    Cauliflower Pizza Crust

I've made this several times on my pre op diet and also a few times when I was dieting last year. It's always fabulous! I would be lost with out cauliflower doing low carb pre op! I use it in place of crust, rice, potatos. I also use zucchini in place of pasta. Cauliflower pizza is a MUST try!

    Obsessed!

Lol yup same here. I'm on here just about every free moment I have. I won't be sleeved for a few months so I guess I'm just gonna be on here reading for a long while lol

    The Waiting Unite

I have to wait until October too so I feel your pain. While I'm inpatient I consider mysel lucky because I know a lot of people have to do 6 months of the diet- and for some it takes longer. I can wait until Fall. I've been fat all this time 3 more months won't kill me lol. I know how you feel though but the time will pass just look at it as the last Summer you'll ever spend this size

    Tell Us Where You're From!

Yay awesome we have people interested! Any ideas on an activity that would be good for both pre and post ops? I was thinking an outdoors picnic type thing at a park and we can all bring some sleeve friendly (or diet friendly for pre opers) foods? Just don't want it to be too hot (I don't do well in the heat- I'm fat and pale as a ghost so I sweat AND burn lol) Any suggestions are welcome!

    Breast, Boobs, Bubbies, Chest-L, Tits!

I'm a C cup now (I wear some D bras but it's mostly because of my backside so I'll just go up a cup and down a back- since it's a challenge to find 46 in a c cup) but my actual cup is a C. At my smallest weight ever (270lbs) I went down to a B cup...so basically I'm screwed lol. I fully expect an A cup down the line :cries:

What Is Going To Be Your "last Meal?"

I'm doing a low carb diet for 3 months prior to surgery (2 months left) so I've cut out a lot of stuff I usually indulge in. Still though I want to indulge a few last times but I don't want to wind up with what I've seen refered to as 'last meal syndrome' lol. I think my last big meal will be all you can eat sushi. I haven't done it in a while but sushi is my favorite thing ever and I know I won't be able to have it for a hole post op because of the rice so I do plan go over indulge a bit on that!
  7. Pre op diet is going good so far- doing the low carb thing and feeling good about it! Can't wait until surgery- hurry up Fall!

    Tell Us Where You're From!

Yay awesome! Lets see if we can get a little group together! I know there are support groups/meetuos in other cities- it would be great if we could form our own.

    Oct Sleevers

I'm glad there are more of us- we're growing in numbers LOL. It will go fast! Waiting is the worst part (I'm NOT a patient person lol) but before we know it it will be here! October is my favorite month- always has been since I LOVE Halloween so this is going to be the best one yet! Yay!

    Loose Sking Before Surgery

I feel your pain. I'm pre op and already have area's that 'sag' granted they still have lots of fat lol but they already sag so I know they will sag post op. I've yo you dieted for a few years and I'm sure it has effected it. It's mostly my arms i worry about. I'm sure I'll have some sag on my belly too, unfortunatly that's the nature of the beast. I would rather be smaller and healthy with some sag then this weight with no sag. And like Star said some insurance companies do pay for plastics. I do know Medicaid will pay for a pani removal if it is deemed medically needed. I'm not sure I would qualify for that but we'll see. Just take it one step at a time. I know it's daunting when you think of going through all this and still not having your body be what we want it to be, but like I said I would rather be healthy with skin then unhealthy like I am now with fat.
  12. Good luck! Its true, 4 months will fly by. I'm in the midst of a 3 month diet now- should be having surgery in October. I know it sucks to wait but it will pass! My mom has always said the time will pass either way- this way it will be working towards a goal! Best of luck!

Thanks... I Think? Nsv.... Maybe? Lol.

Well I would take it as a NSV but the guy was obviously a major tard. I've known a few people from Canada though and in their defense we've had many conversations about the size of things here compared to there- particularly fast food sizes so I guess that much is factual. But still he was a jerk. Well if he wants to see a fat person on his tour of US obesity send him my way and I'll happily sit on him...

Any Sleevers Close To Long Island, Ny?

Haha I really think we all should! There are enough of us in the area to have a get together at some point! I'm super excited! I'm really impatient though, so wish I could fast forward through all the pre op stuff. I have to do a 3 month diet and I finish all my pre op stuff in mid September and most likley will have a date in October. I can't wait!! Your surgery date is in a few weeks right? I bet your super excited!

    Darn Commercials

Commercials are the devil! I'm on a pre op diet now and I have to turn off the TV at times. I used to love watching the Food Network but I can't watch anymore. Food is everywhere in our socity its frustrating!

BTW Bronxbubbles- was your study at Metrosleepcenter on Water's Place? After looking at your pictures it looks like the same place as me! lol

    Sleep Study Friday Ahh!

