1. I was sleeved in November also and have lost 54# since sx. I usually eat every 3hrs but when i dont i get hungry. I'm eating more also but my nut said I would be as time progressed but nothing to what I used to wat before. I too have indulged in rhings I shouldn't. I will allow myself a sliver of something sweet when we eat out and I find that it helps. I carry beef jerky' date=' Pork rinds, and fruit for a snack. Sometimes thats the only way to gwt my fruit servings in. I eat more at home than I do when we eat out so I keep busy! I even bought a fitbit and i make it a goal to gwt my 10k steps a day! I feel ur pain bcuz its getting harder but I just keep my eye on the goal. Good luck and let me know if u find something else that might help!

    highest weight 224#
sx weight 212# (11/20/12)
current weight 158#(5/14)[/quote']

Will do. Good luck to you too.

  2. They took part of your stomach out' date=' they didn't add anything but staples. They did not add will power. Your head brings that into the picture. Sleeving does not eliminate the need for will power, it just gives it help. It does not choose food for you.

It comes down to how you are willing to fight:

fight with the sleeve to be slim and healthy

    or

fight against the sleeve for the right to indulge to your own detriment.

This appetite bully thing is not as big as it appears to you. Back it down. Get mad, get mean, kick it's butt![/quote']

    Great advice. Thanks

  3. Listen' date=' I'm following you. I WANT you to get on track. I NEED you to get back on track. Your NUT might be the help you need, but as a nurse you know that the sleeve ain't no silver bullet. It helps, but 90% is in the brain!!! Please succeed.[/quote']

Thanks. Appreciate the support and encouragement..

  4. Was sleeved in November. My weight loss has always been on the slow side. I lost 52 lbs so far. I must admit, my food choices have been terrible. I have no limits lately. Eating a lot of junk food. Since surgery I have been eating bigger portions than I should. I was convinced and still am that my surgeon didn't cut out as much of my stomach as she was supposed to. I know I had stomach surgery, not brain surgery, buy I did not expect to be able to still eat the way I am. Unfortunately I am able to handle everything. Once in a while, if I eat to fast, I vomit. Suggestions please on how to get back on track.. Don't want all my hard work to be wasted.

  5. I fly a lot for work and the best feeling was not having to ask for a seat belt extender and actually have so much room now in the seats and seatbelt is swimming on me. Lol. I also used to only fly business or first class because the seats are bigger. Love seating coach now!!! Lol

I went to a wedding in April. For the first time, no seat belt extender needed. I was so excited...what a good feeling when I was able to walk down the aisle ( not side ways) to get to my seat..

  6. I went to the market today and had neurenberg sausage (low fat brats) on a bun with spicy mustard. My first since the surgery. It was yummy :)

I will say that the bun was too much to handle for me' date=' I ate about half of it and then DH received the balance of the meal, but I enjoyed it and will likely have another half next saturday at the market.

The old me used to eat the whole thing and then come home and have a cookie :P

I didn't have this surgery so I couldn't enjoy life again. I refuse to eat on a tiny plate or carry plastics with me LOL I still enjoy wine and I eat carbs ::SHOCK:: And I'm losing weight and doing fine. I just don't eat an entire loaf of bread or a burger at every meal. Enjoy life and don't listen to the grumps. There is nothing worse than a hungry and jealous former fatty who's sucking on a lettuce leaf while you enjoy a healthy portion of a yummy treat :P[/quote']

Totally agree. I'm 4 months out and eat almost everything. I'm losing ( slowly). I'm ok with that. I had a whopper Jr. The other day, Oreos today. The old me would have had a whopper and fries, 8 Oreos. I eat carbs, no problem. Still wonder if the surgery was done correctly. I have no restrictions, just smaller portions. Can't live my life eating in measurements.. I agree, I should not be eating some of the things I do. Still enjoying life,

  7. I was craving a whopper for so long.. I decided to have a whopper jr. It was so delicious. I was a bit disappointed that I was able tolerate the entire thing.. I don't have trouble getting anything down. It's scary..still until this day, I feel that my sleeve was not done properly. I'm 4 months out. Eating way too much..

  8. Hope everyone is feeling well. Sleeved in Novemer, lost 35 lbs so far. As someone said in a previous post, we are slow losers but are still winners. Getting a lot of compliments at work, feels sooooo great. Clothes are big. I didn't take my measurements and neither odd the surgeon. Wish I did. I'm so curious to know how many inches I lost.

