  1. I am looking forward to not feeling like the seatbelt may decapitate me after coming to a fast stop! Or if you have to bend down to pick something up off the floor in the car and the seatbelt starts reeling you back in like some sort of deepsea fish!!! Oh and no more granny panties! Sorry "just my size", it doesn't matter how you try to spin it - assorted fashion colors are not attractive for full-coverage briefs!!!

    Ninja Bl201 Kitchen System Pulse

Thanks Johnathan!! I was just about to post a question about blenders. I've seen lots of folks post about using the magic bullet, but it has horrible reviews. Good to know there are other options!

    My Texas Sleevers

Hi KSDallas, Best of luck to you!! I hope everything goes well for you! I am in Dallas too!
  5. I just came across this story: http://www.wfaa.com/news/health/5-children-in-custody-after-mom-dies-from-DVT-at-Greyhound-station-in-Dallas-161598875.html and am reminded again why it's so important to get this surgery done!!! A woman died from DVT (morbid obesity considered the contributing factor) after traveling cross-country with her 5 kids! The children are now all in state custody... Tragic!!

    Need A Little Encouragement

Ohboy - I had my first experience with Bucees a few weeks back when we went to Corpus Christi for vacation. We stopped at the one in New Braunfels - that location is supposed to be the biggest convenience store in the world! I was in shock walking in to that place... Not to mention the hordes of people buying $2.99/gallon gas!!! Does your hotel room have a mini-fridge with a freezer inside it? Going with Darla5060's advice, maybe you can send your husband to the store to get you some SF popsicles!

    Dr. Kim

Wow, you must have a great policy then! I hope I don't have to wait too long after the 3-month track is done... I have a BMI of 45 with HBP and sleep apnea, so I'm hoping I won't have any problems being approved. BTW - Congrats on your success thus far! 50 lbs gone in 1.5 months is fantastic!!!!!!

    Dr. Kim

Thanks for sharing, jns! Very funny story! (maybe not at the time!) When I first met Dr. Kim I thought to myself "geeze he looks so much older in person!" He looks all young and non-wrinkled on TV and on his website! Makeup and airbrushing aren't just for supermodels - LOL!!!

    Dr. Kim

ijam, Thanks for all the great info! He is a bit stand-offish, I agree, but I wasn't there to chit-chat and he answered all my questions and I feel really confident moving forward with him. A few years ago I considered having lap-band but turned out my insurance at that time had an exclusion so I didn't really pursue it. (Which turned out to be a blessing because now I have a much better surgery option with the sleeve!) The clinic I went to then was a pretty well-known one, especially for lap-band, and at my initial consult I didn't even get to meet the surgeon so I was impressed to actually meet Dr. Kim on my first visit! You said you are with Aetna. Did you go through them for the surgery or did you self-pay? Just curious because it looks like you had your surgery really quickly after your initial consultation. I have to go through a 3-month track before they can submit for approval. Anyways thanks so much for responding
  10. Hi All, Just curious if any of you have lost shoe size(s) after being sleeved? I would dearly love to be able to buy CUTE shoes and not orthopedic monstrosities once I join the losers bench (hopefully in October!). It's not much fun shopping for a size 11W shoe! uGh! Cheers!

    Lose A Shoe Size?

I haven't worn rings, toe or otherwise, in over 7 years... can't wait to be able to wear them again! And bracelets and necklaces!! Charming Charlie is on my "to do list" once I reach goal weight! :tongue2:

    Texas Forum?

Also a lot of us DFW folk that have (or will soon!) Dr. Kim as their surgeon I start my 3-month insurance approval track as of July 19. Hoping to get approved and sleeved sometime in October! It's fun to read about all the success stories. Glad you are all doing well after surgery!

    Texas Forum?

Howdy! I'm in (far north) Dallas! Just starting my journey and hoping to get insurance approval (Aetna) by early to mid October. Had my first consult with Dr. Kim on June 15 and will have my first NUT appointment on July 19th.

    Crystal Lite

Perhaps this is what they were referring to? http://2littlemuffin...faction-vs.html Doesn't look like it's an active product for Kraft/Crystal Light anymore, but you can purchase them through Amazon: http://www.amazon.co...y/dp/B001OCBSZO
