That Fat Is Melting Off
O.T.R. sleever replied to njsleeve's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thats great! The fist 3-4 weeks is typically the fastest loss, then it tapers off usually a couple months out it gets down to a few lbs a week. -
What Do You Think? Letter Of Medical Necessity
O.T.R. sleever replied to Ready4success's topic in Insurance & Financing
If she will provide the recommendation for the sleeve then let her do her thing. If she tries pushing the Lapland you can easily point out the huge failure rate of the band along with the success rate of sleeving. Not to mention, how many band to sleeve revisions are being done, I for one dont want to set myself up for a second surgery. And on top of this I wouldn't want the foreign object in my body, nor would I want to deal with the ongoing hassle & cost of maintaining the band. -

Am I Able Too?
O.T.R. sleever replied to ThinnerTiff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since I am not familiar with your weight loss goals, I will stay on the safe sides agree w/your hubby. The way I see it here is tattoos are permanent. Don't take any chances on putting something on you're body that you might regret. Besides, it would make a great trophy & would create a very positive memory if it were tied to an accomplishment, like reaching a certain goal weight. -
Protein Powders Smell Like Vomit! Help!
O.T.R. sleever replied to meadowesky's topic in Food and Nutrition
I can't help much with changing the smell (unless you use a different type of protien). But you might try using a sealed water bottle with a straw. This way you're not really smelling it. -
New Here... Hoping To Get Sleeved In 6 Months
O.T.R. sleever replied to StrongMommy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Only real advice I have is ask questions, every question that enters your mind. When you stumble, get back up and remind yourself of your motivation. Make sure you find an accountability partner, then be completely honest with them And visit this forum often. The success stories will keep you motivated, & the problems posted will keep your expectations reasonable. -

Will Surgery Make Me Uninsurable?
O.T.R. sleever replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you need to buy health insurance on the open market, I recomend joining your farm bureau. They have group policies available. To their members. -
The unfortunate reality of weight loss is that you will lose weight in the reverse order you gain it. Most women gain first in their thighs & butt area, so that will be the last place to lose from. Men tend to lose their guts last. You will lose in you're extremities first then it willwork in toward your problem areas.

March And April Sleevers How Are You Doing? What Are You Really Eating? (Confessions)
O.T.R. sleever replied to Anewlifeforme23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are plenty of ways to get all your nourishment. It might not be the most enjoyable but things like blackstrap molasses are great. My opinion, keep working with your NUT, but I would also consult a naturalist. There are tons of ways to get what you need healthfully. -
Unflavored Unjury Protein . . ?
O.T.R. sleever replied to JenniJune's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Unjury unflavored taste a bit like milk. It mixes really well. I actually use it tocut the strawberry sorbet as it is too sweet for me. -
Most sleeves done in the US have very short hospital stays. Many have even reported being released same day as the surgury.

Sleeved Yesterday!
O.T.R. sleever replied to goofycathy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It could be a dyed liquid that you swallow that they look for in your drain (good result is that none shows). Or there is also when you swallow some really bad tasting stuff and you watch it travel through your esophagus into your stomach an then into your intestine. While you are watching you could also see if it goes where it's not suppose to go(a leak) -
Unjury...yay Or Nay?
O.T.R. sleever replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to agree wit everyone Unjury chicken soup is really good. It taste kinda like chicken ramen. There chocolate splendor is really good mixed in soymilk, the strawberry sorbet is a bit too sweet for me however. But then again I've never cared for anything very sweet -
