My pet peeve is when I read someone complaining about other people complaining...
So, you are saying you are your own pet peeve?
-
BTW, what you are experiencing is referred to as the 3 week stall. Most sleevers experience it.

Look at Butter the Bean's profile. There is an article in his signature that will help you a lot.

Don't sweat it. Just focus on getting all your liquids in. You are only 5 days out now, at this point your capacity is increasing daily. Just remember, just because you are allowed to progress to the next stage doesn't mean you have to. My standard advice is don't even think about Protein till you are meeting hydration goals. Then add as you are able. You'll be meeting both goals before you know it.

Another satisfied customer here.
I was sleeved May 23rd. Gotta say, you've made a great decision. I don't believe there is a better surgeon out their at any price. And I know that Trish is the best coordinator hands down.

Before buying any "miracle" products please research them.
Are their claims realistic?
What is required to make the product work?
What is their rating with the BBB?
What does "The Rip Off Report" say?
Is anybody that doesn't have the potential to benefit financially "crowing" about it?
Be very cautious when MLM is involved. If a product is really that good, why does it need to pay its customers to endorse it?

What about the New Whey Protein tubes with 42g of protein... they claim to have the "good" Protein in it... http://www.dietdirect.com/ids-new-whey-42.html
Unfortunately No. They are predominately collagen protein. They contain a minuscule amount of whey.
At this point there is only 1 protein shot/ tube on the market that is not garbage. It is named "Yes Whey" they are only available online to my knowledge. But TBH, I have never tried them, but have not come across anyone that says they don't taste horrible.

Forgot to mention that at Walmart they have Protein shots. If you get them really cold it isn't that bad tasting....fruit punch was the best for me. I think they have about 27 grams Protein in them. They are easier to get down then the shakes. I used them to make up the difference when I couldn't handle drinking any more shakes.< /div>Unfortunately these Protein Shots are useless. They are made with collagen protein(aka gelatin). They cannot be absorbed by the human body.
Sorry to be so blunt about this, but I want to be completely clear. These so called protein shots should be removed from the market because they misrepresented their product by suggesting that it can provide you with your much needed protein, which it cannot. These shots IMO do more harm than good. The harm I am referring to is tricking people into believing they are nourishing their bodies when they are not.

I had my VSG 8 days ago. I'm forcing in my Water intake but I haven't had any Protein shakes yet? I haven't had more than 200 calories per day. I'm sure that'll increase w/ time. My concern is I haven't been able to drink any Protein Shakes so my Protein intake is ZERO! Is this going to stunt my weight loss? Not exactly. The lack of protein will cause your body to get the amino acids it needs by breaking down muscle tissue that is already on your body. So initially you will actually appear to lose weight faster than you really are. Once you are getting your protein in your body will naturally go about restoring the muscle Fiber it was "borrowing" from which at that time your loss will appear to slow down, but you will still be losing inches.
This is nothing to be alarmed about but it is incentive to get your hydration in & start adding some protein relatively soon. As always, hydration is priority #1. But as soon as you are getting 60oz/day of liquids then start converting some of those liquids into protein supplements.
This thread has been interesting read. Ladies' date=' the girls will eventually head south as you age. I'm 49 and the girls are heading south no matter what the brain tells them...they are just not listening. So the brain has made a decision that once the body has reached goal weight and maintain for at least 6 months, then the body is getting a mommy makeover. I'm tired of the D cup and would like to be a B cup. It would be nice not to have to wear these huge 'over the shoulder boulder holders'. Anyways, the hubby had the right answer when I told him. He said 'more than a mouth full is a waste' [/quote']And, more than a handful, you risk a sprained tongue.
Haha!!! Ha...ha..?
Wait you're joking right? Of course you are!!!!
Right?
Umm, yeah, it was a joke.... That's the ticket.
You don't want to eat dog, it tastes like it smells. & it's really greasy.
Does the Ninja heat Soup?Ummm, no. The Vitamix & the Ninja are both great devices, but they do operate differently.
The Vitamix depends on an uber fast & powerful motor to completely liquify whatever is put in it. This design uses a lot of energy & friction which are converted to heat
The Ninja utilizes a proprietary blade design, it does not spin as fast as the Vitamix & therefore does not create the heat.
I can tell you the Vitamix does make a better smoothie, & will last longer. But unless you plan on making smoothies everyday you have to decide if you can justify a 500 blender
Hi
not sure if this post is supper old and ur already sleeved but if Dr. Almanza does trn surherys per day 5 days a week and peoe complain he does to many. I was surprised when I got here beacuse of how many people were here for surgery and non were on this board! Idk
AshleySkinnyer PortlandOR
You have to understand that Dr. Almanza provides a service at the lowest price. That in itself is going to attract a lot of people. Many people are willing to endure many inconveniences & overlook many imperfections to save a few bucks.
An extra $1000 to some is a very considerable burden. So I can assure you he will never suffer from a lack of patients.
I have yet to see anybody say that he is an incompetent surgeon, the complaints are more about lack of service, discomfort with the environment, and the facilities being perceived as inadequate.
If you come to Murfreesboro' date=' and have time, I go to a great bootcamp three nights a week. Would love for you to come and try it![/quote']The 'boro is home. I was born there & Mom & her side of the family live there. I just can't go to Toot's anymore.
I'm all over the chia seeds' date=' ASAP! Love them![/quote']
Ha ha. I forget, you've been here so long, you were a vet before even getting sleeved.
It's still too early for you, but once you reach 6 weeks remember "chia seed".
Where's Butter the Bean?
You know what also sounds like a lot?
ALMOST 80lbs GONE!!!!
Dude, you are doing great. Congtats!!
I did the obligatory flash... Just in case... Would hate to miss your bday
Damn. I missed it. I think I need to make a sign like that. Only thing is I'd leave it there 24-6-365.
Eating "Normal" 10 months post op

I see people always wondering if they will ever eat "normal" again.
Well, here I sit 10 months post-op at T.G.I.Friday's. I ordered the chipotle yucatan salad. This is what's left
Granted I did eat a bit more than I should have, but not so much that I feel the need to expel any.
