  1. Forgot to say I'm back home. Dr. Only kept me 1 night. JD,did your Dr. Give you anything like extra antibiotics while he kept you the extra night?
  2. Thank you very much for responding to my post! Sounds like I should be a little concerned. I plan to take it again in the morning
  3. Hi All, I am 1 day post op and have a slight fever (99.5). I usually run low, average temp around 97.6. Does everybody develop a low grade temp? I am hoping this is normal. Surgeon's nurse said if I developed a temp of 101.5 that I should call them. Thanks!
  4. Hi, Dr. Hoehn will do my sleeve on Wed! Sept. 5 (coming right up) at prairie star in Lenexa. I'll let you how I do :-).
  5. That is SO awesome! I so hope that will be me in 6 months! Have you exercised a lot?
  6. Wow, I'm really getting concerned with my surgeon and NUT. They allow full liquids and purées at 3 days! post op and regular food at 2 weeks! I think I am going to slow things down by about a week. Does anybody NOT agree with that? Thanks!
  7. I have actually been considering modifying my surgeon's recommendations. He says go right to full liquid/purees after Day 3 and it looks to me like everyone else waits at least an additional week. I figure what can it hurt to slow things down just a bit.
  8. Wow, how totally fascinAting! Thanks for sharing that!
  9. Hi Michelle, Just curious, why would having MS prevent you from being able to have the sleeve? Thanks!
  10. I'm glad to know this may be a possibility. I'm 44 (ugh) and wondering about whether surgery might send me into early menopause---I so hope not!! Does anyone out there know if this is possible? On an aside, been finally ordering all of my supplies tonight online (we live in the middle of nowhere!) so I feel like I'm finally close to being ready for this surgery on Sept 5!! Yes, I'm really going to do it. Dr. Hoehn in Kansas City will be my surgeon. Thanks to everyone for posting on this site. It has been so helpful to read; just wish I had more time to read them all! My little guy starts kinder in 2 days (BOO HOO!) so I should have a little more time to do that--I hope.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions! I wonder too though how something with 0 sugar can have such high carbs?!
  12. Hi everyone, Just a quick question-I will have my sleeve on Sept 5 and have been trying to watch labels. How is it that the Sobe water I had today had 0 grams of sugar (and 10 calories per bottle), but. 19 grams of carbs. I don't get it it. Thanks, Angela
  13. Yes, there are surgeons. If you're like me and are only able to stay at that BMI because of excessive, dangerous diet pill use, I have found an understanding surgeon who operates on the lower BMI ones. My BMI is 32.5.
  14. Oh, wow, Kellie, I'm so glad for you! And you're making me feel even more excited about having my surgery on 8-15. I can't wait to read what some of the more experienced ones have to say. I certainly hope it lasts. I've never heard of anyone having a re sleeve. Could that be possible with already having 80% of our stomachs gone??
  15. Oh, thank you to everyone for being so understanding and for the words of warning about what might happen with our Dr.'s if we gain! I was worried like the 1 person who posted that said they were afraid everyone would preach about how bad our behavior is. It is sooo nice to have support from people who know the struggle!
  16. So glad you posted about this because I have been doing the same thing and was going to post a question about it too tonight! Really, what are we thinking? But then again, it is just proving to me how much I do need this surgery. I'm going to have to slow it down though because I don't want to buy bigger sizes to get me by until the surgery.
  17. Hi msstori, I am assuming you will be having your surgery at KC Bariatrics?? Dr. Hoehn will do my sleeve there on 8-15. Do you mind writing me and telling me who will do your surgery? Thanks, angela324
  18. Hi, This is Angela. Just got my surgery date for the Sleeve the other day for Aug 15 with Dr. Hoehn in Lenexa, KS. I'm so excited for all of us and wish I would have known about this surgery years ago! Now I'm going to begin making my shopping list. Dr.'s nurse said I should only need to fast for 1 week due to being a lower BMI. I'll find out more during next appt on 23rd.
  19. I am hoping to have my VS surgery with Dr. Hoehn. I am from West Central IL, but went to graduate school at Wash U. I had considered going with Dr. Wagner in St. Louis, but Dr. Hoehn sounds more experienced with the procedure and is cheaper. I am now just waiting to hear from the office regarding when my first appt will be with Dr. Hoehn. I will also be self pay.
