When did your dr have you add soft foods? My drs post op phase is 4 days clear, then 5 weeks of full liquids and soft foods. I'm so confused. I'm 15 days out of surgery. No complications. That just kind of leaves it wide open as what to try, and when. What did you do?

No one else has any ideas?

Mine said one week, but it's only in my own pool. Not fresh water or public pool.

I'm day six post op. I was cleared to start purée recipes. Anything that falls thru a fork they said. I am stressed on what to eat. How often? How much? What did you like? I'm scared of getting sick, or hurting. How do you hide the protein in without gagging? Help!!!

I haven't had anything but broth, ice, water, and Popsicle so far. No dairy yet. I have been readmitted into hospital now. Grr. Still have my drain too. Ready to move on!

I was sleeved July 13, Friday. I have had massive diarrhea since then. It's awful. Anything I can take for the diarrhea and god awful bubbly guts? I feel so awful and full from the bloating. Ugh.

How do I know I'm full and need to wait? What does it feel like?

I got sleeved on Friday. I went home Saturday. I'm terrified to sip things. It doesn't hurt. Just lots of burping. How often and how much did you drink right after? I'm terrified I will vomit, and rip my insides, not to mention how painful that could be.

Oh yea. The pain is wayyy less than I expected. It's not pain free of course, I knew that. I expected to be in horrible pain. I had my lap band removed when I was 19 weeks pregnant. That hurt like hell, cause the baby was pushing on the incisions. Awful. So I thought it may be like that again. Not at all.

The swallow test wasn't fun, but wasn't awful. I have been NPO for 36 hours now. Surgery happened at 10am Friday. Stopped food and drink Thursday at 8pm. The swallow test comes 24 hours after surgery. You drink this greenish dye in front of an X-ray machine. Tastes like cough syrup. I requested nausea meds before I went down to help that. They made me drink 4 ounces of it. So I'm a bit uncomfy now. They pretty much filled my new tummy with it. It's not terrible though. Easier than I expected in my mind.

I had my surgery yesterday. Anyone else? Just wondering how you are feeling. I'm about to get my swallow test in a few hours. I'm nervous to take anything, hoping I don't get sick.

I'm done. Not as bad as I thought. I have been up walking many times. My surgeon was late. That really stunk. Gave me more time to freak out. Went about ten A.m. I have a drain and a Marcaine pain ball. Getting morphine. On oxygen and monitors. All the cords are annoying. The reglan they gave me preop gave me diarrhea so bad. Not cool! I was nervous about pooping on the OR table. I didn't. Lol. It does hurt pretty bad, don't get me wrong, but way less than I expected. I realized it was Friday the 13th just as they put in my iv. Afte missing 3 times. Grrr.

I'm laying here and can't sleep. My surgery is in 4 hours! Yikes. So nervous. I want to run away and cancel!!! Not gonna, but eeek!

Cheri-my surgery is Friday. My appt is Wednesday. I'm on my 2 week diet now. Yikes. Five days. Omg. Freaking out!!!

What's a typical meal look like for you after the sleeve? 1/4 cup? 1/2 cup? 1 cup? Just a couple bites? Or more like 15 bites? How long do you wait to drink before or after?

I had Mexican food the night before my 2 week diet. I have 6 days left until surgery. My last meal is done!

I don't like ice cream anyways, so that's ok!

Sounds just like the damn lap band. Ugh. Everything had to be slathered in sauce to go down. No eggs, lettuce, or fibrous veggies or fruits, nothing dry. That's just how my band was. I don't want to relive that nightmare anytime soon. I'm freaking out. I'm scheduled for Friday. Not sure if this is the best thing for me anymore.

Not six months, six years.

This truly upsets me that there are foods that aren't tolerated. The band failed me due to food intolerance. I wanted to eat eggs, nuts, and fibrous fruits and veggies, but I never could without vomiting. That is why I wanted the sleeve. I didn't want to sit next to the bathroom at every restaurant in case I vomited. The band ultimately had to come out when I got pregnant. It completely closed off due to pregnancy swelling. Even empty, nothing would pass thru. I didn't want to stress now that I might vomit after one bite of the wrong thing. That's just exactly how six months of the band went. Ugh. Am I doing the right thing???

My hubby has a bypass. Half a glass of wine, and he is drunk. Is this true for sleeves as well?

I will be sleeved next Friday. I was curious what you can't eat after the sleeve is healed? Why can't you eat certain things? What happens if you do?

I'm 5'8" as well. Was 265 at my consult. My pre op is Wednesday. Hope I've lost something!

I mixed mine with just a spoon and cold milk. Had no lumps at all.
