Fever, Mild,1Day Post Op

Hi All, I am 1 day post op and have a slight fever (99.5). I usually run low, average temp around 97.6. Does everybody develop a low grade temp? I am hoping this is normal. Surgeon's nurse said if I developed a temp of 101.5 that I should call them. Thanks!

I ran a low fever right after surgery, 99 -101, so the doctor made me stay an extra nite. but he said it was some what normal. Are u still in the hospital or r u home? If it doesn't go away by tomorrow u shoud call ur doctor or go to the ER just to be safe. Hope u feel better soon!

I never had a fever. Hope you feel better soon. I would check with your dr.

Thank you very much for responding to my post! Sounds like I should be a little concerned. I plan to take it again in the morning

Forgot to say I'm back home. Dr. Only kept me 1 night. JD,did your Dr. Give you anything like extra antibiotics while he kept you the extra night?

I had a fever for 4 days after surgery. I had a bad uti from the catheter. But a fever is your body's response to something knocking its system out of balance like a major surgery. If it gets higher I would be concerned but a low grade one isn't much to worry about
