  1. OMG!!! A massive "no wonder I was fat" moment. I could easily polish if 2 of these in a sitting, plus Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I now eat way less than 1/2 the calories in that PER DAY let alone as a snack!!! Sarah, I've been at goal for a while and am now pretty darn fit, and I still don't do classes. Classes, especially ones with weights, are really hard and you risk injury if you don't work your way up to them. I agree that the trainer was rude and could have been a lot more tactful, but perhaps starting with something low impact like aqua aerobics or yoga, or even Zumba would be safer and more motivating. Good luck.

    Skin Firming

I started wearing the tightest sports bras I could fit into from 2 weeks post op. my tummy is saggy, my arms and legs too, but even though I've gone from a c cup to an a cup, my boobs don't jiggle at all. Compression works great. Getting myself some skinny jeans and a leather jacket to live in from now on.
  3. It's very liberating isn't it Lila. I get a skim latte and a fruit bag from McDonald's. just like going to a brothel for a hug. I know what you mean about the m&ms. I had a sweet craving and ate a fun size bag of malteasers. It sure cured the craving and haven't touched a single one since.
  4. My NUT keeps asking me if plain water goes down ok, I've not had a problem with it so far, except if its really cold, but it must be a big issue for a lot of people because every time I speak to her she asks me about it.

    I'm giving up________for Lent.

Last year I gave up caffeine and on Tuesday I was the victim of an intervention from my work colleagues begging me to give up anything but caffeine this year as I was such a moody cow for 40 whole days!!! This year I'm giving up Facebook.
  6. Today I'm baking an Oreo and Nutella cheesecake and its so ridiculously sweet, even if I wanted to have a piece, I don't think I could get through it. I love how the sleeve has changed my taste for things. Before the surgery, I would have made 2, one to take to the dinner party and 1 to stay at home for me to eat over the next week, it it lasted that long. Even licking a little off the spoon to make sure the flavour was right made me feel ill. Anybody else look at some foods now that they used to love but post op just can't stomach and think "I used to eat (however much) of that?! No bloody wonder I was fat!!!"?
  7. Sorry to be MIA lately, I've been reading all the posts but haven't had anything to write. Quick update for those who don't know: start weight 14kg Surgery 13/8/12 Start size 18 (they were very tight) Current weight 55.2kg Current size, as of yesterday, XS or size 6 or 8 depending on what it is. Bought a pair of size 7 jeans from Jeanswest. My goal was 58kg and to ultimately stay below 60kg for life, I'm having difficulty seeing gains on the scale, even a couple of hundred grams, even though I'm a few kgs under goal. Something I have to work on.

    Flat Sodas

I used to manage a bottle-o and we used to call fruity Lexia the 2 buck chuck because five 15year olds could get blind from 1 box for less than 10dollars.

    Sydney Gal Waiting On Surgery.

I was 104 start weight, 167cm tall and was sleeved by dr Taylor. I am 25. He recommended the band for me too but I got the sleeve. Best decision EVER!!!
  10. c I can't speak for sleeve stretching as the only thing I can fit more than a cup of is popcorn, but I'm 5 months out and if I tried eating steamed dim sims, it would prob take 1/2 an hour to get through one and by that time I would be so stuffed I wouldn't want to look at any more. Yesterday I made myself so full and uncomfortable by eating 6 prawns in my lunch hour. No way in the entire world could I manage to get 3 dim sims in, even now, and I consider myself to be in maintenance.

    Fat, Normal or Skinny

I had it to be healthy. I was out of breath just reading a bed time story to my child. I am now on the skinny side of normal (bmi of 19.9) but have gained so much of my life back. No more diabetes, normal blood pressure, normal cholesterol, no more asthma or sleep apnoea. Being skinny is just a great bonus.
  12. I'm eating my pudding now, I'm so surprised by how little of it I can actually fit in me. I think I was done after about 2 tablespoons. And it really did thicken up over night so it had a nice sticky texture, exactly like tapioca. I think chia seeds are the new quinoa.
  13. Ooo, that sounds really nice. I didn't think I had any cinnamon so was thinking about adding coffee and making it mocha flavour, but then when I realized that I had no cocoa and would be using milo, decided against the idea. I have rice milk also, that's a bit sweeter so I may try that with the cinnamon and cocoa tomorrow and maybe I won't need to add too much golden syrup. I think it would be really nice just with milk and some fresh fruit, like passion fruit and mashed banana. And it's higher in Protein than porridge. I can see this becoming a staple. .
  14. Hey dean, did you use white of black chia seeds? I used mixed ones. Also, I didn't have any cocoa powder, so I used milo and honey instead of golden syrup. I also used lite soy milk. I'll let you know how mine goes.

    freezing ?

I'm in Sydney Australia and a couple of weeks ago we were sweating through a heatwave of more than 40 degrees C, which converted is "freaking hot". I was still sleeping with pjs on and a blanket. We are having torrential rain and flooding tonight and I have unpacked all my winter clothes from when I was fat. My mum thinks I'm mental.
