Stef - I am in Missouri. I would appreciate any help or advice you can give. I have not heard back from any of the companies I submitted info to. Ashley - Congrats! that is very exciting and I am sure makes your goal seem doable! :whoo: I am excited to have under 100lbs to lose! Toni - I am so sorry you are having so much trouble. You are such a positive spirit on this board, I wish you the best. I hope you can find a sweet spot.

JoJo - I hope you don't have H.Pylori, but if you do I wish you a speedy diagnosis. Hubby finished his first round of antibiotics/Prevecid on Friday. He felt a little better, but by Sunday, things were burning again. He saw the doc on Monday and started on another 14 day regimen. They say it can take 2 or 3 rounds of drugs to clear it up. Hopefully he will keep progressing. CB you ROCK. I hope you will still hang around with us! Not much to report, I am up to 80lbs loss which I love. A lot of stress though with planning for the job, moving, kids school and selling the house - especially the selling part because the Realtor said it will probably be at least 6 months! I have contacted several of those we will pay cash for your home places though, so hopefully I can work a deal with them. hope everyone is having a good week. Keep pushing your docs for fills and get to your sweet spot. It is so worth it!

Thanks BigBaby! Good for you on the gym, I wish I could get myself moving. As someone pointed out when I move to Nashville, I will be by myself for awhile, so I will have no kid excuse not to work out. Maybe I will join one then.

the bowl I use is the smallest in the container set I have. It holds 1 1/2 cups of liquid all the way to the top. So I probably have a 1 cup of food at a meal when I can eat the whole thing. He said that size was just about right, he said think about eating a portion about the size of your fist. Dawn - how scary for you! I am glad you had the presence of mind to pull over! I would agree with the esophageal spasm - they can mimic some heart attack symptoms. I think that is what happened to husband after he had his scope a couple of weeks ago. He was fine when we got home, he helped me get ready for a party we were having and then said he was going upstairs to shower, I told him to go on to bed. My daughter came down a hour later and said - Daddy is sleeping on the floor. I ran upstairs and found him passed out - I have no idea how long he was there. I was able to get him up and in to bed. He was in pain, but was able to lie down and go to sleep, he got up the next morning and was okay except for all his on going issues. Very scary! On the husband front - things seem to be improving still. He is able to eat more things and has been having left overs from our Mexican dinner on Sunday - except the beef. He goes in Monday for a blood test to make sure the H.Pylori is out of his system. Off to bed - another early flight in the morning!

Janine - the Chiefs lost at home - very bad! JoJo - we are almost in the exact same spot - COOL. I am sorry you have not been feeling well. If you read back you will see my husband's trial and tribulations with his journey. He is on day 10 of pills to treat H.Pylori. CJ - saw the doc today, no fill for me and he said I am not too tight. I took a bowl with me to show him how little I eat. He said that is just about perfect, so I am happy. I have a little over 7.0 in my small AP band, I think. I had lost 14lbs since seeing him a month ago, so he said I am doing great. Rhonda - yes exciting and scary! I had held off on another job to get the band and it was a great decision, because this new job is better and within my same company, so I keep my seniority. Sweetthinkr - welcome! stick around we are good group. LadyHR - have them order you a phenergan suppository. I had to use mine from when I had surgery a couple of weeks ago. It worked well to control the nausea for me. You shouldn't have to use pills. I am off to Nashville again on Wed. Meeting with the group that will now be my peers! Have a great week :-)

thanks Suzzzie - we should try to get together before we move. You are right I am sure we could all share and have left overs. Thanks Insub - it was the most time I have spent interviewing before. I really didn't know what else to say! But more motive to keep the weight loss up! I think I am actually a little too tight, but it could be because of all the travel and excitement going on, so I am going to hang with it. I see my surgeon on Monday and I am going to take the bowl I usually eat out of to show him how little I eat and see what he thinks. Unfortunately it may be my last time with him, but I know there are surgeons in Nashville, because our largest facility there does the band. We almost traveled there to get it done before one of our facilities started doing them in KC. (I work for HCA) I am okay being a little too tight as long as I am not causing damage. I can eat and drink without pain and I love the weight loss. 75lbs down this morning! Have a great Sunday everyone. I have to get ready for the little one's party! GO CHIEFS!

