  1. Excellent question - I'd get in to your doc because having this issue with veggies and with the symptoms you're describing sounds like a gallbladder attack, though I'm not sure how intestinal pain fits into that. But it's far better to be safe than sorry!

I'm sorry you're still having trouble and I would definitely follow up with your general practitioner to make sure you don't have something more serious going on.

Thanks, I will, I have an appointment on August 1st.

  2. Update: I was up all night vomiting bile and feeling intestinal pain, I was about to go to the ER when the pain started easing in the AM. I tried to sleep it off. Gas pills and Milk of Magnesia were vomited. The pain finally was gone around noon but my throat is raw. I guess I'll be eating a full liquid diet these next couple of days. I've had this pain before the surgery when I eat veggies. It never lasted this long though. I'm just glad that's all over with. Thanks for your input.

  3. How are you doing today? If the discomfort faded overnight, it was likely something you ate.

Have you had issues with dairy up to this point? For me (nowadays) I only have issues when I take in too much in one day. The symptoms are terrible pain and intestinal cramping and if I've had enough dairy that day, it will progress into bathroom troubles.

Some greens can cause an issue, so if you hadn't already "vetted" the spinach, that could be the culprit, though in my experience that's an easier green to digest. Lettuces still bug me sometimes and I'm three years out.

Rice would make your stomach hurt, not your intestines, if you'd had too much.

It also sounds like you had quite a bit of Fiber yesterday - that could also be the issue, especially if you're pairing it with a supplement that has fiber in it, too.

I also get similar discomfort when I overdo artificial sweeteners, so watch your intake of those.

I hope you're feeling better. The best thing you can do is try to think back to when you started to feel poorly and try to pinpoint it there. And if you're still feeling crummy today? food poisoning or a stomach bug is your answer.

Thanks, it happened til noon today and yeah, it was the veggies.

  4. Wow! It sounds like you lit a torch in your poor new tummy! I would take it easy on the spicy foods...as well as the rice. I am two years post op and I can't even handle rice all that well. If you don't feel better in the morning I would call my surgeon if I were you. I don't think you have anything serious wrong other then some severe heartburn and upset tummy from all of that food. Remember that your stomach is like a baby's. little steps at a time. You can't eat all of the stuff you did prior to surgery right away. Try one thing at a time...if your tummy tolerates it then you can move on. It really sounds like you just over did it. Good luck my friend...and take it easy on your self! :)

Thanks, I've actually eaten this before, and it never caused me problems. The deal is with the veggies, my intestines can't handle the gas and they flare up from time to time.

  5. Last night my stomach started hurting. I was having like intestinal/gas pains. I figured if I threw up or used the restroom I would be ok. Well I kept throwing up bile all night and kept having the pains. I took some gas pills and some milk of magnesia but I kept throwing up. I can't hold Water down either. I'm 5 months post op and this is my first problem. Yestetday I ate shredded wheat Cereal, rice and Beans and a spicy italian sub with spinach, black olives, tomatoes and banana peppers then some spicy peanuts. Do I need to go to the ER?

  6. Don't fear it. My highest was 363 pounds. I too was scared to join the gym because of my weight and my shortness makes me look even more of a butterball. Anyways, I lost some weight on my pre-op diet, then when I had surgery on 1/30/13, I was 276. Well it took all this time to finally find some pants and shirts to fit comfortably, then the next hard step was signing up. It helped that an uncle went with me. The next hard step was showing up for my first workout. When I finally did earlier this month, it wasn't so bad. In fact, I love it! I can't believe I waited so long to do this! I could have been doing this along time ago! In just 3 weeks, I've got some definition in my arms and my legs feel stronger. Good luck to ya!

  7. Hugs! I'm sorry to hear about this. When I was starting my journey last year, I found out my hubby of 16 years was cheating too. This was the 2nd time that I know about. Well that was 2 times too many, so I finally had the courage to leave. Since then, I've filed for divorce, should be final in June, I've got a new and much better man and I've lost 82 pounds so far! I'm finally caring about myself and feel so much freer. It will be rough at first but it will get better.

    God Bless!

  8. I work nights as a telephone operator at a hospital , I walk in place at my desk. Kind of like a march lifting my legs high. Sometimes I do a half hour or more, sometimes I do 10 minutes per hour. I can still get my phone if it rings.

I'm a telephone operator too :) I will lock my doors and lift weights for 20 minutes and do lunges and squats.

  9. I have dark circles, I'm pre-op. Did you have them before surgery or did they just start?

I started using tarte maracuja c-brightener eye cream. It has a bunch of Vitamin C in it. My circles aren't completely gone, but I don't need concealer anymore. They can be covered with just foundation just fine. I've only been using it for 2 months, so it might get even better. I've tried other creams, but never really stuck with anything. They never really worked, or they were too heavy or thick. This goes on really smoothly.

I get mine on QVC: http://www.qvc.com/t...ct.A228487.html but it's available anywhere Tarte cosmetics are sold. Ulta and Sephora carry it, you could go there and try the sample. :)

I had them pre-surgery, well since last year. Its worth a try...thanks! :)
