  1. Ok I got sleeved on Monday woohoo!!! All went well was discharged the next day but struggled a bit when I came home with pain and gas. My pain was when I would drink so I was only able to drink 2 cups of Water and about 40 gms of Protein shot...today the pain is a little better was taking my liquid Vicodin every 4 hours on schedule to get ontop of the pain...today I didn't need to and the gas has started to dissipate. Only had a bit of nausea not much' date=' only up to 3 cups of fluids right now but if I only get in 4 cups today (the hottest day ever even for Cali) I am ok with that. Not too worried about protein today will try harder tomorrow for protein.[/quote']

Congrats! I get sleeved tomorrow at 12:30pm cst :)

  2. vhoke....good luck with everything. Walk as soon as they allow you to after surgery' date=' it really helps is you have gas pains. Don't try and push yourself once you get home, allow plenty of time for rest so that you heal, and try your best to stay hydrated and get your Protein in. Did you get Isopure, sugar free drinks and broth for your first few days post op?[/quote']

Hi Katie713, thanks is much for tour kind words :-) I do have everything in stock but what worries me is getting my required protein & liquids down. How were you able to achieve this? Should I use maybe a medicine cup so that I make sure that I'm taking small sips instead of gulps? I previously has a band (it's being removed). So the walking I'm going to do as soon as they let me :-) another concern is dehydration after surgery . My new tummy will be very small, how long does it take Clear Liquids to pass thru? These are some of the things I'm not sure of, any advice from all is welcomed :-) thanks Katie713!

    *on the losers bench tomorrow*

  3. Well' date=' this is it! I leave my hotel for the surgeon's office in a couple of hours. Like those who have gone before, I can hardly believe it. My life is about to change forever!

I appreciate the prayers of those who believe in prayer (I do!) and the well-wishes of all. I am mildly nervous, but nothing major at all.[/quote']

    Congrats! :-)

  4. All checked into Forest Park. Preop person will be here soon to get me ready for surgery. I'm SO excited!!

Wow! Are you on Dallas? I'm havin my surgery this Thursday with Dr Jayaseelan at Forest Park Medical Center :-)

Congrats on getting to that losers bench! :-)

  5. I'm using a clap..with a humidifier..and I wake up two or three times a night with my mouth completely dry....so dry I had blisters on my tongue this morning...and cheek is stuck to gums..I think part of it could be I tend to sleep with mouth open more when on my back....

And I cant sleep on side or tummy because of jp drain.

    Anyone else experience this?

Sent from my Kindle Fire using VST.. seopressor plugin

I sleep with a CPAP as well, but don't have a problem with my mouth opening while sleeping with it. I've heard that they have apparatuses made specifically for those CPAP patients that need help keeping the mouth closed during sleep & while using the machine. Good luck to you on that, I can imagine how that feels, when I put my machine in for the night, that first rush of forced air is enough for me to keep my mouth closed during the night ;)

  6. Hi vhoke1' date=' my hospital stay was two days.boy was it good to be home! I'm one week out today![/quote']

That's wonderful to hear! I go this Thursday, july 12th... Had a setback last week & caught nasty stomach flu 4 days before my originally scheduled date of Juky 5th. The stomach flu I caught caused severe diarrhea, lower stomach cramps & passing out on my bathroom floor MULTIPLE times. Have been on strong antibiotics almost a week, will finish tomorrow. Started back liquid diet today per dr, & surgery is Thursday :-)

  7. Hi Nustyle- I tried to quote your question but I keep being redirected to the LilySlim site! Ack!

I am doing great. My smallest incision is a bit weepy' date=' I am a little tired at various times during the day (I just go and nap) and I need help sitting up from lying flat, but otherwise feel good, no nausea, no major pain, no upchucking or anything. I'm in ridiculously rude health actually.

I'm sure everything will go smoothly for you too - xx[/quote']

SOOO happy everything went well for you smoggy! How long was you stay in the hospital?

