Grats on getting some clothes tossing done!! I hope to be doing that in the upcoming weeks as well. I'll have to check with my doctor to see if they take a video, it would be interesting, and probably a bit surreal, to see.

The best way I can describe it is an instant fullness that makes you feel like you have to burp really bad but can't burp! There is a sense of fullness in the stomach area and if you keep pushing it (drinking more water, eating more soup, etc) you can feel it backing up your esophagus. I've had reflux all my life, so this sensation is nothing new for me, but some people who have never experienced it before might find it unnerving.
There isn't any pain, at least not after the first two days (for me). In the first two days it hurt a little when I would take more than a sip of liquid, and I ALWAYS had to burp after a sip! It made for some goofy moments.
But yes, it will be different for everyone. Your sleeve might not mind a little extra water but mine does. I have a sassy sleeve!

So when you say instantly regretted it fiercely...is that a pain in chest, feeling in your throat, a nausea or vomit...what is the feeling like? I mean I guess I'll figure it out soon enough but...how do you know. I guess I won't be able to not have it happen because it's all trial and error...true?

Good for you!! I am 6 days post op and I would not have been able to do it! I am still so weak!

My sleeve is scheduled for tomorrow, and I gotta say, your blog entry is the first one I can relate to. I too, am a busy chick, and am focused totally on not missing a moment of the life I love to live. Nice to know at 10 days I can be about my business with minimal disruption. I'm also excited to read that you know before you are stuffed and miserable. I too wonder if other people are born with this and some of us miss that part. It sure would explain a lot!!!
