  1. I'm 3 months post op and no fill yet surgeon says I'm doing great. But I still want one. Ahhhhh! We shall see in anothe month. 0.o
  2. You will see results by a week. I lost 22lbs by my 1st follow up which was 6 days after surgery .
  3. Also sugar free Popsicles were my best friend, you still get that texture like real food but your getting fluids in.
  4. Ya totally the gas trying to work it's way out. I remember eating gas x and Tums like candy,I would eat them like a meal since it got me full. I would eat sugar free jello and be so full after 3 spoons. Give it time, stick to the liquids. I wasn't able to have yogurt until 3 weeks out.
  5. Staeted levothyroxine a year ago, I've lost 40lbs and I'm 7 weeks post op. It can be done. Ive worked very hard
  6. I was banded June 8th dat of surgery I was 304 and currently 265 and my surgeon says I don't need a fill. I lost 27 lbs the first month and and 12lbs in 3 weeks that the average loss per month should be 10 lbs. so since I'm doing really well with diet and exercise I don't need one yet... Just evaluate ur eating and are you exercising and getting enough water. It all makes a big difference in your weightloss.
  7. After day 6 it hurt/was uncomfortable when in the laying position, but all good on top. Port site was very tender
  8. My surgeon said that the average loss for a month should be 10 lbs, I'm almost 2 mos post op and no fill yet, not needed since I've lost 27 lbs the first month and 10lbs after 3 weeks. So since I'm doing "so well" they don't want me to have a full yet. >.< I want one just to see how it goes. And I feel like I'm going slow, I think because I'm comparing my progress to bypass patients, they lose so quickly 0,0
  9. Tried getting a fill at 1 month post op but dr was not able to locate port and extremely painful. Went back yesterday and a diff doctor said I don't need one yet. That avg weightloss should be 10 lbs and that I've already lost 8lbs in 3 weeks. Ugh!!! Part of me really wants one. I feel like I'm losing very slow. I'm apparently impatient :/
  10. Lol thanks! Yes it stopped ,I would get one every 4-6 months and then completely stopped the last year and I've never been on birth control. I just want to feel " normal" and be regular
  11. Lube?? Keep at it. Lol
  12. Hiii! At my heaviest last summer I was 335, I With my *** insurance I had to do a monitored weightloss program with a weekly weigh in with a nutrionist, after that 6 mos program I had to wait for a lot of aurhorizations. Lab work, endoscopy, esophageal manometry test. It took me over a year to get surgery.. June 8th 2012 surgery weight 304 current weight 274! So worth it. Good luck on your journey
  13. Idk I have a 10 cc band , I haven't heard of anything other than that
  14. I want my period already lol. It's been over a year since my last one.. I'm currently 275 and no period yet. I've lost 60lbs,not on birth control. Wonder how much weight everyone's lost before their cycle started again?
  15. 17.9% awesomeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! 335 starting weight,day of surgery 304(6/8/12), today 275!
  16. I want my period already lol. It's been over a year since my last one.. I'm currently 275 and no period yet. I've lost 60lbs,not on birth control. Wonder how much weight everyone's lost before their cycle started again??
  17. I was diagnosed with lupus 2years ago and at my pre op visit my surgeon discussed with me that the band might not be suitable for me because of lupus but he never explained why.. If it is lupus related that sucks! I can't even describe how it felt. Like it felt like rope was wiggling around inside.im really sensitive to touch when I have a flare up.i listen to my body obsessively.
  18. I was wondering the same thing about the port location. Only because the first week post op I could really feel the port and after starting back at the gym 8 days post op I did Zumba, running and since then I haven't felt the port. The dr had a hard time finding it. She went off the fact that I said I was tender where my scar was. Honestly I felt she had poked muscle or fatty tissue omg something! I doubt it should have been painful
  19. I even asked the physicians if other patients have pain when they get a fill. She said no,sometimes it's uncomfortable.. I'm just so traumatized from it all,I really wanted it done. I could feel the cord that runs to the band as it was getting filled and it was the weirdest thing.but I couldn't believe all the pain I was having, hoping it was just because I'm sick right now and that the next time I go in,it won't be painful. Crossing my fingers. More upset that I drove over an hour away for my appointment, time, money, gas lost.i should have reschedule till I felt better. Idk :/
  20. I've heard of a lot of surgeons numbing the area of the port, but I understand why they wouldn't..
  21. No fill It was too painful to continue . I feel so defeated at this point. Idk what's going on with my body
  22. Today was my 1 month follow up and scheduled for my first fill, this week I have been having a flare up due to lupus, overall not feeling good, I was NOT numbed before the poke my dr said " we don't numb anyone because they can be over poked" it was painful! I felt immediate stabbing pain in my back. And the sensation of the fluid running through the port was excruciating. I had to ask her to stop! I couldn't take it anymore. A 10/10 pain. And I have a high tolerance to pain. I'm wondering has anyone else experienced pain like this, it's probably that my body is sensitive and hurting because of my flare up :/
