doc meant true sticky rice or not. Plain rice can be "sticky" also...that's why I made sure I had plenty of sauce to mix with the rice I had. Hope this helps a little. :) And it was just a touch of rice....but it is what I made for dinner.< /p>

  4. I was sleeved July 3rd and have had no real issues. Over the last few days I have had what feels like a knot in my stomach. I haven't been eating as much or drinking as much because it hurts. I thought it could be stress....just wondering if anyone has experienced this. I haven't taken gas-x or anything because this is day 3. I honestly thought it was something fluky and I would feel better by now. About to take gas-x and see if it helps. Any suggestions?

    Thanks so much!!

  5. Hi! I teach in Georgia. I only told the school counselor (she is in the class next to me) and we're pretty close. I didn't tell my other friends at work because they are older and have expressed negative comments during general discussions. I decided that this is for me. If it comes up I may talk about it but if it doesn't then I won't. My family knows and my best friend.....the main people in my life and they are my support. I was sleeved July 3rd and am down 20 lbs since June 22.

  6. Sleeved July 3rd....hardly any pain. I did use the pain pump about 3 times after surgery - more to sleep than for pain. The main pain has been gas pain not actual surgery pain. It did feel like I had done a few sit-ups but not horrible. Like the 3rd or 4th day after a good work out. :)

  7. I am 4 days post op and progressing well. I am sipping liquids, Protein, broth, and popsicles. I'm belching a lot and have the stomach rumbling after every sip and sometimes pain.

I have hypoglycemia and that those symptoms are what I'm feeling now. I'm trying to stick with "doctor's orders" and so far, so good. If anyone has experienced this what did you do to help the symptoms?

My second day of pre-op liquid diet I ate an egg and then everything settled down I was able to complete my 2 week liquid diet. I have some time before I'm supposed to introduce puree foods......is there something I can do to help with these symptoms? Nausea meds are not helping and the Protein isn't helping either.

    Thanks so much!

  8. Focus on you right now. Yes, you feel that your world is falling apart. Yes, you are hurt and angry. While it will not come now or even tomorrow.....if it is meant to be...it is meant to be. Sleeve of Steel has it right. FOCUS ON YOU! Easier said than done I know. If he could walk away without a glance......then he needs to come to you. If not, he will always be the one in control of the situation. I speak from experience. I made up my mind to live for me and my children. Once I did that, the tables turned and my ex seems a totally different person.

You can do this. Believe in yourself and what your are trying to achieve. We are all here for you.

  9. Thanks everyone! I did ask her about it when she said it's ok if you ate today....just be sure to be very strict since you won't have the full 2 weeks.

I thought it would be fine but every doctor is so different. I wanted to hear from people who had already done some type of diet and know that it turned out ok. :)

  10. I received the call today and my surgery is scheduled for July 3rd. The scheduling person told me to start my liquid diet today since it isn't the full 2 weeks and that it was ok that I had already eaten today. I looked online and some doctors require between 7-14 days. So not everyone requires 2 weeks. Do you think not having the full 14 days is ok?

    Thanks!