Lately my appetite feels like its out of control. I feel like all I want to do is eat, eat and eat more. Has me concerned..craving a lot of fast food and junk food. Once in a while I have chocolate or Cookies or a small Wendy's burger. I'm able to handle a large amount of food at a time, I need to be really careful. Any suggestions on some high Protein not so bad for you Snacks?

Think I'm getting bored of the same things. I eat a lot of chobani yogurt, baby belle light cheese and cottage cheese. I'm thinking my meal portions are to big. I need portion size suggestions too. Thanks.... Keep up the good work fellow sleevers..

  9. I'm pretty bummed. Sleeved on November 29th and I've only lost 40 lbs. I was 228 in my day of surgery. I feel like I'm losing at snail pace. I'd really like to get to my first goal of 150 by May 1 but I don't see that happening.

Not alone. Sleeved 11/14. Lost 34 pounds. Soooo slow and frustrating. The last few days my appetite has been out of control. I'm back to feeling like I want to eat everything? Hope I didn't screw things up..

  10. Thanks OTR! It was my goal to be there by my birthday and I missed it by 3 days' date=' but I will take it!

Tsymle- My salmon burgers come from trader joes or costco- I throw some seasoning on it like teriyaki sauce (5carbs) or lemon pepper and bake it or sautee it in a pan. It's nothing fancy :). chicken Parmesan pops from tj's are awesome, too. Crab stuffed flounder, shrimp cocktail. There's so much easy no muss no fuss stuff! I freaking LOVE to cook (I bake for a living). So- if you want any ideas- let me know!!! I'm happy to share![/quote']

aishlaine, your doing amazing. I was sleeved 11/13. Lost 25 lbs. so freaking slow. I see the surgeon tomorrow. Not sure why its so hard for me to lose weight. Would love to hear some more foods that your eating. ( Portion sizes too ) I'm tolerating just about everything ( small portions). I am happy that I lost 25, just wish it was more.. Any suggestions? I am aware that everybody is different.

    Thanks.. Stephanie

  11. 8 weeks 19 pounds! I'm a lightweight. It's so sad i don't regret... I'm still very happy I did it but like everyone else wish thing would speed up.

    5'0

    Before 204

    At surgery 199

    Today 180

Totally agree. Everyone tells me slow and steady is ok. I don't regret it either. That would be fantastic if things would speed up over here too. I'm 9 weeks, 23 lbs gone.. Good luck.

  12. Good Afternoon Everybody! I haven't posted in so long. I was sleeved Nov. 27...everything is going very well. I have lost 35lbs and feel great. I am back to work' date=' which is hard to get used to. I work 12 hour shifts in a very busy ER and I feel like I just can't get in enough Protein or Water. I really think slow and steady wins the race as far as weight loss. I do notice that if I drop weight too quickly I feel very crappy. I am just trying to exercise more and find new ways to tempt my palate in a healthy way. I hope everyone is also doing well![/quote']

I also work 12-13 hour shifts in a pediatric hospital. I also am unable to consume enough water or protein. My weight loss has been beyond slow. I was sleeved Nov. 14, lost 23 lbs. hard not to get discouraged. Sometimes I can eat a lot of food, sometimes I don't feel right after 3 bites. Today I ordered a nice salad with grilled chicken, after a few bites I felt that stuck feeling in my throat. I have been eating all "regular" food but small portions. It's hard to eat at work, and if we do get time there isn't time to eat slow. Good luck with your journey..

  13. Hello' date=' thank U everybody for your kind words and encouragement. After discussing this with my nutritionist and my doctor, I feel better. They are basically saying the same things most of you are saying. It is a personal journey. We will lose at different rates. With that said, I will keep plugging along following their orders and doing what I'm supposed to do. Eventually, I will reach my goal.[/quote']

Freja you are not alone. I'm 8 weeks post-op and only 21 lbs. down. It is bitter sweet to hear all these success stories. In one way I am thrilled for all the success stories that I am reading about, on the other hand I'm wondering what am I doing wrong? It's not fair. It is extremely disappointing. I expected to be down so much more by now. I actually got angry today. Was wondering what the hell I did to myself. Had regrets. My co-workers are very supportive but they truly don't understand my frustration and disappoint. I here the same thing over and over. 21 lbs is good. Yes I agree it is good, but not good enough. I'm turning 40 this month. I was hoping to have lost much more by then. I know ( I'm sure you do too), we cannot give up.

Lets keep in touch. We can support each other. Keep up the good work...