Hi All - I made it back from Nashville last night and have been running around all day like crazy getting ready for my DD b-day party tomorrow. They offered me the job and offered me the first amount I asked for, so I probably should have asked for more! :-) I am SO scared about moving though. I never sold a house before and now I have one to sell and move out of state. I will probably end up going by myself for awhile until we can sell the house. So that is scary also, plus adds additional monthly payments, that will take up all of the raise I will be getting I think! I know in the end it will be well worth it, but dang it is scary. I had lunch with the person that will be my boss. This is the first time I have eaten with someone that didn't know I had the band. I tried really hard to eat something, but all I could get in was a couple pieces of chicken and some cucumbers from the salad I ordered. It was very obvious, so he asked if I wanted to stop at McDonald's on the way back! He kept worrying about it all the way back to the office, so I had to tell him. Kind of embarrassing, but he is a very nice guy, so no worries. Is anyone from Nashville? (I don't remember seeing anyone that was) Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Congrats Stef on the clothing! I had my own NSV with clothing yesterday. I have to go back to Nashville for another round of interviews and all my business clothes are TOO big. (I started at a 5X at Catherine's) I went in to Catherine's and pulled all 4X off the shelf to try on, since I had no idea what size I was. I was happy to find that all of them were too big! I had to go down to a 3X (22/24). When I was trying tops on I had my own pants on and realized how horrible they looked, they were a 5X and I had been wearing them all day. So I ended up buying pants as well as tops and got rid of my old ones when I got home. Today I have on zip up pants for the first time in 4 years and they aren't even tight! I know I am still HUGE, but when I look in the mirror I feel pretty good now. What a difference 73lbs makes! Only 105 more to go :-)! Dang Suzzie I am jealous, I would love to have a personal trainer to get my butt in gear! Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Welcome Back CD - funny when I posted last night I was thinking - how long before Captain Dan gets back? Then you ended up right under mine! 2 1/2 cups does sound like a lot at one time, but if I know you it is all healthy stuff - right? You have done so well, I am sure you are fine, but it is probably time for a fill. Most meals for me are 1/2 cup maybe 1 cup if I am lucky, but as Janine said, I would imagine that men would need a little more.

Thanks all for the well wishes for my husband. Knock on wood - I am not having any hair loss. Unfortunately once again my poor DH is. I think you can see in his pic on the other thread that he has LONG red hair. He has been growing it for years now. We were used to some shedding, but WOW, he could almost make an entire wig in a couple of weeks out of what he is losing. Hopefully he will be able to get some good Protein in soon and stop the fall out! Java - you go right ahead and toot your horn. You are so encouraging to everyone else, you deserve to. Rhonda - sorry the kid blabbed, they do that though. I pretty much know everything the father of my oldest one does, because he blabs when he gets home. Hard telling what he says about me when he is over there! Good Job on getting rid of the problem Stef. I wish I had the will power, but once it is in the house it is gone. We have been good about keeping things out, but I had a party a couple a weekends ago and had left over brownies. I think I had 4 or so and then I begged my husband to take the to work.
  15. Cerrin - no that does not seem wrong. I did the same thing, even though I really needed them for work. I have recently had to throw out all of my 4-5x clothes. I had some smaller clothes in my closet for who knows how long that fit again, so I am wearing those now. I am going to try to minimize my clothing purchases until I can wear a regular size instead of a womens. I have to go buy some clothes for an interview I have though, so I am interested to see what sizes will fit.

Thanks Ashley - it has been a long road. He hasn't eaten solid food since early August. We were worried about the pills going down, but he had all fluid removed from his band, so thankfully they are going down okay. Before his scope and the diagnosis, we were thinking he was going to have to have the band removed, but hopefully this will fix the issues and he will be back on track soon.

