  1. Okay, so I wasn't finished "chicken-pecking"on my phone here and my dogs just came up and bumped the hammock and my message simply sent itself? :)

Anyway, I'm curious to see if this thread develops as others (Pre-Op + Post-Op) Bandsters input is also greatly appreciated. I'm very hopeful for a less drenched future! :)

  2. Thank you for addressing this issue. I'm laying on my Hammock in my backyard and appreciating the various posts here on LBT. However, this is the first post I've seen so far (been on here for a week) that is discussing profuse sweating. For years I've been drenched and it doesn't matter where or what I'm doing. It's beyond embarrassing to me especially when out in public and (thank goodness I'm not in food service:). Granted I have multiple health issues that could contribute to this symptom, but it's even baffled most of my dozens of physicians too. This past year we experimented changing meds and getting off a few has made a difference. However, i still experience it even while doing something as simple as the dishes :( I'm hoping that once I get banded and recovered that I'll be able to do more

  3. Happy to hear from all of you who were Banded on Wednesday and gave us reports on how it went, how you feel (and are feeling) and that you're in recovery! Makes it easier knowing that we have friends ahead of us to give us the "heads-up."

Does anyone know why some patients get to stay in the hospital vs outpatient facility where we are just release out on our own? I have complicated health issues and a long drive home in Friday traffic after surgery. I would feel more comfortable being in a hospital overnight, but my center doesn't have that option? Hum?

Keep up the good work Friends :) Appreciate your posts! Thank you! :)

  4. Hello New Friends,

I'm curious to know if anyone else has United Healthcare PPO, and if so, do they charge extra % for an "Out-of-Network Surgeon and Doctor?"

My insurance recently changed and I've been approved by both my old insurance carrier -- as well as my very new insurance carrier.

Although I received letters from both saying "You've been approved" listing the new doc and new surgery center I am having last minute concerns that something hasn't been disclosed to me:

I'm scheduled for June 15th, and currently on my 4th day of Pre-Op Diet with a lengthly drive tomorrow morning to see the surgeon I selected. Anolther Bandsters Post prompted me to think... to question the difference between in-network and out-of-network. My longtime insurance company was extremely generous and paid for nearly all of my medical in years past and now I'm needing to learn about United Healthcare's Benefits. I've come this far and now can't sleep wondering if my surgery and surgical centers costs are going to be sky-high being out-of-network...

I don't want to be blind-sided in the a.m. after driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Arrrgggh, why didn't I think of this question last week? Thanks to anyone who may have some insight on this issue.

  5. Nadekusibe... Glad you found your way to this group :) I sent a long message on my iPad about the two June groups only to see it had been returned to me. So I'm now on my desktop which seems to work much better for some reason (except it hurts to sit and bend my knees :) You are two days ahead of me... hope to stay in contact. Best of Health!

  6. Hi June Bandsters! I'm new to this site as of yesterday and am appreciating all your posts, questions and input. I'm scheduled for 6/15 and am only 2 days in on Pre-op diet (yikes)! I haven't been to any classes (none offered) so LBT is proving especially helpful. I'm currently on my iPad and it doesn't seem to work as well as when I'm on the site via desktop. Anyone have any input on this?

  7. Thanks for your post. I thought it was just me yesterday. I went to sign up and couldn't - tried to check out website and roadblocks everywhere. I then resorted to getting off my desktop and trying my iPad and iPhone - no luck. I figured it was all me... so now that I'm here (newbie as of today) I'm happy to see all the resources, support and others going through same issues and processes. Thank you everyone!

  8. Me too! Fortunately where I go to see movies is new (but still unknown), so usually have the entire theater to ourselves. I have the same problem flying, so much pain in my back, neck, shoulders and mostly my knees. I am really hoping to sit back in a theater by year's end with a comfortable smile and in a little less pain :)
