    Introduction

Thanks so much!!! I feel great! There is so much freedom that comes with this surgery. I love eating such small portions and I am full. I love that a small salad can fill me or a small piece of meat and I don't need the carbs to make me feel satisfied anymore. I hope you are as happy with it as I have been.

Yes I had it out May 8th. I was in the hospital 8 days due to an infection. They also thought I had a leak so went back in for surgery on the third day to check around for a leak but apparently there wasn't one. They put drains in on the second surgery and I got a lot better after that. I have lost 38lbs since may. Day of surgery I was 216. Now I am 178 and half way to goal. I have lost 53lbs all together since January when I started the revision process from a high weight of 231. It's the best thing I ever did!

I had reflux with the band and still do with the sleeve but I take omeperzole for it and have no issues. It's been worth it. Once you have the sleeve give your body time to heal a good month to feel semi normal. You will wonder what the hell you did to yourself but I promise it gets better and the surgery and recovery will be a distant memory :-) good luck to you.
  4. I have absolutely no regrets except that I wish it was an option back when I did lap band cuz I would have done the sleeve in the first place. I had a rough beginning too. I spent 8 days in the hospital and it was rough and I got an infection and had to go in or a second surgery while I was in house. But even though that happened I would do it again. It's very freeing to eat very little and feel full. The surgery gives you better control over cravings and hunger. I love it and now that I am 3 months out and feeling great it just gets better and better. The beginning I shards I'm not gonna lie. Your weak and tired and u get frustrated trying to eat and drink but it gets better everyday and easier and easier. I recommend it to anyone who is tired of struggling with their weight. Good luck to you. :-)

  12. Hahahaha omg dying that's so great! I would be thinking the same thing you were !!!!! Lol
  13. I am a band to sleeve revision and I had a hard time as well eating those foods you listed. The sleeve is amazing and I have to mentally remind myself that the band isn't there because I am just waiting for food to get stuck and it never happens. You feel normal again with what you can it just much smaller portions :-)
  14. I Can't stand when I hear that people think weight loss surgery is the easy way out! Mostly from people who have never had a weight problem or have no difficulty losing weight on their own. Or it's from people who could take or leave food. Or people that have no knowledge at all of what we went through pre op to get the surgery let alone recovery and then post op life. I even know someone personally who had the gastric bypass who still struggles and thinks she took the easy way out so she is afraid to tell people she had it in fear of them judging her. I am reading a book " The Sleeved Life" that explains this very well and I like how the author defends this. " When it is suggested that WLS is the easy way out the undertone of the message is often that it is somehow morally superior to lose weight with diet and exercise alone rather than with surgery. There is nothing easy about WLS, why is choosing to do something " the easy way" inferior to doing something "the hard way"? I drive my car. I use a microwave. I use a hair dryer. In the winter I turn on the furnace rather than building a fire. We all do things " the easy way" when technology allows us to be more efficient. Why is this ok in other aspects of life, but not OK wIth weight loss? So when someone says that WLS is the easy way out just smile and tell them it's the efficient and effective way. Then, ask the person if he or she use a washing machine or still beats his or her cloths with a rock down by the river. If the person criticizing you uses modern conveniences that make life safer, easier, and more efficient, then he or she is hardly in a position to criticize." LOVE IT!!!!!!!

    "The easy way out"

I was the same way. No matter how hard I tried I always gave in to my hunger and in a bad way. I would feel nauseous when I was hungry, I would get headaches and I was miserable so I would give in and then binge to make the pain go away! I needed this surgery desperately. My body was no longer sending me full signals soon enough and always became hungry again not long after I just are. Which I did to myself of years of over eating. I knew I needed that portion of my stomach removed. I needed the restriction and the hunger hormone to be reduced in order to ever get a grip on my weight. Now I have total control and it's beyond amazing to feel free of the hold that food had on my life. I have no regrets :-)

Where are all my May Sleevers?

I was sleeved on May 8th. I weighed 216 day of surgery. Now today I am happy to say I am 180, can't wait to get through the 170s!!! 36lbs since surgery and 51 lbs since preop. I have no nausea or vomiting at a all. I get to have raw veggies next week which is great I'm curious to see how a salad sits with me. But as for meat and all other food I have no problems. I struggle to drink 64 oz a day but I have never drank that much so it's still hard. I do get the protein in and the premiere protein shakes help me with that. I love the chewable Bariatric fusion berry vitamins they sit well. I had a rough recovery and I was in the hospital 8 days and had to go in for a second surgery but it was all with it for how I feel today. Good luck to you all!

    Help!

You are going to be fine :-) I literally felt like so was killing myself once I got home from the hospital an wanted absolutely nothing to do with food or drinking. It was a chore for sure to drink and do anything. I cried a few times myself and wondered if I made a huge mistake. I was getting dehydrated because I couldn't drink much or just didn't want it. But I pushed through and did what I could. I was role for the first 2 weeks to not even stress about the protein it's basically impossible that early to get it all in cuz you are healing and swollen. Just rest and try your best to stay hydrated. I promise at 4 weeks it's a turning point for most. It was for me. Once I got passed purée food it was even better. Hang in tree and take it one day at a time one day I promise you will feel " normal" again.

    HAIR!

There is nothing you can do to stop it. It's going to happen. But it does stop. And it grows back. I have thick hair thank god but I'm losing a ton in the shower and when I brush. I went through it even with the band surgery back in 2009. But it did stop eventually after a 3-6 months.
  20. Before pic was me at my highest weight 241. The after is not the most recent I have but it's close lol I haven't taken any recent pics. I believe I'm in the 194 range in the photo. But today I am officially down to 181. That's 35 gone since surgery and 50 total!!!!!
  21. I am 9 lbs away from 174. 174 is the lowest number I got down to in my adult life and that is when I had the band. But it didn't happen because of the band. Now with the sleeve things are going great!! But mentally I feel like I will never get lower than the 174 or know what it's like to be a 14 or a 12 or dare I say in a single digit. Last time I was a single digit was 5th grade. I'm ready to be a 14. I'm ready to e a 12. I feel like I have jumped from a 16 all the way to a 24 both ways multiple times in the past 15yrs. I'm ready to leave those numbers behind me for good and feel something different. I just pray and hope it happens.

For me I still could care less about food. I eat cuz I have to. Some days I feel hunger a little other days food turns me off.
