I have had my fair share of band complications. I've had two port revisons and need a third. I had to pay cash for them and didn't have the money up front so ended up gaining a lot of weight back in the waiting process. This last time it closed its self off I couldnt eat or drink and became highly dehydrated and hospitalized. But I would not get rid of my band ever! Because of it I have lost over 100 pounds. I can tie my own shoes and still breath. I can take a flight of stairs and not have to stop to catch my breath. I can conceive a child and buy jeans not stretch pants. You are told before surgery the type of lifestyle you will be leading. Small pencil sized bites that will need to be chewed and chewed. That you need small meals and lots of Water followed with exercise because this is a TOOL not a magic trick. If you did not do your homework and prepare yourself for this then it is your own fault. Just like any other diet plan it is not for everyone.

It is diffrent for each and everyone of us. When I first got my band I shed 60 pounds in 3 months. My step mom only lost 22. Age, metabolism, exercise routine, what your eating all effect it. I will say though I to believe I'm not ment to lose anymore then a certain amount. 4 times I've gotten down to 276 from 427 and each and everytime I end up with a band complication and end up right back at 299-325. So Aggrivating!!!

I had a women tell me she had many off shore accounts full off money and she would love to share it with me. That all I needed to do was create my own off shore account and give her all my information so she could transfer the money there.

So I could walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like I was going to die! So I could comfortably bend over and tie my own shoes. So I could safley have a healthy pregnancy and have the energy to keep up with my babies once they are here. So I could buy clothes off the rack without buying the biggest size and hope it would fit if I stretched it enough. So I could shop with my friends in a normal store. So I could ride a rollercoaster without worrying if id fit in the seat. So I could pick out an outfit ,put it on and feel confident and leave the house instead of trying on everything I owned and ending up sitting around crying because I hated the way i looked.

Hello I am 5 years post op and I still have port pain now and again. I have what is concidered a "movable port" so it cramps up alot when it shifts. But I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and have not experianced any pain thus far.

Unfortunatley you will probably get a diffrent answer from each and every doctor.

Losing weight made me have a normal menstraul cycle for the first time in my entire life. And I am extremely fertile. Me and my husband had 3 slip ups in the past two years and they all resulted in me pregnant. We lost two but are currently 12 weeks pregnant right now.

And truly this last 4 weeks I have barley even wanted food. I ate small portions because I knew the baby needed it but after a small amount I almost felt like I ate at a buffet.

I am 12 weeks and have an unfilled band.. I have gained 1 pound is all. Just make sure you eat small meal or snacks that are healthy and make water your main drink and you will be just fine. My doc told me because of my band I may need a c section. Not really sure what's up with that.

If I ever weighed 160 id probably drop dead.. ill be lucky to get down to 200. Me and my band have had so many issues!!

I Am currently 9 weeks and haven't gained anything. And my band is completle emtpy right now so I could literally eat whatever I want (tryin to stay healthy tho) but no haven't gained anything so far. I was preggo before with 7cc in my band didn't take any out. As long as you can eat all your protien and other healthy things such as fresh veggies and fruits and are staying hydrated your doc will most likley tell you that you do not need to remove any Fluid. Always good to ask tho.

Its crazy the meds they gave me for nausea has a dide effect of nausea!!

Since I've had two previous miscarriages my doc put me on vaginal progesterone gel. So far so good but there is a serious amount of possible side effects that come with it some even for the baby!! Which has me a little nervous. Was wondering if anyone else has used this and what your experiance with it was.

Had to have absolutley nothing on underneath the gown. They just place a big pad under you. will seem extremly embarrassing but they do this everyday so pretty routine to them so don't get to embarrassed if its how they do it.

I'm takin it faithfully believe me! I don't think I could handle another miscarriage. Side effect just had me super nervous. But with all meds they must include all possibilities regaurdless off how small the chances of it occuring are.

Before my lap band I had such a screwed up cycle. Id go minths without it then suddenly have one for weeks on end. It took my body about 8 months (60lbs down) after my band to straighten out. I started having a normal period at the same time each month and started ovulating. I'm sure its diffrent for everyone but the weightloss by far helped me!!

I've had two miscarriages in the last two years. My husband and I decided to wait until I was at a much lower weight to try again but we had an unexpected surprise when my period never came. I'm so scared and have cried my eyes out I dont think I can mentally handle another miscarriage. I know I need to stay positive but at this point all I can think is how long till this one is taken away from me . I've lost around 45 lbs since the last one I hope it helps. Doc appointment is August 28th I hope things are diffrent this time.

I know I looked at her like she was crazy. I'm like its a lap band just a laproscopically place lap band no plication.

Doc appt today. Baby looked great. 8 weeks and 3 days 1 inch long heart beat of 162.. starting progesterone tommorrow just to be safe. I was also told I needed to be tested for diabetes and Vitamin b12 deficiency due to my band? And that id most likley be a csection because of it...

I see you wrote you think you are hungry... just because you now have a band Doesnt mean your head has chamges they didn't reset your brain. Although that would be so helpful! Lol We have all had problems with obesity and over eating that's how we got here!! I promise you will be just fine your head is just stickin to old habits. it takes a little time to adjust to the change. It took me a while to know when I was really hungry or if I was still just thinking I should be eating because that's what I normally would have been doing.

I'm 5'5 427 before surgery so I believe you should absolutley be fine. But all surgeons are diffrent and it is best to still lose what you can ahead of time to help shrink your liver for surgery day!

I also am still very nervous about a miscarriage.. after suffering two I don't know if mentally I can stand another.. just hoping for the best and wishing you the best to positive vibes commin from here!!!

Do you have a gordmans or kohls? Both have a nice maternaty sections.. also if you have a maurices, fashion bug, or lane bryant you could just go up in size instead if getting maternaty clothes because they both carry up to size 28
