  1. I had to get my primary care docs also to write letters. They take your weight most times you go in there, regardless of whether you are dieting or not, so they should have a record of yo-yos and such. Try that direction, it might help!

    Good luck!

  2. I try to stick to once a week, in the mornings after I use the bathroom... I get the best results then and I feel better about myself! But like previously said, docs scale is always more, especially with more clothes on.

Do what feels best to you!

  3. I was diagnosed with RA last week. The meds the doc put me on ripped my stomach apart, so we are trying a new med starting tomorrow. If these do not work, I have to do injectables. I hope that it works!

My healing process was ok. It did take a bit to feel better, I felt like I got hit by a truck, but as I have read here, that is not different than anyone else. I went home from the hospital the same day, but three weeks until I started to feel like myself again.

I hope that helps some! Good luck to you!

  4. scorrea, Glad to see you have it all figured out. I'm stumped.

I drink mostly Decaf anything, but occassionaly regular.... How do you make your iced decaf tea?

I use about 4 decaf tea bags and boil the Water, let it steep for about an hour. Put it in a pitcher and while Water is warm add the sweetner that I will use, then fill the pitcher to the top with cold water. Thats it!

  5. Guilty here too! I am a night grazer! For me, its around 10pm, considerably after dinner time as we eat around 5-530 every night, so by 10 I am hungry. I will eat what I have. I try to eat those cottage cheese 100 calorie doubles. Gets me for my sweet and Protein for hunger. That can usually do it for me. Some nights that isnt enough and its a struggle. I just want to fall asleep so I am not tempted. I am not a sweet eater, I tend to like fresh mozzarella cheese and tomatoes with a drop of salt and balsamic vinegar.. sounds good to me now! I like the savory stuff. So that makes it harder for me.

So know, you are not alone! Not by any means! Its a struggle all around!

    Keep your head up!

  6. I stopped using Aspartame because of the havic it reeks on my stomach. I cannot take too much of it in at all. I use I can't believe its not butter on occasion, but other times if its a small amount, I will just use real butter. I remember a show a long time ago saying that a container of fake butter can sit out in the garage and not have any flies or critters go anywhere near it... I always picture that when I eat it and it yucks me out!

I now make Decaf iced tea at home and use Truvia. It works. It does take a bit of getting used to, but its better than no sweet at all!!

  7. Missy is correct. I had little info after my surgery and I made a second appt with a nutrionist to clear some stuff up for myself. I had a whole new set of questions to ask and I got the proper answers. I feel much more confident in my journey since I have seen my nutrionist. I know I am in control and what I should be doing.

    Good luck!

  8. I concur with the ladies here. You need to go to the ER. Regardless of why you are dehydrated, you are and you need fluids. They will hook you up to an IV and give you the fluids your body needs. If its that bad, you may need more than one. Do not risk your health. It is not worth it.

  9. I am on 3 types of meds with side effects of major weight gain and it has been hard. I am not losing as fast as others on the same diet and I know I am trying. My doc on my last visit was a little snippy with me as to my weight loss and lack thereof! I reminded him of it. My other doc saw the change! I lost 23 pounds so far and my numbers on my blood work are getting better when my meds are staying the same, so the concentration in my blood is changing. It will happen. You need to keep everyone on board, like it was said. Use your dietician, surgeon and PCP together to accomplish this. It can be done. It may happen slower, but as long as you realize what is going on and they do too, all will be ok.

  10. Sure, no problem. Its just to kick some weight loss into gear! I have been at the same weight for 3 months now. I havent been perfect with my diet, but not so far off that I shouldnt be losing something. So I guess its kind of an experiment. She also suggests to lower my Protein amounts for a bit too, nothing too drastic, just down to 2-3 ounces each meal. If I am not staying full though, I will have to up it all again and figure something else out.
