  1. I've had to stop my self several times from mindlessly reaching for something. It's like I reach out for a bag of chips on the counter (from the kids) and I have to say "oh' date=' yeah, liquid diet, duh!" lol. I'm so used to just mindlessly grabbing stuff! I have not cheated one time, and don't plan to either. I'm the type that if I take an inch, I take a mile. So no cheating for me.[/quote']

Me neither, there is a bigger reward on 'the losers bench' for all of us :-) you've got the right mind set for sure SophieJsneB! You'll be fine :)

  2. I do fine until about 5pm then I am craving some flavor! I've never had to abstain from food like this. Hardest thing I've done in a long time. I'm about to have a bowl of chicken broth and hopefully that will help. Can I really do this for 10 more days?

YOU CAN DO IT girl;) I'm on day 9 of my liquid diet, my band to sleeve surgery is in 6 days. I WON'T lie to you, days 1-5 were absolutely horrible, but I KNEW that my body was & is still in the process of detoxing from eating incorrectly for so long. Realize that what you think are 'cravings' for food is actually your body ridding itself of the impurities, & it DOES get better. It's 'mind over matter' for me at this point :). Stay strong, you WILL get thru this and on to a new you! (that's what excites me the most, the emergence of the new 'me', a HEALTHY me. Good luck to you ^_^

  3. Thanks New_Hope :-) I'm wondering how I will be able to get it in myself post op. if I might ask, what was your experience from surgery date to now, 3 weeks post op as far as how you felt right after surgery, when you were discharged, and now? How's your energy? How was the pain levels? As far as being satiated, is that immediate?

  4. Hello Everyone :-) I'm 8 days from surgery, had my pre op visit with my dr this morning withy dr and I'm down 8 pounds from being on my full liquid diet that im on till surgery day ^_^ it's truly amazing to watch my body transform even thru what has been a VERY HARSH liquid diet prescribed by my dr. I don't crave food, what has been harsh is my body 'detoxin'g from the years of bad dieting that I admittedly put it thru. The detox symptoms are FINALLY starting to ease up a lot, and I feel SO good today! One of the keys to me is remembering to take your Vitamins, getting in the required Proteins, & drinking plenty of Water.

    Good luck to everyone!

    Vikki H

  5. I'm on day 4 of my full liquid diet b4 my surgery next week and boy oh boy, the detox symptoms were BAD yesterday! It was SOOO hard (the symptoms). BUT my mind is CLEAR - I'm dedicated to making sure my liver is fatty free so that my surgery is successful ^_^

Congrats all sleevers, & MONDO congrats to all July sleevers! ^_^

  6. I'm a little nervous, but not about the surgery as I've been thru that before with my Lap-band. I'm nervous because I prayed for so long to have the opportunity to LIVE a healthy life and it's FINALLY a reality. Plus, the weight loss is much like having a gastric by pass which is good but even more so, KEEPING the weight off has me SO excited. We must definitely keep in touch, I'll send you my email address :-)

  7. @ MsQuel30, congrats to you! I LOVE this site too and am ADDICTED to it! (via my iPhone).

I am getting sleeved two weeks from today, on July 5th, & am getting my blood work done as we speak! :-) The only appt left to do before my band to sleeve conversion is my pre op next week on June 27th. I allspice begin my dr prescribed two week full liquid diet today. My physician performing my surgery is Dr Nirmal Jayaseelan. Who is your Dr.? Congrats again.

  8. Wow that sounds yummy! I'm a band to sleever, surgery scheduled on July 5th. Can you email the recipe to me? Or is there an easier way to copy the info other than taking a lot of screen shots of the entire recipe?

    My email is vhoke1@me.com.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Hey July sleevers! I am also going from a band to a sleeve two weeks from today on July 5th, with Dr Jayaseelan I Dallas, TX. I start my full liquid diet tomorrow after my blood work appt. i was cleared for surgery yesterday by my heart dr, so all that's left after tomorrow's appt is my pre op appt next Thursday on the 27th, then my surgery the week after. This was a hard journey, but God had my back and still does! I can't WAIT to rid myself of this extra 'person' I've been carrying around on me!

  10. Congrats to you! ^_^

My surgery is scheduled for two weeks from today, on Juky 5th (band to sleeve).

My Dr requires a two week full liquid diet because my bmi is 49. If my bmi was somewhat lower, my pre op diet would be different. But the two week liquid diet is fine with me, I've been in them before, and see it as a 'cleansing', & it will truly help my surgeon operate much more successfully without a super fatty liver to have to work around. ^_^

  11. I've heard good things about Dr Alexander, I heard he's really good with revision surgeries. And I pass his office every time I visit my bariatric surgeon, dr Nirmal Jayaseelan, who I've had well over 5 years, he's removing my band and will be converting me to the gastric sleeve in two weeks, on July 5th :-)

    Good luck with your surgery!

  12. Tina, you definitely an inspiration, I too LOVE your 'Tina-ism's' ^_^ I know exactly how Donna feels as I'm bring sleeved on July 5th. I'm SOOO Geeked (excited), but the road to here has been an arduous one. I am currently a bander (5 yrs). & found out in January that my band had failed me and that was the reason for my regaining nearly all of the 80+ pounds I had lost with the band. All of this time prior to finding out my band had failed, "I felt like the failure", I attributed it to my failing marriage and post divorce (Nov of 2012).

Thankfully, my ex & I have remained friends although the divorce was tough Fory entire

    family .

Fast fwd to 1/2012, my lap band dr who I've had for well over 5 years, told me my band had failed me and I must say, that was a monumental 'light bulb' moment for me! I learned that I was NOT the failure, my band was! So... Began the journey to get approved for a band removal & gastric sleeve surgery, the road was HARD, I will not lie to you all, it was HARD. Because I has already had a previous weight loss surgery, my insurance co (who has also been a great co to wk with) now required MUCH more detailed information this go round, but my dr, myself & my body had PLENTY to give to my insurance co in the way ofadditional: (my co-morbidity's...(increased bp meds, cholesterol meds, and learning that I now have a mild case of sleep apnea & now sleep with a CPAP machine, have SEVERE acid reflux desease) . All of these additional conditions i gained after regaining my weight back due to my band failure helped to turn over my appeal and I was fully approved by my insurance co two weeks ago.

I had completed all of my visits, nut & psyche eval, classes, office visits, EGD, & sleep studies.

I did my EKG & Exhocardiogram yesterday by the same heart dr I had 5 years ago and have officially been cleared for surgery two weeks from today :-) I have blood work in the morning, am also starting my two week full liquid diet tomorrow, then I have my pre-op visit wih my dr in the 27th of Jume before my surgery the following week on July 5th.

If I can offer anything, I'd say don't feel like you're alone, because you're NEVER alone on this type of journey. SEEK out support and USE It, that's the ONLY way you will learn as you yourself journey. Peace and blessings, Vikki

p.s., Tina you should start a support group page here if you don't already have one going! ^_^
