Odds are somethin you ate yesterday upset or inflammed your band. Stick to liquids and runny foods for a day or two before you try a solid again as long as your getting liquids threw your ok just make sure they are good for you, water, protein shake, etc.. if its worse after that call your doctor but it could be other things stress, bloating, and a period or even elevation can swell your band a little templrarily

Already did appointment tommorrow.. But I was just there last week.for an unfill and stil the same amount pain and discomfort and acid reflux and night cough

You know it wasnt until I was banded that I relized everything we do is based around food! Every holiday, every get together, hanging out with friends... Food food FOOD!.. Even movies people are always eating in them.. Me and my band are at a disagreement right now and I cant even hold down water and I was watchin killers last night and literally katherine hiegl was eating every minute and im like listen here you gorgeous fit women one more piece of jerky n im commin after you!

Just remember to be patient with it amd dont push your surgeon for a big fill I promise you will regret it.. Mine kept givin me .5cc at a time I finally nagged enough that he gave me 1 and a half all in 1 fill and boy did I regret it so tight I couldnt keep anything down and ended up goin back dehydrated for an unfill :s

Going in tommorrow to have more removed I have the newer band my dad and steo mom both have the older 4cc and have never had one problem

Ive literally bruised a perfect circle on top of mine! Hurt bad but just take it easy for a few days try not to stretch it to much or lay on it and you should be fine.. But I wikl say this as a warning to people be careful about bending over into something I flipped my port by leaning in over a sink that was to deep for me to reach hurt like hell

If your doctor refuses to discuss it with you go to a bariatric doctors office and start the discussion with a doctor who understands what your wanting and going threw.. My primary doctor had nothin to do with my surgery I set up a consultation with a bariTric surgeon and off I went on my journey

I will say thats the one thing thats strange.. Eating with normal people lol ... I was litetally disgusted at how people eat after I got my band

Depending on your insurance if you have it prepare to be thrown threw some crazy loops I had to do so many things for mine a psych eval ekg all kinds of throat tests write am essay why this would b benifitial to me have my primary doctor write why he thought I needed it list every diet plan or pill I had ever been on... Just little petty things because they figured id give up becaise of to much hassle but no I pushed on!!

Called my doc and luckly they said they would do another unfill for free!! Thank the lord cause im seriously gettin dehydrated... And hey once u get all banded up we should meet up sometime its nicr to hang out with someone who knows what ur goin threw plus I could so use an exercise buddy my husband is a stick and I wanna smack him lol so its no fun walkin with him

Thank you .. This has truly been a mess ofcourse my band would act up as soon as im away from my doctor.. I just have heard a lot of stories about er band experiances and none seemed to pleasent.. Jusy trying to get enough relief so I can drink water its gettin to hot to be struggling with liquids

I was 18 when I got my lap band I was severly over weight I was 420 the day.of my surgery and that was after the liquid diet I had been on for two weeks...but ive lost 155lbs and still at it and ive had plenty of struggles but id do it again.. Its hard at first ecspecially if your the only person who has it and noone else aroumd you supports you or understands what your going threw. Find a local support group.if there is a lapband center in your area talk to them and set up a consultation plus they can let you know when there support meetings are that way you can go to one and talk to some people whove been threw it.. And ASK questions! No question is stupid if you are wondering anything about it ask someone will be willing to share an answer!

Im 24 but I was banded at 18.. You should feel comfortable about telling ANYONE about your band if you are severly over weight its saving your life you have nothing to be ashamed of. All my friends are skinny and my husband is super skinny he is 6'3 and weighs 160 if they are your real friends they will love and support you always and believe me the band aint always a cake walk it helps to have a support system.. Talk to them about it all that changes is your eating habits and soon you might b able to shop with them my friends even decided they too could use some exercise and we support each other in that aspect never be ashamed of saving your life if you are on a healthier path then you took a step in the right direction let people know about it it may someday save thier life to!

They did a barium swallow wednesday said the band looks great no slippage but idc what they say SOMETHING is not right ive had my band for six years ive been "to tight" and the unfill solved it this is something else

Truly in the same situation im livinh on tums and the hope i get enough water down to survive i went for an unfill last week and its just as bad now.. Idk what to do im at a point where i literally just want it removed im tired of all the chest n back pain and constant heartburm and night cough from reflux i almost choked to death on it a few times not to mention ive had two port revisions

It is so frustrating i feel like i either have to be thirsty n hungry all day or try to drink and be in constant pain .. One drink and the heartburn and acid reflux kicks in and my shoulders and back get tight and im miserable all day and night

Im in the same boat bad thing is i cant even get liquid to go down... If im lucky i get a few cups of water down every other day .. Crazy part i havent had a fill since september! And i gained weight after it didnt get tight till march now ive lost sixty pounds since then went in for a barium swallow everything looked fine to tight tho so they took .5cc out and now im still to tight cant eat barley drink anything other then water comes back up sometimes even watet

I am right there with you on the complications... They seem to be never ending.. I to was banded in 2007 and ive been up and down the scale
