  1. So... A guy tried to pick me up at the dog park Today. I've been single for a long while now and had decided to just focus on myself and my daughter. It's been a very long time since I've been hit on. He was running (shirtless) around the football field with his 2 dogs while I was walking my dog in the lead free park next to it. I was just getting ready to leave when he brought his dogs over to mine to play. He introduced himself and we talked for nearly 2 hours while the dogs wore each other out. I actually got quite badly sunburnt as I hadn't expected to be standing in the sun that long. I told him that I would love to start running but that I'm not very fit at the moment. He said that running is really good for keeping fat off, but that i didn't look like i had much fat anyway. He told me about a hiking track nearby that he'd be happy to show me around. We didn't exchange phone numbers as neither of us had anything with us except the dogs, but we agreed to meet at the park again tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

    Americans are doomed!

My daughter loves sushi too. She won't eat steamed salmon that I cook, but she'll eat it raw with avocado and wrapped in rice and seaweed. Kids today are weird.

    Americans are doomed!

  4. I ate home made pea and ham soup in the purée phase, and cup-a-soups. I didn't bother checking nutritional info until I was on full solids. You'll be eating so little and your body is recovering, but if there was a "low salt" or "low carb" version of anything I wanted, I opted for that one.

    Americans are doomed!

Did you know...? The Golden Arches is the most widely recognized symbol worldwide, second is the Christian crucifix.
  6. Side note: watching joe hockey on the project tonight, he looks A-FREAKING-MAZING!!!
  7. I have gone from a c cup to a pre teen sports bra and have so much sag that when I bend over my boob skin hangs about 7inches down. I have no breast tissue as when I'm lying on my back, all I can feel is ribs. I know that the scars from a reduction are much worse that those from implants, but I'm not really comfortable with having fake boobs. Also, I breast fed my daughter until she was 1 year old. If I had a reduction, would I still be able to do that with subsequent children? Or would I be able to do that with the implants? I'm fine with being flat chested, I just really HATE the saggy deflated balloons hanging off me. Any help would be appreciated. I would like for them to not sag so much, or actually, even at all.
  8. I'm wearing an Australian size 6 jeans now, which is a us size 2. I can't stand the look of me even with clothes on. I bought a size 7 pair of skinny jeans and they had the saggiest butt ever. Went to the size 6 and it looks heaps better on, and fits better, all the skin from my thighs and bum get dragged up to the top to get them on, and getting them over that one big roll of flab is hard. I don't have a muffin top or anything because as soon as they are on, gravity takes everything back to where it should be. I just hate seeing it there.

    yet another picture

I'm glad I got to see the pics before they get taken down. You look AMAZING!!! Is it hard for you to see a real difference in the mirror, but are completely gob smacked when you see side by side selfies? I only ask because I can stare at a pic of new me next to old me for ages, just amazed. You look brilliant. And you have a nice bum

    Steri-strips. Heeelp!

I had to take them off the day before my 2 week post op check with the surgeon as he wanted to make sure the wounds were fully healed. I was advised by him to take them off in the shower under the running water. Good in theory, it didn't hurt, but I did wake up on the floor of my bathroom with the Steri strip in my hand, a pretty neat little scar on my belly and a mild concussion. For the remaining 4 incisions I took the strips off while lying flat on the bed and I didn't get up for about 15 minutes.

    bag for the hospital ladies!

Bra with removable straps that you can get on and off without having to take off your drip. You can hang out in pjs day and night but if you don't like sleeping in a bra, but have to have one on when you're doing all those walks, a strapless or convertible bra is the way to go.
  12. I lost 15lb in 1 week with glandular fever. I couldnt exercise for 3 months as I was so sick and was hospitalized twice for severe dehydration. I lost all of my weight REALLY quickly because of it and the only real side effect I'm suffering now because of it is HEAPS of saggy skin. It just didn't have time to contract. Focus on getting better, not on the weight.
  13. Heaps of Aussies here. You're in good company. Good luck.
  14. That's fantastic news Michele. Now you can just focus on your health and starting the last diet you will ever be on. Good luck.
  15. Oh Lissa, that sucks. I know that I've had a lot of trouble sharing my success with my bigger friends, and very few even comment on it. I find that my biggest supporters are the skinny girls that are cheering for my with every new dress size I fit into. It's funny actually, because it was always the skinny girls that said I was beautiful, even when I was big, and the big girls that were always critical. I just never really noticed it before I lost the weight. I think the better you feel about yourself, the nicer you are to others. It's the old bully logic, the insecure ones are mean to you before you can be mean to them. Have a great time at the theme parks. So jealous. Brilliant work kel. You should be proud.

I am sitting on the couch at the moment, In My size 2 jeans, feeling like a big fat fatty. Can't wait for my brain to catch up and my fat rolls to disappear. Starting crossfit soon. Hope that will help.
  17. We all love you too dean. And it is nice to have so many girls speak so frequently, some of us big, some of us skinny, but none of us back-stabbing, nasty or bitchy. I love this thread xxx

Low bmi , slow loser ?

Weight loss varies for EVERYBODY. Some high bmi'ers lose really slowly losers, and some low bmi'ers lose quickly. I lost nearly 1/2 my body weight in 5 months. Started at 210lb, now 120lb. Exercise plays a part, as does Water intact and diet. Fast or slow, the weight WILL come off. Good luck.
  19. It sucks for you, but I guess it's fair. Do you have severe comorbidities and are you likely to die within a year? I didn't realize that was the criteria you had to meet for super withdrawal. I didn't qualify for early super release and my surgeon said not to bother jumping through all the hoops to just be rejected. I was 104kg, had mild sleep apnoea, had high blood pressure that was being controlled by medication and asthma, none of which were immediately life threatening or debilitating. I took out a personal loan.

I'm 120lb and still feel like an elephant. I know I'm not, and everybody tells me to stop and that I'm skinny enough, but I'm not ready to stop yet. I don't feel like I'm "there" yet. It's omerhing that I'm discussing with my psych. I hope this will help.

    Chatty tummy?

I have a tin roof so when it rains its really really loud. My boxer dog sleeps just in front if my and my daughter's bedroom doors. My daughter came into my room at 11pm, while it was raining and the dog was snoring like a champion, and said that she couldn't sleep because my tummy was making so much noise lol.