  8. Getting sleeved tomorrow woohoo!! On Clear Liquids only now' date=' for the second day, yesterday was ok except I had no energy and was drained but i wasn't hungry. I made a pitcher full of juice using a Protein shot adding a lot of Water and a sprinkling of crystal light, ate sugar free Jello, sf popsicles, and chicken broth, btw the best tasting chicken broth imo, is made from chicken base adding hot water to it, tastes so much better than plain broth....good luck everyone![/quote']

Congrats! You're on your way to the losers bench girl! Woohoo!

  9. @vhoke1 sorry to hear all that happened! I'm gonna tell him about everything though! If we have to post pone then oh well. And @phillygirl8133' date=' hope you don't get that mess!! I've been praying mine is just sinuses and it'll clear up SOON![/quote']

That's a wise decision because of the docs go inside of you & find an infection, they will & should close you up & proceed when you're better & have had antibiotics :-) think POSITIVE, you will be fine...good luck on your surgery as well:-)

  10. Well today starts my liquid diet' date=' so far so good..but I've been sick since Thursday. We even left from our vacation to come home a day early bc 4 out of 10 of us got sick. No biggie really, but we were over the beach and sick. Anyways, I'm concerned about what medicines I can/cannot take? I bought tylenol pm liquid night time med. Is that bad? I'm so confused, and I do NOT want to post-pone surgery. It'll be on the 17th..I go to the dr. Monday for pre-op bloodwork and all that. should I tell him I've been sick? Or what? Please help?? Thanks in advance..[/quote']

You definitely want to alert your dr if you are feeling sick or are suck before surgery. I know the thought of postponing your durgery date is not something you want to do, but what you can do is be forthright with any medical conditions thy pop up as its in your best interest that your surgery is successful :) here's a snippet of the medical emergency I went they last Sunday, with my surgery date just 4 days later on Juky 5th :-)

"Health scare group: last Sunday, July 1st, I became severely dehydrated w/ severe tummy cramps, & excruciating diarrhea. I ended up passing out completely on my bathroom floor 3 times, & once in the emergency room where I was until 4am Monday morning. My electrolytes & sodium were very low, & the ER / dr pumped fluids in me, all tests (including CAT scan of my tummy), & vitals came back normal thank goodness. But I was diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis (stomach flu), along with severe dehydration. I was put on a strong antibiotic for a week & my band to sleeve surgery date was postponed (it was originally scheduled for yesterday, July 5th). I've been convalescing all week at home, and making sure to drink plenty of fluids including Gatorade

Having my surgery postponed due to getting sick was no problem at all, what was scary was passing out CONTINUALLY from the dehydration caused by the severe diarrhea, brought on by the culprit that I caught, the stomach flu (yuck).

I'm feeling about 95% and will be having my surgery this coming Thursday, July 12 :-) I'm stoked! ....vhoke1 (Vikki).

*My updated band to sleeve surgery date: July 12, 2012*"

  11. Thanks do much! I'm feeling quite better' date=' my dr out me back on a regular low fat solid food diet so it was wonderful to have scrambled eggs n' oats today;) my surgery will be rescheduled, which is fine with me. I'm home recooperating, and will work from home the remainder of the week as I'm still contagious from the stomach virus I caught :( will keep everyone posted. :)[/quote']

New band to sleeve surgery date is this July 12, 2012 (6 days :)

  14. vhoke1~ That has to be miserable. I hope that you feel much better very quickly!

  15. Health scare group:, the full liquid diet I've been on to prepare for surgery July 5th caused me to become dehydrated yesterday w/ severe tummy cramps, & excruciating diarrhea. I ended up passing out completely on my bathroom floor 3 times, & once in the emergency room where I was until 4am this morning. The ER / dr pumped fluids in me, all tests & vitals came normal & diagnosis was dehydration. I feel a ton better. This Texas heat n' humidity ain't no joke...I thought I was hydrating myself adequately, but was not :-( At home drinking Gatorade per the ER dr's orders, also have a small urinary tract infection with prescribed meds. Waiting for my surgeon to call back now, most likely my surgery will be delayed & that's fine with me, dehydration is nothing to play with o_O will keep you all posted....vhoke1 (Vikki).
