I had my surgery july 2nd and is put in a liquid diet for a month.....soo far so great! I lost 7 kilos and always drinking protien and hydrated!

BUT I will be starting mushy food in 4 days and I am worried as I don't want to put on weight.... I am paranoid I feel if I eat I will put back the 7 kilos.... will I???? Am really nervous ....

Also what mushy food is low fat and filling other than eggs, porridge, cottage cheese and yoghurt? What else can I eat? Any ideas guys?

Hey am 19 too and was banded at July 2nd! It's good to hear you are recovering well! The liquid diet will get easier I can assure you! Am excited about the first fill! But abit anxious! update me with how you are doing! X

Its not an infection! Thank god! Doctor said it's just still healing!!

I had that happen to me! Just call your dr. And them them and they should call in a prescription for an antibiotic! Mine happened on the port site and the one just above the belly button!

Same mine is on the port side!!!!!! how long did it take to go away?

Had my surgery July 2nd everything went well until the past 3 days one of my sutures is releasing a tiny bit of yellowy discharge on the plaster and I am soo scared it might be an infection . It does not hurt or anything just the discharge does not smell pleasant.

Isit normal? Is it part of the healing process? Please help!! Has it happened to anyone?

I believe it is becausr you've not had your first fill and there is no restriction and the liquid diet weight loss is only temporary' date=' not really for weight loss but to shrink the liver for surgery.

Remember when Oprah did the Medifast diet, as soon as she began solids all the weight came right back. The weight should start coming off once you actually get your restriction. I know it's hard but be patient, it will come off.[/quote']

Yh I remember I am always hungry !!! I can't wait till my first fill!! I just want to lose weight as soon as possible !! It's soo hard to do the liquid diet and not crave food!

I gained weight too!!! Even before any fill!!!!!!

Had my surgery 1 week and a day ago ... Been on a liquid diet since and I lost 2 kilos at the start but weighed myself today and gained it all back. I am craving food but fighting it all! Am soo depressed! Why am I gaining weight? What shall I do? Has this happened to anyone else?

I hope so but it hurts soo bad and I cry soo much when it hurts... Yh the sleeping is bad... Can't wait get better the pains are horrible. How long will they last a week? Can't wait feel normal again and start losing weight

I Can't walk properly and feel terrible... Everytime I move it hurts.... my throat is killing too. How long will it take for things get better? Moving helps right? But it kills whenever I move!:'(

I'm getting banded on Tuesday the 3rd of July' date=' and I have the same concerns you do. I have been on a liquid diet for two weeks now and I am not sure if I have lost any weight at all since I'm too heavy for a regular scale. All you can do is tap down the fear and move on. I've been 90% faithful to my liquid diet, I did slip and have a piece of chicken breast a few days ago. I can only hope for the best. I wish you sucess with your procedure....best of luck! [/quote']

Good luck and I know we will be fine! It's hard to stay faithful to the diet:( but at least you followed it most the time! Don't worry! Hopefully our livers has shrunk! Lets think positive! Let me know how yours go on Tuesday! Good luck!!

I am worried that after doing my one week liquid diet mine won't be small too. I wish there was a way to check lol

I am 19 years old, am having my surgery at spire hospital in London and I am horrified ! Couldn't even sleep today! I keep having bad thoughts, for example what if my liver hasn't shrunk and they close me back!!! I wasn't on a liquid diet they put me on the low carb one.... Only have to eat 1000 calories for 7 days and I have followed it. BUT haven't lost a pound and I am petrified!! My BMI is 38.... Usually people lose weight on their pre op diets! I haven't! how will I know before surgery my liver shrunk? Will i be ok? Advise please!

The #1 thing that helped me get through the liquids was making a list of the 25 reasons I want to lose weight. I read it every time I felt like giving up' date=' and I still do.

If you can, try mixing it up with different textures of liquids. sugar free Jello, sugar free Popsicle, and hot tea. I also literally threw away ALL the food in my house before I started.[/quote']

My surgery is on 2nd July too! I also started my liquid diet and I am going through the same problem and it's increasing as the days go! I get bad headaches too! Keep in contact and let me know how everything is going for u! We can get through this!
