    Stomach Pains Near Port

If I lay on my left side to long mine cramps up to. Its because of the muscle its tied into runs along your left side. Also when you vomit your muscles all tense up and that port is right in the middle of one. Are you vomiting due to naseau or because of the band? If its due to naseau talk to your doc they will get you on some meds to control that. If its from getting stuck maybe you need a slight unfill. Getting all your nutrients down is very important at this stage in your pregnancy.

    Pregnant And Overwhelmed!

Congrats!!! I am 14 weeks 5 days with and empty band ( not due to the pregnancy). It has been very hard telling myself I don't need all the delicious things I'm craving! But I am trying my best to stick to the healthy things the baby needs. I have gained 3 pounds so far and its already bothering me. I know its normal and the baby is growing but I had just finished losing 60 pounds in 4 months right before I found out I was prego. I hope not to gain more then 20 and ill just get a fill after my bundle of joy is here!

    Lets Share Prego Stories :)

I to am preggers with an empty band! 14 weeks and 5 days. I've gained 3 pounds so far. I've been banded for almost 5 years but I've had a lot of complications that ended up with me losing and gaininh the same 50 pounds three times but over all I've lost around 130 lbs and 60 of it was over the summer right before I got pregnant which I assumed helped. We were not trying but found out on our anniversary that we were expecting

    Some Questions!

I am much larger then I wanted to be when I got pregnant. Sitting at 305 right now and I'm just about 15 weeks along everything is going great. No port pain and I've only gained 3 pounds so far. Getting pregnant was a huge surprise we Were not trying just happened due to one slip up. So it was very easy to get pregnant. Doc has mentioned that a c section may be likley but I don't see why. There is really nothing about my band that effects pushing for a vaginal delivery.
  6. I to have an empty band and I'm 14 weeks pregnant. This is my first successful pregnancy. I have gained 3 pounds. So a little under a pound a month since becoming pregnant. Just continue to eat small healthy meals often and enjoy your pregnancy ... I look at it this way I hope to not gain more then 15 to 20 pounds but even if I gain 75 once the baby is here ill go get a fill and start losin!!

Bought The Zumba Informercial Offer. Anyone Else?

Id prefer the home video I'm not much for workin out in front of other people.
  8. I have a 10 cc band and I've had alot of issues with it. My surgeon was awful. Yes you are much tighter then someone like me who has a big band. But honestly the only diffrence really is a. 5cc in you is like 2.5 ccs for me. Follow your meal plan laid out by your doc for liquids and then mushies and so on and all should be well.
  9. I lost 61 pounds in 3 months but I also started at 420. Just remember even if you only lose 5 pounds a month your still losing and not gaining! That's success in itsself.

Bought The Zumba Informercial Offer. Anyone Else?

I gave thought about buying it. I have two friends that attemd zumba classes and have both lost between 15-25 pounds. Niether have bands or. Are on a diet so I would think the band gives me and edge to lose more!!!
  11. My dad and step mom have had a 4 cc band for the past 6 years. Great success no complications at all! Dads down 200 pounds and my step mom is down 120 both have hit their goal .
  12. By14 it was my resposibility every day to make dinner for our family of 7 and clean the kitchen. Tell them this is a rough time for you. They can either step up and fend for themselves or starve!! Believe me they will not choose to starve. During my liquid phase I went for a walk while everyone else cooked and ate it was easier for me to deal with.

    The Dead...after Surgery.

Doc told me to wait till my stitches disolved and I was no longer feeling pain in my port. Most of my discomfort was gone after two to three weeks. You will know when your body is feeling up to it. If you try a position that's uncomfortable try something else.
  14. I try and eat the same healthy things I was already eating, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruits and veggies, protien, lots of water, orange juice, milk.

    I Give Up...

I to have had so many ups and downs on the scale. Some not my fault due to a lovley faulty band. And others my fault because I gave up on myself. ... but guess what? I still have my band! Which means I gotta kick myself in the butt sometimes to jump start my progress. I wish I had an awesome success story like some of the people on here that have truly kicked this into gear and lost a huge amount of weight in a short amount of time. But I'm me and I have my own journey.. we all have bands but we are all diffrent. Diffrent sizes, diffrent shapes, diffrent metabolisms its going to work diffrent for everyone. I am down 135 lbs but its taken me 5 years to get here. I've been here before and messed up and gained 50 back with fills three times! It happens but don't give up! Each and Every pound lost is a little bit of life you've given yourself back. Alittle closer to easier breathing, easier exercising, great clothes, having children, enjoying life! I'm 25 and truly without my band I believe I would have already suffered from a heart attack. I was 429 before my surgery with a bmi of 71. It has given me a new lease on life even if it lets me down sometimes or I stray from what I should be eating. You can always come back to it!

Day 4 Post Op. I Failed

Everyone makes a mistake or two on the way dont beat yourself up over it! Just be careful. Proper healing is important. I lived on sugar free popcicles!! There are so many kinds and they taste great. A good tip I found useful.. stay away from the kitchen if you can. So many of us use to just eat for no reason just because we could or because we were bored. Being in there is just surrounding you with everything you cant have and tempting you. I even went for walks when others in the house were eating thier meals. I needed the exercise and I didn't feel like I was missing out if I wasn't sitting around watching everyone else stuff their faces. This is a hard phase but just remind yourself of all the wonderful things to Come from this!
  17. I to used to have this problem. For a while i did my protien shake at lunch instead of breakfast. Then I started doing yogurt and a fruit or string cheese and some veggies with low cal veggie dip.

    Thank You!

I have also been there. Twice:( I am so sorry for your loss. Nothing anyone can say eases that kind of pain. But the band is going to help you!!! I have lost an additional 60 pounds since my last miscarriage and I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant! Everything is going beautifully. Also when your ready to start trying again have your doctor check your rh factor and your progesterone levels. I was unaware how many women lose a precious baby due to this and docs don't even check either until you've had two to three miscarriages! And noone needs to suffer like that. I was placed on progesterone when I was 6 weeks along and it has saved my baby. best of luck to you on this beautiful journey.

    Severe Acid Reflux

Terrible. I've had my fair share of the acid reflux but only when my band became to tight. I hope you receive some relief soon.
  20. My story is slightly diffrent getting pregnant was not the problem but staying pregnant another story.. I had two miscarriages and was truly at a point where I told my husband maybe I just wasn't ment to carry a baby. But this summer we moved away from all our stressful situations, got new jobs, we got our new home and I lost 60 more pounds and on our anniversary found out we were pregnant and so far so good 13 weeks yesterday. It will happen!! Wishing you the best
  21. Hello I am 5'5 and weighed 429 with a bmi of 71 when I started my journey. You are not alone!!
