I Propose We Start A Thread For June Sleevers That.....

This seems to support the idea that a "stall" is more likely a period of time when your body is adding muscle while losing fat, rather than asking a break & adjusting. -
10 Days Out And I Can't Eat As Much As I Did In The Recovery Room
O.T.R. sleever replied to BigD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My best guess is that while in the hospital you had I.V. Anti-inflamitories. These kept the swelling of you're stomach to a minimum. Now that you are out and a few days have past those meds have worn off & your stomach has swollen, thus creating the tighter restriction -
Surgey In 5 Days :-0
O.T.R. sleever replied to phillygirl8133's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last minute jitters are totally normal for everybody except Philadelphians. Philly peeps ain't scared of nothin' But seriously, most ppl have concerns as the surgery draws near. Most ppl find it very difficult to stay on their pre-op diet. My standard advice is to write down all the things that your weight keeps you frm doing or makes more difficult. Also write down any problems you have due to excess weight. Do the same with where you will be in 10 years w/o surgery and then with. Keep that list handy then when you start wondering if you are doing the right thing look at the list. When reality stares you back in the face the emotional reaction will fade. -

Cancelled Surgery :(
O.T.R. sleever replied to Ooohtobeskinny's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry to hear about this hurdle in your path. I too had to postpone my surgery due to an accident that put me out of work for a time. These things usually have a way of working themselves out. You are doing the right thing by not making a big deal of it to your husband. He just took a huge kick in the teeth. he needs you to remind him that he is a good provider. Keep positive, your attitude will directly affect his. There is a better job out there waiting on him, or maybe this is time for him to strike out on his own, and make one of his hobbies a business. If he hasn't yet I would suggest he reads the book "48 days to the work you love". This could turn into the greatest opportunity he has ever had. -
Question Everyone?
O.T.R. sleever replied to DIRTYMESKIN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first couple of weeks I wanted a Five Guys burger & Popeyes chicken. I gave in and bought one chicken tender, it took me two sittings to eat it. That cure my cravings, it wasn't nearly as good as I rememember it being. Now food is fuel. Nothing more. I can say, chewing has made me much more aware of texture. -

I would highly recomend getting an Iolite vaporizer if you plan on using with any regularity. It eliminates the smoke & that all to distinctive smell. It also will allow you to use much less product

2 Month Stall!? Really?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Blugirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best explanation I've been able to find on the first stall is: During the first couple weeks after surgery you are not getting much protien, so your body actually consumes some of your bodys muscle to fuel itself. This also helps to explain the rapid weight loss during the first couple weeks. Then somewhere around the third week you start consuming more protien, at this point your body starts rebuilding the muscle it has lost. You are still losing fat, but the muscle you are regaining ofsets the weightloss. This is why you are better measuring your progress with a tape measure rather than a scale. -

Update On Patrick
O.T.R. sleever replied to Patrick Curl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Outstanding, I can say, so far my bigger problem is remembering to eat. This sleeve really does make this so much more possible. Willpower isn't as big of an issue. Great to see everything going well for you. -

Food Question

Welcome -
Caffeine is a diuretic, it also causes dehydration. I won't go as far as to say its not allowed, but if you drink that 16oz Monster be prepared to drink an additional 32oz of Water to replace what it strips.

Caffeine is really bad on this one.

I Feel Like I Am Eating Too Much
O.T.R. sleever replied to missmachine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If we are talking celery here, there is a reason, celery is mostly Water, so most of it passes straight through to your intestine. If you are not experiencing problems with celery I wouldn't worry about quantity (celery is a negative calorie food). But another thing to consider is that it is nutritionally void. -
