So Many Nsv..and A Few Sv Also :)

This is so awesome. Well done!
  2. Oh dear. Bestbwishes to you. I had a hernia repair by open surgery in an emergency situation ( it had strangulated). After my sleeve op, my surgeon told me that I had a lot of adhesions. At the time I was too focussed on my sleeve to ask her more about it and your post has prompted my memory. I will definitely ask at my next appointment and try and find out what this means for me in the future.

This Surgery Is All I Think About

Yes, all sleeved and 10 days in feeling great! I am in New Zealand and here we have different systems and with public health care available for all there is not much need for private medical insurance. The surgery is available free in my area for qualifying patients, under public health, but I went for self pay so I wouldn't have to wait as the process can take up to 2 years.

This Surgery Is All I Think About

I am the same so I made the choice to do it quickly! I decided to have WLS at the end of April. Made an appointment with a surgeon and met with her on May 7. I confirmed the following day that I would have the surgery and she said they had an available space on May 28th! I started the pre op diet on the 11th and haven't looked back.

    Things At Home ..

I have also taken to brushing my teeth a lot! It really does help. We are building a new home right now so are currently living in a hotel/serviced unit. We have a teeny tiny kitchen area which has proved challenging since I have been out. I try and get out once a day at least for a good walk but it is winter here and pretty awful out. So it has b

So it has been boring here, in our one room lol, and daytime television is really awful! Looking forward to getting back to work next Monday.

    Terrified Of Anaesthesia!

I walked into theatre and hopped up on the table kind of surreal as other surgery I was always wheeled in there! I have difficult veins so when the anesthetist failed his first attempt at the iv with me he opted for gas first and iv once I was out. It was great! All I remember was laughing and laughing with the gas and then I was under. Woke up later when it was all done. I think the recovery room staff force you awake as part of the process. They need you awake and vitals all good before returning you to your room. I had no catheter and no problems there either. It seems as though a lot of things are very different depending on where you are from. I am in New Zealand and here, we are given yoghurt the day after surgery. There is no requirement for clear liquid diet at all and from discharge, day 3, I was on pureed foods or foods the consistency of porridge. I have had no issues at all. I will start soft foods just before the 2 week point. So, while advice on these boards is good, listen first to your own medical specialists, second to your body and then seek support and commonality from others who have been through this.

    May Sleeve Buddies!

Sleeved on May 28th and I am loving it 8 days in. Have lost a bit over 30lbs (16kilos) since I started the pre op diet on May 14th. A bit overwhelmed with it all actually! Very please to have found this website as I think my family are getting bored with me talking about it but it is dominating my thoughts most of the day!

    How Much Time Off Work

I was sleeved on the 28th May and have taken too weeks off. One week in to it, I have decided to log in and do some work from home. Daytime television is awful!
  15. I would suggest getting rid of the crap in your pantry. Remove temptation.
