  1. I would really like to know that as well. I am having a hard time as well. It is so hard to get off track and so easy to go back to old habits. I love this sight because it is real people giving real advice and motivation. Just stay strong

  2. I have been feeling discouraged alot lately. I am proud of one thing though I am not turning to food like I use to:) However I am always on this site to get tips, and motivation to keep me going. Well I have a 14cc band and I am at 7cc. The last two times I have gotten fills it was so painful he could not find the port because it has changed posistion he evenutally got it but it has me scared to go back I have not seen the dr in 4 weeks I am going back next tues and I know I will need another fill because I am starting to feel hungry more often and I am eating more than a handful of food. Not much more but still it is more than a handful. I also started walking everyday at work I walk for 45 min, down a hill up another hill down that hill and back up a hill in addition I have added kickboxing and spin class every day as well it alternates spin class is two days a week and kickboxing one day a week. I started to do this because I was feeling like I have failed in some way by not losing the amount of weight I see others. My surgery was back in June and I have lost 30lbs and 3 sizes which I am very happy about what I am not happy about is I have made a few bad choices. Also I have to add I am more hungry now that I am working out twice a day and I am needing advice on how to make sure I am making the right choices when it comes to getting the nutrition I need. Any words of wisdom, anyone else that has struggled and if so what have you done to get out of your rut and to stay on the right track it is to easy to go back to old habits what works for you guys to not go back to bad habits. Thank you for listening and reading

  3. I have a 14cc band and I just had my 4th fill about 3 weeks ago. I am now at 7cc's. Is it possible that I can after two weeks really feel the resticrition. I did not feel it right away. I use to be able to have half of a whole wheat muffin and now I can not even eat any kinds of bread, Pasta or rice. I can feel it get stuck. I also have not been feeling so well. I am really tired and drained, I exercise every day but I don't feel like I am getting enough nutrition as I am only eating twice a day and very small portions. Which I like that is the point right?? However I need some tips on how to get all the nutrition your suppose to get. I can only eat soft foods which is fine with me but I feel like I am losing my appetite. Any advice?? I don't really have the symptoms of a slippage so I am not too worried about that. I just have not been feeling very well lately.

  4. I had my frist fill three weeks ago, no biggie did not notice much change, had my second fill yesterday and he had a hard time with my port it hurt like he!!. So than I ask him the same question I did last time why can't we eat foods after a fill. He did not give me really an answer so than I start reading and find that some people can eat after a fill, come can't, some have to wait 4-5 days. So what is the reason behind not being able to eat after your fills??

  5. I had my first fill. Felt great, followed the rules the first 48 hrs nothing but liquids. It has been about a week. I don't know how to get over being overly paranoind about stretching or slipping of my band. I went to dinner with a girlfriend had two bread sticks about two bites of chicken breast and I felt like I may have gotten something stuck the feeling went away and it hurt just a little and I freaked out. Did not drink or eat the rest of the night. I am worried about not getting enough or eating to much, I have also found myslef not waiting two min between bites is there a possibly I have done something wrong. I was thinking about going back to my pre diet before surgery for a while two Protein Shakes and a salad for lunch. Any thoughts anyone else gone through this emotional roller coaster?

  6. I may be over reacting but I am not sure what to think. I am 7 weeks post op, and I feel like I did before I had surgery, I can eat more, I get hungry more often, I have been trying to stick to the basics and it has been hard. I will catch myself eating too fast and slow down, after I eat I feel like I have something stuck in my throat it does not bother me and goes away within min. Not to mention I have not lost any more weight. Which I am ok with my main concern is being healthy and not having a slippage or something to that affect. With a slippage is it possible to not have any symptoms? I have seen the dr once and have an appointment on Sat to do my first fill. I am not sure what to expect and I would hope they would do an x ray before they do the fill. What can I expect for my first fill? I have brought up my concerns to the dr and he tells me it is normal to feel this way and not to focus on what could be wrong. Any advice?

  7. Thank you everyone. It is a struggle but I am hanging in there it helps to know it is normal of what I feel . I have been trying to drink as much as I can Water does help in between. Most of it is just a mind control it is going to take some time getting use to. But glad to know it is all normal:)

  8. I am going on 6 weeks post op. I don't have my second visit until July 14th, with that being said I am hoping to get my first fill. Here is what I am expieriencing I am getting hungry about 1 to 2 hrs after I eat. Now I can only eat a little bit but more than 1/2 cup. I feel great no pain but I also feel like I can eat like I did before I had lap band. I am at a stand still with my weight I am down 22 lbs and I am happy about that but I am just wondering if what I am feeling is normal. I brought it up to my dr and he pretty much said we will see what happens and how your feeling when you see me. Is this normal to feel this way? I am eating alot of Protein, I have been drinking protein in between meals to see if that helps and I am not really snacking in between, trying to stick to what the dr gave me as a guide to eat. I had a piece of whole wheat bread with all natural Peanut Butter that seemed to help a little but again I get hungry soon after I eat. It is such a mental fight I have with myself, because I am not about to go back to the way I ate before lap band and it is so hard. Advise, suggestions anything HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP:) OH one more question salad is safe to eat at this stage right? If so I am going to start eating salad.

  9. I am 27 days post op, does anyone have tips, or suggestions on foods? I have been eating the same thing for a while now and trying to get a variety. I am kind of frusterated with the dietician, she has not responded to any of my emails or messages. I am feeling hungry between meals, so I have my Protein Shakes, I just don't think I am getting enough nutrion. I have not had a fill yet and I don't know if I should be expecting weight loss at this stage but I am just getting frusterated. So any tips, advice would help. Has anyone lost weight during the first month? Or should I be expecting it after a fill. I feel like I can eat more than just 1/2 cup. I dont see the dr for another three weeks.

    Thank you

  10. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I seem to be doing ok, they gave me an anti nausea medication which really seems to help. It is such a learning process and when I get gasy it hurts, if I over drink or eat it hurts. I am trying to just take sips at a time. I find myself getting hungry more often so I will have a Jello or a pudding. Does anyone have any ideas on foods or other options? Mine are getting boring:)

  11. I am on my 7th day of post op I am hoping some can shed some light. I was so nervous going through the process. I got sick the first day and a couple days went by where it was just ok, than for the past three days I throw up but nothing comes up not even Water. It is like I am dry heeving and burping that is that is happening. I seem to be uncomfortable not to the point where I need to take my pain meds. I feel nauseous at times. I just don't know what I should expect to feel? Has anyone had discomforts and what did you do to feel better. I call my dr he says it is normal, I had my follow up and i thought maybe my band slipped while i was throwing up he said I am fine. I have my next dr appt in 4 days.

I am just miserable and so very hungry. I am trying to stick to the diet and be strict but I don't even know if I am doing that right. Is it possible that when I drink a protien shake that it is full and than I try to drink liquids and that causes it or could it be my body is rejecting the band. I am so confused and worried and probably over thinking it. Also my dr said it is the swelling inside that would cause the nausea. HELPPPP!!!!!!
