    Cute story for your Monday!

Kids are amazing and much more wise than we give them credit for =) Good luck, you got this!!

    What to tell your kids?

My kids were 7 and 5 and both know I had "belly surgery" to lose weight because I wasn't living a healthy life and needed help to be able to run and bounce and live the life I wanted with them. of course they don't really comprehend the big picture, but I just told them matter-of-factly about it, so it was no big deal to them. I also told their teachers, again, matter-of-factly in case they brought it up at school so it wouldn't be the awkwardness of it all. It is what it is. I have a lap-band. If there were an emergency my kids need to know I have a lap-band. Everyone is different but I am honest with everyone and I think kids can handle way more than we give them credit for!! Good luck!!

    A Blessing In Disguise

My husband also took one for the team and went in for a Vasectomy =) I had two c-sections so he owe'd me I figured! Plus it was probably as painful for him as a bikini wax, procedure on Friday, back to work on Monday LOL. I have a boy and girl and a dog haha.

    cheated..feeling guilty

This image is fabulous!! And so true too....chances are you are retaining salt or need a good BM and not really up two pounds...but if you are just remember it wasn't two pounds that derailed you before...move forward and you can lose them again! I always fluctuate between a few pounds each week but only count my monthly weight loss as my actual weight loss.

    Playing Dress Up

All the time...moving things to the get rid of pile and moving other hidden things to the time to wear it pile. I have tried on my Halloween costume many times now wondering if I'm too old for THAT....lol

  7. This happens to me too! It's not really pain though...just uncomfortable or tender. Also happens during sex on occasion...sorry TMI, or if I'm sitting weird for too long.

    Coming soon

With any procedure there is a risk, but no risk means no reward. If you want the best results follow the rules, simple as that. Of course there is always still a chance for problems but they will be greatly reduced if you are do as you are told. Keep talking to people in our community online, or at a local support group. Read blogs. Make time to put yourself first. You will be glad you did =)

    I can eat

At three weeks out I'm assuming you are on a mashed diet? If so it is not intended to fill you up, only to be gentle on the stoma while your stomach continues to heal. Only when you are on complete solids will you really know if you need a fill, until then unfortunately you will have to keep track of what you are eating and try to stay fill will drinking as much calorie free liquids as possible all day long.

    TMI: Chaffing??

I don't have a problem but I kinda wish I did because of Missy's reasoning! I have heard of people using a deodorant stick, not even kidding. Good luck!!

    How much fill?

I have been thinking the same thing! I have 2.5 and really don't feel like I need another fill!! When I eat the way I'm supposed to I feel fine with the right serving sizes. Everyone is different I guess but I agree with your concern, people have huge fills and I wonder how the heck they are eating anything!

    Grilled Cheese

I love grilled cheese, and all sandwiches for that matter. I have no problem with bread. The ONLY time I have ever PB'd was a reheated pizza crust in a microwave that would have choked anyone!!

    A Blessing In Disguise

I went apeshit on the IUD...I already have emotional and anxiety problems and it was so bad I actually took a swing at my husband who is NOTHING but loving and supportive because he stepped into an argument between me and my mother. IUD came out the following week and he went in for a vasectomy instead. You are kinky, girl. I love it. =)

    Breakfast

I stock up on Atkins Advantage shakes and bars for when I don't have time to make a scrambled egg. Sometimes I make a coffee (hot or iced) and eat a Mini Babybel Light cheese (I buy the huge bag from our local warehouse store). For when I'm home I found that WeightWatchers SmartOnes's has some good breakfasts that fit with the program as well...Good luck =)

    Not enough calories?

That's pretty normal for the phase you are in....you will eat a little bit more as you go. My daily goal is 999 cals but I can usually eat about 1200 because I also walk/jog a 5K a few times a week and so I get some cals back. I am starting to learn it's less about cals per day and more about healthy choices with me though.

    A Blessing In Disguise

It's actually not like a tampon string, it's more of a wire so it stays strait and doesn't bend up into the cervix....

    A Blessing In Disguise

My Hubs knew it was in there the whole time but I had to go in TWICE to get it trimmed because it was poking LOL. Amongst other problems I had as in I went crazy but that's another story....

    A Blessing In Disguise

Wow...that's...too funny =) I had an IUD after I had my two kids and it didn't work out well for me at all so listen to your body that's all I'm gonna say! As for pulling out.....tell him about the IUD girl...that's the BIG MOMENT!!! I think it's crazy when people say they do that LOL!!! Luckily my Hubs had the big snip before my surgery so it has been all good. And just like you it's always me ready to rock and roll.....hahaha!

    Getting to know my body

What a wonderful feeling, you deserve it! (We all do.) I can't believe that I am eating probably 1/3 of what I used to and I'm satisfied!! Good luck and keep up the good work =)
  23. Who are we kidding?? I had SEVERAL last meals....my last Chinese buffet, my last frozen pizza, my last Big Mac....little did I know I didn't have to go through all the trouble because I still have those things, just much less and much less often. There is no harm in a last minute gorge as long as you are committed to your new lifestyle....GOOD LUCK =)

    Eating out.

Yes, I went to a major Italian chain this weekend and had soup and salad where everyone had huge plates of pasta and the waiter said...and how about your main course? Um...that IS my main course haha! Welcome to the club!

    A caution about fills

Yep. I only have 2.5 cc in my 10cc band and yes I can down a bag of cheetos but I know that isn't my band needing to be tighter. When I eat the way I'm supposed to eat (firm lean Proteins first) I do feel restriction with a cup of food and do stay full longer. It's a mind game!! I want this band to last my lifetime so I am okay with not being too filled, I think it will make my maintenance portion even better!
