    Day 4

Oh and I'm supposed to at least 3.5 liters of water per day, which is about a gallon of water. I don't think I've been getting that much in, but I am close.

    Day 4

I had gotten to the point where i just couldnt' stomach any more shakes, so I switched to yogurt and broth and Soup. That worked better for me, but it just wasn't enough calories. I have some EAS shakes that I bought yesterday and I'm gonna give those a try today. They are 100 cals each, so I'll try to drink about 4 of those along with the yogurt and broth. For me, I don't know if the hardest part is that I can't chew. I just want CARBS!!! I'm used to feeling full and this stuff I've been eating just doesn't give me that full feeling. I doubt chewing would help, if I'm not chewing on some Pasta LOL! I think I've just had a lifestyle of eating a certain way and this is so different. I like tasty food or nothing at all. So that's the worst part for me. That, plus knowing I won't be eating anything truly delicious for a loooooooong time! Sigh...
  4. Awww beautiful story! Congratulations...and hello little bean!

    Pre Op Diet Questions?

Yep, i feel weak most of the time too. I wonder if I'm getting enough calories, and I know I'm not. I've been at around 300 - 500 calories. I just can't get in more with this type of food.

    Pre Op Diet Questions?

MsPerry I'm in the same boat as you. I am just about to lose my mind. This is day 3 for me and i feel like i won't make it. But i'm gonna try to hold on. I am reading people's comments about getting past the 3-4 days so if I can get past tomorrow, maybe I can make it. But the way I feel right now...ugh! It's soooo hard!
  8. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad you're still with us, Lissa!

    Surgery Tomorrow! Eeek!

LOL too funny! I'm having one of those days myself. At work, just staring into the vending machine. Cheez-Its, Cheddar and Sour Cream potato chips, Twix, Snickers...why must they ALL call to me!!!
  10. Dayum girl! You look fantastic!!! I really needed to see this today. Getting ready to book my flight to MX for my surgery and I'm so nervous. Not about MX, about surgery in general. But it's good for me to see the other side of this. You're where I want to be! Congratulations on all your hard work!

    Any Singles Out There.

I think your cousin's husband is probably afraid she may get skinny and then decide to leave him.
  15. LOL that's an NSV wrapped in drama!
  16. Hi All, I've searched but haven't found anything related to my question. I feel at a loss with regard to what to take to Mexico. I am planning on taking Gas-X strips, but is there anything else? Do I need clothes while in the hospital? (Ok, probably not.) I'm just looking for ideas or tips on what I might need that I haven't considered. Thanks.

    What To Take?

    Oh Ok, thanks Strangely!
  19. I thought the broth was supposed to be free during the entire stay. Did this change?? So you had to pay for everything you ate (minus the arrival bowl)?

    Am I The Only One...?

This is true. It hurts to find out you're on the receiving end of gossip. I've been there many times and it hurt! But I think those experiences have steeled me, because in this case I really could care less who says what. I told a co-worker and she's a skinny-minny who was in the midst of some weight loss challenge. She very well may have opinions on my decision. So what? I really mean that. SO. WHAT. Caring about being judged is part of what got me to my current size. It's what caused me to stuff my feelings down with food. It caused me to stop even trying to live and instead stand still. I lost a decade of my life, worrying about what someone else might think of me. Now that I've come to my senses, I've got a long journey back. Anyone who cannot be supportive or at least be silent, they don't count. If folks talk at my job and I decide I can't take it, I'll leave and go get another job. That's life! And life is about the choices we make. I am happy for me, and because of that I want to share my happiness, that I'm on my way back to loving me. If folks can't or don't want to relate... So what?
  21. Wow! Great post!!! One more reason I can't wait to start losing!! LOL!

    Am I The Only One...?

I tried to NOT tell people, because I wanted to avoid any negative feedback. But the more I did my homework and researched, the more comfortable (and excited) I became with my decision. So I find myself mentioning it very casually, if/when the need arises. Everyone is hesitant at first. But I realized that they just don't know or understand my struggle with weight. (If you're 180lbs, how can you possibly know what it's like to be 340???) For the naysayers, with every reason they give why I shouldn't have gastric sleeve surgery in Mexico of all places , I give a clear reason as to why it's the best decision for ME. And by the end of it, they have nothing left to say. But the naysayers are not many. Ultimately, I'm happy I've finally made a decision to change my life. And I just don't give a d@mn what anyone else might think. For my loved ones, if they don't agree then I just tell them to pray for me that I make it thru the surgery...cuz it's GONNA happen! Still, I can see why some people may just not want to have to defend their decision also. It can be just more stress, which none of us need. I'm just excited though!
  23. Hi all! I've been reading various posts from just-sleeved people. Some say they had relatively no pain after surgery, while others had quite a LOT. I always wonder what sort of preop diet the people followed who had a lot of pain. So for those of you who've been sleeved, can you answer a few questions? Did you follow a pre-op diet? If so, what/how long was it? On a scale of "no-pain at all" to "just shoot me", how would you rate your recovery process after surgery? Thanks!
  24. I had dilaudid when i had my gallbladder removed. Mmmm, good stuff... Oh did I type that out loud...sorry.