Hey all I'm back! Just got in this morning from the sleep study. It went well, not as bad as I thought,. I actually slept- I got only 3 hours sleep the night before so I was exhausted by the time last night rolled around. The tech told me that was the fastest he had seen anyone fall alseep lol. The room was nice, bed was comfy, had a big flat screen TV with cable. Not a bad set up. And my best friend was right next door and the tech was really cool about it and let us hang out up until it was lights out time at 11. The worst part was the wax they stick to your hair- you all were NOT joking about that! Just spent half an hour in the shower trying to get it out of my hair- gross! The wires weren't all that bad but maybe I was just so tired they didn't phase me that much lol. Thanks again all for talking me through it just gotta wait now and HOPEFULLY I don't have to go back for another! Bronxbubbles how did your second one go? Hoping all was well. Did they say you are going to need a CPAP machine now for surgery? The tech did tell me I was snoring a bit so I'm anxious to see what my results are too, after reading your experience I'm thinking there could be a chance I could have sleep apnea too. We'll see!

    Sleep Study Friday Ahh!

Just replying now- its been a busy week! Thank you all for the replies- this has helped me SO much! It makes it less nerve wrecking to know what to expect. I am definitly bringing a hat after reading this lol. They called to confirm today and told me I was allowed to bring food/drinks with me and they even have fridges and microwaves in the room which is very cool! Not bringing a full meal or anything lol but will definitly be bringing some waters and a snack for before bed. Bronxbubbles thanks so much for sharing all the details with me of your study! And the pics! The room looks really nice! That was one of the things I was nervous for- It looks like a hotel room! Sorry to hear you have sleep apnea! I honestly don't think I have it BUT the more I've been reading about it and how people have been surprised to have it Its possible I do. We'll see- not like I WANT to have another one of these done lol. How long ago was your sleep study done? Wondering if I'll get results right away or now. Well I think I'm prepared for it more now! Fingers crossed its a smoothe night!
  19. I have my first NUT appointment Friday morning, and then Friday night my sleep study! I'm SO dreading this! AHH!

    Foley Cath

From what I've heard it really depends on the surgeon. It's so varied. That and drains- seems like its different for everyone. I'm still pre op and I'm hoping I don't have a cath, but I've had one years ago when I had knee surgey and it's not THAT bad.

    Oct Sleevers

I finish my last pre op appointment in mid September and the nurse practicioner told me to expect to have surgery in October. Feels like an awfully long ways away now! Anyone else counting down the days like me? Lol
  22. My psych eval is in SEPTEMBER!!! This process is going to take longer then I had hoped! I'm gonna have to keep myself occupied this Summer so I don't go MAD with anticipation!

  23. Fallenangel2904

    Helllp.....

I've heard good things about the Syntrax nectar flavors- I've yet to try them (I'm pre op) but I'm gonna order a sample pack to see what I like but I hear they are good. I like sweet things (some people have said they are too sweet) but I think I'll like it. I've tried the optimum nutrition gold standard before and it wasn't so bad. Good luck! I've been researching protein like crazy too to find something good! They also told me to do Isopure but from what I've heard its gross so I don't think I'll be trying it- maybe the clear ones but not the shakes.
  24. Nutritionist appointment Friday, Ultrasound Monday...things are moving along! :D

  25. Hi VSGers! First of all I've been here a little while but haven't properly introduced myself or told my story. I've been overweight my whole life, struggled with dieting. I've been over 300lbs since I was a teenager which was tough. I've looked into WLS on and off since I was a teenager but never went through with it- which I am glad for because the sleeve wasn't an option when I was looking into it and I'm sure this is the procedure for me! So I finally had my consult today- I got the appointment back in April but there was a long wait. Everything went great and things are moving along fast! I have a bunch of appointments scheduled already- Nutristionist this Friday (1 or 2 classes) Ultrasound the 25th, sleep Study (Since they thing I may have sleep apnea) next week also, and the Endoscopy July 18th. The psych and the medical consult will be sent to me, but I really feel like things are moving along FAST and I'm super thrilled! It also makes it so much easier because my best friend is going through this with me- we're going through the same facility and even have some of our appointments scheduled on the same days so we can go together! The downer of today was getting on the scale for my stats. I haven't actually weighed myself in over a year. Last year was a hard year for me, I went through a crazy break up, emotional ate and gained weight, then took it off then I injured my knee and was immobile for months. In that time I was super depressed and knew I gained weight, I just never knew how much. I thought I had taken some of it off by now, and maybe I have- who knows- I may have even been heavier- though I shutter to think! I weighed in today at 379. Never in my life have I been this big! My biggest was 350 and that was HUGE for me. I saw 379 and I almost cried today! I was probably close or at 400 at my heaviest- that is such a scary number for me! This just proved to me more then EVER that I really need this surgery. It was a HUGE (no pun intended lol) wake up call for me and more then ever made me realize this is the right thing! My BMI is 63- I was a little worried with it being that high but they assured me today the doctor has experience opperating on patients with BMI's over 60 so I felt better. I'm just really excited/anxious/nervous/happy/scared to start this whole process but am so happy it's finally moving along!
