  1. Same here sleeved 1/14 and was able to start chicken this week I have had a text book recovery some soreness nothing unmanageable and eating small amounts is no joke so far I've hit the dreaded 2-3 week stall hoping to be over that soon! These are amazing stories! I saw my surgeon for follow up today he told me if I don't lose to my goal weight in 6 months I've failed the sleeve? That this tool works best in 6 months and the rest is maintaining! He said if I don't work out and burn 1000 calories a day I won't lose? Wow do you work out this much?? I love your stories I was day if surgery 224 now 210 stalled for a week now and am freaking out!
  2. These are amazing stories! I was sleeved just the 14 of January and I saw my surgeon for follow up today he told me if I don't lose to my goal weight in 6 months I've failed the sleeve? That this tool works best in 6 months and the rest is maintaining! So to hear your losing still encourages me! He said if I don't work out and burn 1000 calories a day I won't lose? Wow do you work out this much?? I love your stories I was day if surgery 224 now 210 stalled for a week now and am freaking out!
  3. I know how you feel will I ever want to get out of bed? Can't undue what can't be undone!
  4. Yay so incredibly glad it's better praying that it continues to dilate.
  5. Yes thanks for info. I pray that everyone that has this surgery has a easy process of eating foods. Staying on track is right!
  6. Okay this post is a bit frightening for me because I'm wondering if I'm screwing it all up. I am less than four weeks post-op and I've had absolutely no issues. I was back at work 4 days after surgery. My recovery has been remarkable and so far, I'm feeling like getting the sleeve is the best thing I've ever done. As of today, I've lost 13 lbs since surgery but things have slowed down considerably since introducing real food back into my diet nearly one & half weeks ago. I faithfully did the liquid Protein diet for the first two weeks both pre and post-op, but then quickly moved to meat after the two week post-op liquid diet was completed. I immediately tolerated well-chewed chicken, beef, pork and even chili very well. I eat about 4-5 oz. of protein three times a day, along with sipping one 20 oz. bottle of Isopure Protein Drink throughout the day. Although the guidelines given to me say that I can have as much as 1 cup of food at a time, I don't and won't. It's true what everyone says, my body tells me if I've had one bite too many. Now that I'm eating real food I feel really good and have more energy, but have I done too much too fast? I've been working under the premise that my body will tell me if something doesn't work for me. Am I looking at this wrong? This is me to a T does this mean that we have a larger sleeve shouldn't some foods bother me? I'm on my 4th week out and I can tolerate anything obviously tiny portions! And my sleeve let's me know when done but why can I eat whatever???

  8. I start my 3rd week tomorrow I haven't lost 1 lb And anything I eat nothing makes me sick my stomach is a little bloated today, can that be a sign of a leak? Why does nothing make me sick? I'm freezing, and still weak but why am I not losing???

  12. Same for me! What Kaiser facility did you have your surgery? I had mine done at Kaiser in West L.A. and it was a great experience...minus the gas I had. Hi Sleeved Kaiser Fresno! I'm 2 weeks and 1 day! How about you? Recovery well! Just fighting the head hunger of foods I don't need
  13. Done at Kaiser! No drains! 1 night stay! Perfect recovery!
  14. Hi I've had a tiny few bites of mashed potatoes but they were very filling with no nutritional value! I haven't had anything bother me yet I add a little milk and cheese to my eggs and can now eat one egg but it is sooo filling! Have you tried avocado yet? I just got approved for soft foods like cheese eggs yogurt soy and skim milk but your right it's hard to mix when you can't eat very much of portions! I hope your able to enjoy those small amount of foods I'm still struggling with my protein as any protein shake makes me nautious and get sick! I'm worried about hair loss without the protein! I just started my vitamins are you taking the multi vitamin with calcium and iron?

Hi Kaiser pals been looking for those who have went through kaiser, I was sleeved 1/14 kaiser Fresno De Berghosian (sp) amazing surgeon I have just started at 4:30 this am with sharp Pains on my left did going constantly had anyone here experienced arak and how do you suppose you felt when it started? I have been worried sick of a leak and not sleeping over anxiety of it and now this pain has me freaked out! I have been in liquids but stared eggs and cottage cheese 3 days before allowed could this be it? Anyways so glad to join the forum! Looking for feedback!
  19. You are such an inspiration Tuesday I am 3 weeks out and like you same start weight where your at is my goal please keep me updated as I'm so excited to see how amazing you look! What were some of the hardest things you had to learn? I'm so scared to start eating afraid I won't lose or get sick I'm afraid of learning what my sleeve will tolerate! Looking great and keep the updated going! Congrats!
  20. My thoughts exactly! you and me both ....reading your post made me not feel nearly as alone as I have been feeling..... I hate the protein shakes and they make my stomach all upset .....they are disgusting and I'm intolerant of them....I'm intolerant of the whey protein .....I'm intolerant of milk and intolerant of cheese..... I did not have this problem before the surgery and it's so disappointing ,so I'm with you ..... I try to get my fluids in but nowhere near 64 ounces per day ....my nurse is like a Gestapo ......she keeps making demands of me and is completely unsympathetic to the struggle..... I know she's just trying to do the right thing but it makes the journey even tougher....we will have to stick together and hang in there together...we are both fighters and i know we will come through... Shel Yes I agree 3 days and counting till I can have cheese will let you know how I tolerate it! My body feels like it doesn't even want or crave anything now keep me updated! It's gotta get better, right?
  21. At the very beginning its so common to not hit any goals at all. My nurses had told me to focus just on staying hydrated. The rest would come once I consistently did that. Still wasn't easy tho. But you'll soon turn the corner and feel so much better! I'm 3.5 months post op and the only way I hit water goals is from calorie/sugar free propel zero. So experiment with the calorie free sugar free beverages and find what works for you. This journey isn't for the faint of heart. Its the hardest thing we will ever do for ourselves! That's so true! Having this forum sure helps when I feel alone! What is a stricture?
  22. Oh my word you just took every word out of my mouth I am desperately trying to get out of this funk! It's miserable! I'm feeling totally worthless I didn't do this without surgery and now want to undue it and know you can't I feel like my social Life revolved around some type of food settings and get jealous when I see people eat whatever they want! I'm waiting for 3 week post op to get what I really need for protein intake as of now I'm getting 5 grams because the Protein shakes make me throw up I've tried 5 different kinds and can't do it! I don't drink 64 oz of Water a say maybe 30 it's been difficult and I just can't get over why I thought this would answer all my problems let me now when you start to feeling better!
  23. I was sleeved 1/14 and started my cycle on my 2nd week which happens to also be a tough week already
  24. I'm 1 week out this is amazing please keep sharing!!!