I think it is important for all of us to remember - we are losing! Even if we are all not losing at the same rate or we are maintaining and gaining muscle, we are NOT gaining weight. ItsJustme - If you feel like you have to stop eating, instead of the band making you stop, you may want a slight fill. I have had 4 fills (with an unfill after the 3rd). I have at least 7cc in my small AP band (forgot to ask last fill). I am definitely at my sweet spot, but it will be different for everyone. I can eat anything but bread, I do not slime or PB, just a slight discomfort in my chest if I eat too fast. I can only eat 1/4-1/2 cup of food at a time, which doesn't seem like much, but I am happy with it right now. Except of course when my binge mentality kicks in! In other news - my interview in Nashville went well, I am going back for further interviews on Thursday and Friday. My husband is finally on medication for his H. pylori. It is a 14 day pack of Prevacid and 2 antibiotics, he has to take twice a day. He is starting to feel hungry, so hopefully he is on the mend. He is hoping to get one good meal in before he goes back for a fill :-)! He is down 117lbs, but it has been a very rough way to lose it, definitely would not recommend it. Happy Monday everyone! Another day in this amazing journey.

You are NOT the only one. I think about that way more than I would like. Even going so far as to think -when I get to goal, maybe I can relax and eat again! YIKES certainly not the right frame of mind for maintenance! Thank goodness for my band and great restriction or I would definitely be back off the wagon again. I finally hit 70lbs down today! I know I said I wasn't going to weigh until next week, but I couldn't stand it, I had to see what my TOM was doing to me. I got a very pleasant surprise that I was down another pound! If I can lose weight now, I know my band is working! Java - congrats on ONEderland!:whoo::whoo: GO CHIEFS! they pulled another one out today!

Suzzzie - hate to say this, but increased heartburn is a sign of being too tight.... If you aren't seeing your doctor soon, it wouldn't hurt a call to him. Wow all that talk about exercise made me tired! Maybe some day I will get my butt in gear just to keep up with you guys.

Rhonda - LOL I know, I much prefer my oatmeal made with milk, but I even skip the skim milk and go for water to save a few carbs. The peanut butter definitely helps the flavor, but does add some fat. Oh well - everything is a trade off! I can barely get 1/2 cup in so I figure I am doing okay. Man do I hate this time of the month! I can't seem to get enough in to not be hungry. I am not even going to get on the scale for another week. I really wanted to hit the 70lbs lost by the end of the month, but I am afraid I am going to be stuck a few lbs away. (I was back up a couple of lbs this morning from my ticker, but I refuse to change it!) Suzzzie - how goes the eating and drinking today?? Happy Friday everyone! Hope you have a great weekend!

Welcome Mellie - glad you finally found us! We are a supportive bunch and always glad to have new friends. Very quiet at the moment though! Where is everyone?
  23. WOW Wheetsin what a difference, you look great! Are you sure you need another 50 off :-)? Michiganer - that day will come. You will have to work at it and get your head in the right place, but I have no doubt that you can do it. I believe if I can do it anyone can. Insub - I know I couldn't believe it! I sat a looked at it for a little while, trying to decide if I should even try. Good thing no one could hear the battle going on in my head! :-)

Suzzzie - what you describe is were I am right now except for the Water. I consider this my sweet spot. I can NOT overeat anything which is just what I wanted. I don't have the pause with liquids though, I can gulp(mostly), but I try not to. Nothing hurts, unless I take a big bite or forget to stop between bites, which I do often! Like you unless it is something I really really want to eat, I just give up and quit eating. I am loving it, but frustrated when I push myself too far. I have said to myself more than once the past couple of weeks - you just had to take another bite, you couldn't just leave it. I hope eventually the want to eat will turn to strictly a need and I will just stop. Rhonda - what about really thin oatmeal, grits, or cream of wheat? That might give you some change in taste - I know they add some carbs, but you don't have to eat a whole serving. My favorite is oatmeal with Peanut Butter melted in it. There is no way I could live on Protein Drinks, I haven't had one since I went off liquids post-op. My surgeon says lean solid Proteins, no need to supplement if you are eating 3 meals a day, so I try to do that. We hope to make the nutritionist meeting some time in the near future, for further advice. Happy Thursday everyone!

you could blame bite size for the meat BUT when water kinda hurts and you have to sip - I would say you need a little unfill. That is what drove me to my unfill. Everything I drank hurt and I couldn't even think about anything solid. This was right after fill, but I have heard it can take a little while to tighten up. They took 1cc out at the time, but on my next fill I ended up with more than that back in and have been fine. Weird how that works. Maybe they could just take .5 out and you would be fine.
