Well I'm a sophomore in college, but I am not sleeved yet. What I can tell you is that many colleges constantly change their menus in order to better accommodate people that want healthier options. At my college there is a restaurant that portions their Snacks in like 3-4 oz portions. My freshman year I ate in my room ALOT. I also cooked a lot in the kitchen. Ill be sleeved in December after finals. I am taking my blender for my Protein shakes, grabbing portioned meals and snacks for lunch from the kiosk, and cooking dinner in my dorm.

I've read where doctors are telling patients to stay off of their birth control pills before and after for a while, but what about Implanon? Does anyone have implanon and had it in place during surgery? I really hope I don't need to take it out, because I still have some time left on this bad boy.

Heyyyy! Congrats on your decision!!! I'm 20 also, and having WLS has been in my mind for a loooong while, but it wasn't until I found this forum I found the courage to do it. I'm 5'5" and around 240 so we arent that different. Plus I think it's awesome that more and more younger people are deciding to do this. Pm me anytime!

I'm going with Dr. Kelly. He has really impressive credentials, and I have double checked them all, so I am confident in him. He quoted me 5500 for everything except airfare.

I am planning on going to Mexico mid December but if something comes up and I don't have enough, I'll be going early January. Who's your doctor?

Hi everyone! I need some guidance and I really hope that someone responds... I was sitting on my bed texting Dr. Kelly's assistant Omar about some things and this man went out of his way to find all of the answers to the questions I had after I told him that it was absolutely fine to not worry about bothering Dr. Kelly right, because I understand that they both are very busy. He responded in about ten minutes and I just started crying! Not the "let me just wipe my tear and sniffle a little" but the "WAAAAAAAH HAAAAAAA HAAAAAAA" Its just that I have been wronged by so many people in my short time on this earth, to me, being mean and inconsiderate is kind of the "default" I guess. I am suprised every single time I speak to someone that genuinely cares! Its true! That's why I read so much on this board everyday! I know my surgery is not until December, but I can't help but sit back and think, "is this really gonna happen?". There has been way too many instances in my life where things like just don't work out. It's not like I'm just having a bad attitude about it, it's just that so many times things just don't follow through, even though I wholeheartedly give 100% of my effort and faith. Is this normal? Well at least normal for someone in this type of situation? Kind of like a too good to be true thing? Has anyone felt like this? Oh, I have been to psychologists and I have faced my demons, straight in the eyes, so I know why I gained weight in the first place, and I am at peace with that. Most of my problems, physical and emotional are because of my weight. I guess I just need an outside perspective from someone that doesn't know me. Its a lot simpler that way. It was when I was rambling around in my closet I found my favorite pair of jeans that had mysteriously disappeared about a year before. I went to try them on and the suckers wouldn't go up past my thighs. Anyways a lot of tugging and pulling later, I managed to pop all of the belt loops! I am so stubborn! I was mad, and in denial, so I went to weigh myself, which I hadn't done in a whiiiiile.... and it was 248. Its the highest I have ever been! That was in January and I have been eating right and exercising and in May, only managed to lose 4 pounds. Then I decided on VSG!

My situation is similar. I decided in May that I wanted to move forward with surgery, but I knew I wouldn't have any time to recover until mid December. I dont know exactly what my date is, but like Omar said, the good thing is that you have free pick on which day you want it done! I think its awesome to have so much wiggle room.

I can't remember the name right off the top of my head, but I know it is Walmart brand and its works in a few hours. I took it once during the day and it took forever to work it seems, so I just wake up in the morning and go. I will look for the bottle in the morning and give you the name of the actual ingredient. I swear its awesome!

It could be acid reflux.

I get constipated a lot! I get the same "full" feeling you are talking about. It gets bad when I am on certain medicines so I just use a natural vegetable laxative once at night time ( its a gradual one, not the explosive type) to get things going, and then it gets a little more regular. I hope this helps.

I haven't gone yet, not until December but Dr. Kelly will be doing it. And I feel really confident that everything will go well because.. #1- I haven't heard of anyone not feeling safe, both on this forum and people I know #2- there aren't any travel advisories for Tijuana. The big places are like Sinaloa and places where the Cartels have strongholds. Tijuana has such a big American presence (or so I've heard) ,you really wont feel "out of place" if you don't speak Spanish. And plus everyone that has gone was well taken care of. I'm sure you will be fine wherever you go, whether here or Mexico . I am extremely confident in my decision and if you have any questions just ask! Good luck on your decision!

Girl my family gave me hell too for deciding on Tijuana, and I'm Mexican... go figure! All I did was check travel the travel advisories. If they give you the green light to travel, then go for it!!z
