  1. So I guess I should refrain from posting all those nude pics I just took huh? Darn, well PM me if your interested!

    I keed I keed!

Well OP I think you look great! So if you decide to ever root for my team... (In my best Carly Ray Jepsen singing voice) Call me maybe!

Okay I'm in a silly mood today lol but point is you look great! And obviously not at all offended here lol :)

  2. Absolutly. At my heaviest (over 380lbs) I had so much pain. I could hardly walk a block with out pain in my legs. I also have very bad knees and the pain was horrible. Living in NYC and not being able to walk, as you can imagine was horrible. I couldn't live life. Fast forward to now, down 78lbs and I sprint down the block in record time. I'm able to climb subway stairs with ease. I can live life again. I do still have knee pain because I just have bad knees in general but it's night and day compared to where I was. So yes it has improved my pain a million percent!

  3. Well I'm n the same boat I have Medicaid with amerigroup but they have gave me the blues no for 6months I'm switching to Athena next Friday on the first of march I pray that I have more success with them.......

    IN GOD I TRUST.......

Most insurances require you wait 6 month and do a supervised diet, not just Medicaid. Just a heads up because Atena may make you wait also.

  4. Wow you learn something new all the time! Pretty sure I have both of these conditions. I have knots that form under my armpits pretty regularly that hurt sometimes and if squeezed contain puss.

And the darkening between my thigh has always bugged me. I tend to get pimples there too very often. The raising of the skin- especially on the back of my neck has been there since I was a pre teen. I found out a while ago that was caused from insulin resistance so it's interesting to read more on this here. The darkening of the skin also has always existed under my arms and my neck also. Growing up my mom would assume it was dirt and make me scrub till I was raw. I felt so bad about myself. It's refreshing to read these things are common!

  5. It's a few weeks since this post and I'm happy to report I'm down to 301 :) I think my body was just in a stall mode, I rode it out and I'm losing again, though the 300's are hanging on for dear life lol. 2lbs to go!

Tinesha good luck to you! The scale will move again for you, it did for me! Just keep at it! :)

  6. As far as the calorie intake. I know to lose the weigh that you must stay under 600 cals. No it's not enough to live off of. By my 2 oz stomach will not holdall that food and liquids in one day. Or I will be calling Earls in the toilet.

Hi there welcome! Congrats on your weight loss so far! Though I'm a bit concerned by your calorie in take. Staying under 600 calories a day, especially at over 5 months out seems low to me. Did your NUT tell you to stay under 600? The number I see aimed for during the weight loss stage is usually 600-800 a day. Your body could be in starvation mode taking in under 600 calories a day. Now that your a little further out try bumping them up a bit.

    Good luck!

  7. I'm Italian. Pasta was my vice pre op. I ate it at least 3 times a week, any way you can imagine. Post op I've made it once. I switched to whole wheat Pasta about 7 years ago and now I don't even miss the other stuff, so if you DO indulge in pasta I suggest whole wheat. I've been lucky enough to tolerate everything I've eaten, even rice and pasta, but it does fill me up way faster. I say indulge on occasion, try whole wheat and be smart about it. Eat high Protein low carb all day on a day where you splurge on pasta for dinner and enjoy. :)

I agree with Iggy, I didn't have surgery so I could never eat these things again. I know a lot of people stay away from these things in the WL stage, but for me- someone who had a very high starting weight- my WL stage is going to be much much longer then someone who had a small amount to lose and I just am not willing to put my life on hold until then.

So indulge once in a while and be smart about your choices and you should be fine :)

  8. I'm Robin, I'm 24 from NYC (The Bronx) Single, no kids. I want to find Mr. right one day but don't think I'm quite there yet. I went to school for fashion marketing, interning for a shoe company now doing marketing and marketing research for them. Hopefully it will help me land a better job down the line. I'm in the middle of making some life transitions so not exactly sure where my professional life is going lol

I like to watch movies, love horror movies! Love to cook (I'm a big foodee. Even post sleeve that hasn't chanced) I love fashion and clothes. Halloween is the best holiday. I'm already psyched to find an awesome costume this year now that I'm smaller! I had surgery on November 14th 2012 and I'm down 77lbs all together so far (20 pre op) I feel great! :)

  9. Hi you all! I've haven't posted many progress pictures on here so I figured what the heck! I'm 3 months out (about a week late lol) I'm down 77lbs so far. I have a ways to go, but I'm getting there! I feel fantastic! I have so much energy and haven't felt this good since I was 18! I'm down from a size 26/28 to a 22. Only 2 pounds until I get out of the 300's! Can't wait to see a 2!!

Side by sides- first pictures Night before surgery at 359, month 1 330, month 2 316 and month 3 302

  10. I've definitly noticed my shoes get loser. I had put on some weight the year before surgery and my shoes had gotten too tight one me that i couldn't even wear them. I remember crying and feeling so badly and that was one of the things that pushed me to surgery. Any way those shoes fit loosely not even with thick socks!! And I'm hoping I lose even more. I've always ha extra big and wide feet (12 or 13 extra wide) so it would be great to be able to fit into a regular 11 one day! I think I would pass out haha

  11. Ill admit it, I've had a few days where I was probably around there. Ill be honest, alcohol was involved in one of them (no lectures please!). The others were just way too much grazing and where there was food all around me. Those are not normal numbers for me. I am for 600-800 cals most days. I always feel crappy with myself if I go over 1,000, but we are human, we have slip ups. I've been fortunate enough (or unfortunate really) that no food bothers me. bread is fine, sweat don't get me sick. Nothing. I don't even get drunk off of alcohol the way others say they do. I had my first drink after surgery and was waiting to get drunk and it never happened. So I have to really watch myself carefully with my choices. I wish I had some issues with SOMETHING lol. But yea I've had a few high calorie days but as long as you pull yourself back up and do the best you can after, that's all that matters.
