  1. Its official...after 2 weeks of frustration and being so close..I DID IT! I made it to 170 so that means I am no longer obese and am just overweight...how cool is that?! 100lbs lost total. 89 pre surgery and 11 post surgery. Not losing fast after surgery but I am happy with the loss I have had. 4 pound gain in hospital and the hard work I have lost 15 pounds this first month. 45 pounds to go till goal...So happy today!

  2. So excited for everyone....almost the whole group is sitting on the losers bench. It amazes me that we all have the same surgery and such different stories. I know we will all lose at a different rate and those who start with a lower BMI usually?? lose slower. I guess when everyone else is losing high numbers its like why is that not me...Dang it! I am one pound away from 100 lb lost. But only 12 of that is really since surgery. I know I have done great and I feel fantastic. Just wanted those big numbers like everyone I keep reading about. My personal goal is 125 bls so I am only 45 lbs from goal. I think a realisitc goal to get there would be around Christmas time. I am going to keep doing what I do best and that is watching what goes in and what else I am doing to help me get there. I am two weeks post op today. My Dr said not physical fitness till first post op appointment which is for Sept 6. Today I am going to go and do a bit more school shopping...3 boys chomping at the bit for the rest of the supplies.

My energy level is good, but I know I am not getting all the fluids in, and tomorrow is the day to start eating food. I wonder the balance? More food better Protein or more Water the best bet. I know that I will get the answers I just need to continue to be positive and work hard.

  3. Hi everyone,

Wishing you all good luck today and all those who have already gone, a speedy recovery. I am 8 days post op and feeling better today than I have since surgery. I even slept in...really really slept in till 10:00am. I must be needing to catch up on sleep. I even awoke sleeping on my tummy, yeah back to normal for me. Not the sleeping in part, I am usually a 5am kinda girl but the tummy sleeping. So excited for the new opportunities this surgery is going to give my family and I. Also, need to admit, post op reovery has been so easy with my children gone with their dad, he took an extra cycle off work to give me 10 days recovery time...he is a great dad! My house has been very quiet, and clean LOL. I have 5 more weeks at home and I think I will go a bit stir crazy, might have to start going for longer walks once school starts. (all the boys will be gone all day, BORING for mom at home)

Take care everyone and the after surgery journey is a good one...each day life gets better and better!

  4. So my husband decided today easy day to start Liquid Protein diet. I said.Dr, does not require me to do pre OP diet. He said, give yourself the best and healthiest chance of success. Grrr, dang men. Hate it that in my heart I know he's right but I've lost 70+ preop already. I was thinking id do 5 day but nope he figures 21 days. Ugh, I honestly didn't think he was really paying attention to what was required and what wasn't. So after many hours of being tired and hungry....it's time for bed. I had a coffee, Greek yogurt 9gr Protein, and two shakes worth 27 & 24 gr protein each. Total calories 90,130,150....not enough for me. I hope the dictator lightens up tomorrow. LoL. I do love him, and actually after all the whining know he's just wanting me to be healthy.

  5. Just 22 days away...I'm so extremely excited. Only 3 Weeks left till the beginning of my new life. What's the first thing that comes to your mind, when thinking about your new life. My new life will be the beginning of the firsts. First to buy small small clothes, first to buy a swimsuit, first to scubadive, first to skydive....oh the life I see is far more exciting than the one im leaving behind.

  6. That's quick, and not through weight wise? Didn't know they did it solo. Can you explain how? I have a date of Aug 14, started in march so, I figure I'm lucky, however a friend is in need, and is expecting a year wait :( my surgery is with Dr.DeGara, no pre OP liquid diet but I've lost 70 pounds pre so that could be why. Looking forward to hearing from you.
