  1. Punkin do you feel like you might have sleep apnea? I wouldn't be surprised a bit if I did, but it isn't likely ill have to do a sleep study. My surgeon doesn't even do upper gi on every patient unless he suspects a problem. I hope you don't have to pay yourself, that's a big chunk of change!

Less than 4 weeks to my consultation- I wish it would be tomorrow so I could ask all my questions & get the ball rolling ya know? I see everyone on that day- the nutritionist, personal trainer, psychologist, doctor and insurance specialist.

  2. My heart feels for you as I am almost in the same identical scenario. I started doing some strength training last week hoping that post surgery my body will be more efficient in burning calories. Id love to stay in touch as we still have a long time to anticipate being banded.

Punkin let's for sure stay in touch, if we are on the same journey timing wise we can be a great support to each other!

Thanks everyone who responded and was supportive, its just nice to know you aren't alone when you feel like this!

  3. I am at a family bbq for the 4th, and I am miserable. It's close to 100 and I am 245 lbs. I am determined that for our bbq on the 4th next year I will be ay least 50 lbs lighter, if not more. I should be banded some time in December, and until then I am hot, sticky, sweaty, and miserably fat. I am wy the start of my 6 month diet, but can't truly diet because I am literally 2 lbs away from 40 bmi and so I still have to wear weights to my consultation on the 25th. Today, I am more determined then ever to be banded and be helped to lose weight.

  4. So I have been researching vsg just to reassure myself that lap band is the best route for me; I already knew I didn't want anything to do with rny. So I've been lurking on vsg talk and I can't believe what band haters they are. Is there some unspoken agreement to make bandsters or those considering it feel awful?

Something I learned today about the sleeve is most folks end up lactose intolerant and that's something I absolutely do not want.

  5. Me too just a thing! I totally can't wait, I was looking at photos from a family activity we did 2 weeks ago and I can't believe how fat I am! If I was insure of the band before, that just made me realize how much I truly need some serious help!

I am just starting my 6 month diet so I am pretty far out, but I will get there!

  6. I remember being where you are. Sometimes it feels like you're on the verge of a great and wonderful journey' date=' and then other times it's like you're standing on the edge of a cliff with no parachute. Wholly crap, what have I done? LOL

It sounds like you've got your head screwed on straight so we're looking forward to your posts and progress.

    This is so true!

  7. Lemon seed in throat will grow to what's called "lemon-mouth" condition shown in Figure 1a below.

    Figure 1a

Left untreated within a week you will experience the phenomenom of full body & mind conversion into a pop girl-boy band group appropriately named Lemonade Mouth as shown below in Figure 2b. It's best you speak to your physician immediately.

    Hahahahahaha oh I'm dying here.

  8. So....I am at a 40.0 bmi right now exactly. My insurance pays for lap band at a 40.0, ir 35 with 2 co morbidities, and I only have 1. Okay fine, so I qualify because I am at 40.0 bmi great. But they also require a 6 month diet which I am just starting... There is no doubt I will lose at least 3 lbs, and drop below 40.0 bmi since I am barely there to start. This would mean I will not be eligible for surgery, correct? So why even start this process!

So frustrated. This happen to anyone else?
