Fill Question....
banded 7/2/12 and apparently had about 2.5cc at surgery time (didnt even know lol) and two weeks ago i got another 1.5cc so i have about 4cc now. i feel the restriction, but i can still eat more than i should. but it keeps me full for several hours. i have my second fill today. she said it would be about 0.5, but i'm going to try to convince her to give me 1cc. because i think that will give me good restriction. as for people not noticing... i know exactly how you feel!! i've lost 38 and only people that know about the surgery have commented. i was sooooooo discouraged when no one commented. and it wasn''t until this week that two coworkers commented on the weightloss. it was encouraging. but.... when no one had commented... i had to remind myself that a lot of people dont want to say anything because they feel a little wierd saying "hey, you're losing weight" because they might feel a little ackward bout it... lilke they're saying 'you're fat' by saying you're losing. know what i mean? my best friend told me her BF noticed i'd lost weight but told HER about it... not me. so i'm sure people are noticing, but some are just a little wierd about saying anything. so dont let that discourage you... just be encouraged as you see clothes fitting big!! keep up the great work!

Little Victories That Make Me Love My Band!
my name is sylvia... and i love my band! lol i was banded 7-2-12... so about 6 weeks ago i'm down 38 pounds (that includes pre-op and post-op)... and here are a few little victories that make me smile and love my band... 1- people that dont know about the band have FINALLY commented about how 'great' i'm looking and how i've lost weight. (i had been a little down lately because i felt like no one noticed!) 2- i'm fitting into clothes that haven't work in YEARS! pants that i love and kept in hopes of one day fitting into them... i can FIT INTO THEM!!!!!!!!!! one in particular that made me happy was a paid of tommy hilfiger trouser jeans that i LOVED. and when my now husband and i started dating about 3 years ago, i wore these pairs like once or twice and he loved them and asked me to wear them more cause he liked how they looked on me. well... they were already a little tight and getting tighter (as i gained more) and were too uncomfortable to wear! SO i always had some excuse as to why i didn't wear them (i wasn't about to tell a guy i just started dating that my pants were too small! LOL and , yes, eventually i told him they were too small! and by the time i was banded, i couldn't even get them UP to my waist... much less close them!) so last night i go and try these and other pair of pants on and they all close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mind you, they are a little tight, but they CLOSE. and in another month or so... they will fit well!! 3- i'm learning to eat to live... not live to eat! i still love food and appreciate it... but its not an obssession (usually). i have been able to say no to certain things and to learn to stop when i'm full and be ok with giving part of my food over to my husband because i'm getting full. (i may or may not have growled/scowled at anyone trying to share my precious food in the past) love it! 4- my husband sees me walking around with pants that are now huge on me and calls me 'thin' (who, ME?!) anyway just wanted to share these because i'm so excited! what are you're little victories that make you love your band?!

Hard Time With Pre Op Diet.
pre op isn't easy... i had to do the 2 shakes, one meal and then ONLY liquids for 2 weeks PRE op and 2 weeks POST op... so i KNOW its HARD! BUT..... you can totally do it! i learned sooooo much during that month on liquids. first, that i could do it. you feel a sense of accomplishment when you achieve it. i learned that i was addicted to food and its helped me to better deal with temptations now, post op. so hang in there... the first few days are the hardest. day 4 was the worst for me... i even CRIED. i hated it. but was strong and it got easier! if i could do those 4 weeks of liquids without cheating, ANYONE can do it... i've never lasted on a diet longer than a week... so there you go! YOU GUYS CAN DO IT!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (thats me in my cheerleader mode!) lol!!!

Need Advise Asap!!! Feel Like Crap!
I agree that's it's a good idea to track ur food. I use myfitnesspal...it's online or a phone app too. One meal isn't going to make u gain a ton of weight. I've made bad choices a few times, but it's about moving on from that and making good choices from then on. My mom was a bit on the side of adding a lot of oil an such, but I just had to be super honest and tell her that it's healthier for me with less oil, etc. just let family members know and they will understand. Best of luck!

Sitting In Dr Office...waiting For First Fill! Yikes!
Well my fill went super well! I barely just felt a little pinch and it was over before I knew it! And she said this would be the longest fill because it's my first so she was going over all the info and stuff. I'm on liquids for two days now...so thru tomorrow a and then 2 days of soft foods and then gradually adding normal foods. Apparently, this will be the routin for each fill. Even with the shakes, I'm feeling full. My dr said it was because there is swelling, so the liquids is better. As for how much, she gave me 1.5 cc and said I had already had about 2.5 in from surgery so now I have about 4cc in my 10cc band. I go back in 2 weeks for another .5 cc. I'm hoping this helps!! I am 1 month from surgery (banded 7-2-12) and after starting soft foods, wast losing much. So I'm glad for the 2 days of liquids so help me focus and start slow again!

6 Wks Post Op...i Eat Btw 800 To 1100 Cal A Day....is This Ok?
i eat about the same range of calories as you. i went to my nutricionist last friday and she said thats fine and that when i get a fill (my first fill is this friday), i might be eating around 800-900, which is fine. as long as you're getting the nutrients. i try to stay within 20-30 fat grams a day, 30-50 g carbs and at least 70 g protein (i usually have 90-100).

Thanks ladies! Yea, i don't know what I was thinking! After all I went thru with the one month of liquids and how it detoxed me from the carbs, I went and ate this dumb thing. M pretty disappointes in myself. I am swearing it off because it sucks to feel crappy like this. :-/ I sipped on warm tea this morning and it felt a little better. I'm having a shake now in small sips, and will continue with liquids all day. Thanks again...guess I had to learn the hard way

Stuck? Heartburn? Woke Up Feeling Bleh :(
Hey everyone, I'm almost 3 weeks post op. no fill yet. this week I started on soft foods. Yesterday I had some salmon and Cooked spinach (both of which I've had earlier this week with no problem). And then I had a little coffee for the first time...I know I'm not supposed to drink afterward I also tend to forget and eat bigger bites. So then I felt super super full and was almost painful around band area. That eventually went away, but still had a wierd full-ish feeling 7 hours later, but hungry too. I had a snack before bed...cottage cheese and a sugar free Jello. (oh and I was totally bad and had a cupcake sometime before that. I know, it was bad and I gave in to my fav from fav spot...I rarely even ate this BEFoRE the band...and at end if day, my total cals were still under 900 cals.) Today I woke up with heartburn (I take prilosec before bed every night) and still that full feeling. I was able to drink some Water but still feel like I have food in pouch...and even maybe hurts a bit around band...in back area. I don't have a fill yet so I'm able to eat more than I probably should. Should I drink some tea? Would that help with this gross feeling? Am I stuck? Is it for eating the cupcake? It all started after the salmon for lunch. Feel like I totally messed up with that cupcake and coffee after dinner. Sigh.... :-/ Thanks for any input!

One Week Post-Op!
i'm almost 3 weeks post op and i had liquids for the first two weeks (and two weeks before that for pre-op) so i can tell you that by that last week i was so over liquids!! around this time is when your swelling is going down, so you start to get your hunger back. i went to my dr one week later and was hoping he'd put me on soft foods early, but they explained that they just want to make sure the stitches inside... where the band is stiched up, heal up completely and properly... thus keeping me on liquids. so just think that its for the best and to avoid problems in the long run! just plan ahead what you will have and when you finally have soft foods, it will be super special! you can make it... just... one... more.... week.... !
