  2. checking in at........ 235!!!!!! i made my new goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think it helped that i was on liquids for couple days because i got a fill on friday! i really thought i wasn't going to make it because i was at 236 for a couple days... but this morning.... 235!! i literally did a 'woohooo!' in my PJs!! LOL

    i love these challenges... it really makes me work harder! thanks for your hard work with the spreadsheet and all! :)

    and to everyone that participated... GREAT JOB!!!!


  3. i just wanted to share something i realized...

    since the end of november (around my birthday), i had been starting to eat badly. things that i knew i could eat more of (regardless of the band) and a lot of it. it started with, "oh, its my birthday today... its ok" and "oh, its thanksgiving..." and "for the sake of the holidays... " and little by little, i gained a few pounds and, before i knew it... i was eating crappy and feeling just as bad. not just physically... but emotionally too!

    but january 1... i pledged to get back on track and i have been. it hasn't even been that hard to get back into it. so after taking a break from being healthy... and returning to being healthy.... here is what i wanted to share...

    I'd forgotten how GOOD it feels to be healthy (and losing!)!

    and.... Breaks are overrated! :wacko:

    so... if you're struggling because you've lost that momentum you had when you started... you can do it!!! all december, i struggled to get back on track.. but then i realized... mentally, i had to be there. i couldn't do it because i was stressed... it made it worse. so i gave myself until dec 31, knowing that january 1 was a new start and mentally, i was ready to be back. and it FEELS SO MUCH BETTER!!!

    no cookie, cake, Pasta or anything feels as good as seeing a pound less on the scale!!!! seriously... :) i've lost what i gained, plus an extra 2 pounds down... and i feel better than i did eating the 'junk food'...


  4. Hi,my name is Sylvia.... I was banded about 6 months ago and i lost 55 pounds, but gained about 5 in the last month or so.... soooo i'm back on track now! I used to hang out on these boards a lot and I think that really helped keep me focused, so now i'm back and hoping this will help me refocus and stay focused. Name, real or screen~ Sylvia u

    i checked in on tuesday at 241.. but i'm actually checking in again... at 239!!! i hit this month's goal already... SOOOO... i'd like to change my original goal to 235... i need to push myself for this one! :)

  6. Oh I wear mine all the time. I was banded July 2012. I didn't wear it for a few weeks because I was scared of messing up my incisions, but it was fine once I felt they were completely healed. It hasn't affected my port or anything at all. I use the shapeware because it gives me a nice shape and it helps with the flabby skin that's developing as I lose :-P

  9. Great stuff people have written here...

    It's so true, you have to go thru a time of "mourning" your break up with food. We all got to where we were because of the bad relationship and ADDICTION to food. So know what u r feeling, we have all felt at some point. I went thru times of crying and dispair and anger. But it went away. Food lost te battle. And now, I look back and I can't even remember those times becaus how great I feel now is so much stronger!

    Think about all te great things u will be doing when u lose weight! The clothes! Go window shopping for things u will wear! U will feel better soon...hang in there! Saying a little prayer for u! Feel free to MSG me anytime!


  10. I was on a plateau for a couple of weeks. My eating was ok an ur I hadn't gone to Zumba like I had te previous month or so. So this week I started doing Zumba again and went down 3 pounds! Maybe u need to add some exercise or modify/intensify the exercise u r doing now? Ur body might have gotten used to what ur doing so u have to give it soemthig to work on


  11. Congrats!! Praying u have a speedy recovery! Im 4 months out and it has changed my life for te better! I sometimes forget i have the band, except for when my cliyes gets big and the scale nimbers r going down!

    One little thing i like to share becauee it helped me... Just from experience and from others... Sometimes around 3rd or 4th day, u feel Worse emotionally for a day...just know its normal because of teh surgery and it wont last more than a day... and u can come on here and vent because we have all been thru it! Recovery isn't bad and when u start to see how ur life has changed for the better, you will know this was the best decision of ur life! Very excited for u!!


  12. hey! happy bandiversary! i was banded july 2 too...

    yea you are probably eating too fast and taking too big of bites. when i started getting my fills, i kept forgetting and taking 'normal' bites... like the size i USED to take before the band and eating just as fast. i had to have my husband remind me every time we eat to slow down and take small bites. its a learning process! i still do it sometimes and the same thing happens... it feels stuck and i burp... and its slime (gross!)... i think that slime is your body's reaction to trying to help it down. not fun. so yea... just try to conciously slow down and take small bites... like i tell myself, that food aint going anywhere... i can slow down to eat it! LOL


  13. I have had a few occasions where I get a really weird dull/achy pain that seems centered right around my middle. It happens every couple months and only lasts for a little bit, but it is disconcerting.

    I'm not sure if I should worry about gallbladder issues. After the last one, if it happens again I will schedule a Dr appointment.

    yea i'd go get it checked because you do NOT want a gallbladder pain attack... its the worst pain i have EVER felt in my life... literally the worst ever... :(


  14. Sorry to hear about the negative remarks. I think we all encounter people like that and it's harder when it's family. Maybe you can try explaining to her that her comments are unnecessarily negative and aren't helping. It's probably a good idea not to weigh until first fill so you aren't worried about the weight...and just healing. You are completely right on track with only worrying about healing right now. Losing will come soon enough! I think the "I don't know" is a great answer for ur mom ;) or "I'm only sharing my once a month weigh in with you" or just tell her that's not important and that u are just being healthier now. :) keep you're head up and keep up the great work!
