Rating Protein Shakes
O.T.R. sleever replied to morswestford's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
The regular shakes look fine. I wouldn't touch their vegan shakes, best I can tell, they don't have all the ammino acids you need. Now I'll tell you why there is no way in the world I would buy from them. This is a MLM hustle. The product is way overpriced $120 for enough to make 30 shakes. Caveat emptor, to many companies jump into this market with huge promises, claiming to give you the world in a glass. TBH, I don't believe this can be nearly as beneficial as they claim. And if it were, they wouldn't be marketing it via MLM. People would be beating a path to their door without them having to pay down lines. If you do decide to buy it don't be surprised when they try to make you a "coach" and offer you a "great earning opportunity" along with discounted product -
Actually, now that I think about it, I think that was a Greys Anatomy episode. I'm addicted to that one too.

O.T.R. sleever replied to flipdmx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nestlé Nutrition online offers "Carnation Instant Breakfast VHC" these are not sold in stores, but are great for weight gain. They are 8oz shakes and are 560 calories. So, 3 of these will add almost 1700calories to your diet. -
Well' date=' you are female.......[looks around for flying shoes'] But really, I think you are doing fine. We all have our concerns. And I completely understand being leary of what you can't control. I don't think waking up during surgery is anything to worry about. Quit watching House, it's not real(not like I could stop)

Full Liquids Fill Me Up- How Do You Get All Protein In?
O.T.R. sleever replied to jennrus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looks like I'm gonna be the odd man out in this one, I would love to see you get all your protien in, but hydration is priority #1. You are still healing your stomach is still swollen, asthe swelling goes down, this will all get easier, but for now, Water is your best friend. If you have to give up some protien to get more water, do it. Just in case I wasn't clear, drink water. -
My Food Funeral.
O.T.R. sleever replied to kimberlee1235's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't have time to order online? That's a new one to me. I hope the premier nutrition works out for you. They are more convenient, being RTD and all. Just so you know though the major difference between premier & Unjury is that Unjury uses a much higher quality protien. 100% isolated whey. Where Premier uses whey and whey concentrate. Both are very good, but the Unjury is more readily available to your digestive system. God luck. -
Any Advice On How To Quit Smoking?
O.T.R. sleever replied to mommybo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never really been a smoker, so I cant really speak from experience. What I can say by looking at statistical evidence and talking to my dad(he smoked for 21 years). It takes sheer frustration, disgust, fear, or willpower. You've gotta draw that line in the sand & take your life back. Weening yourself off simply doesn't work. My dad even now, 23 years smoke free, says that there is the occasional temptation(usually in stressful moments). But he knows that if he lights up, he'll have to start all over again. It's just not worth it. You are making a choice to take your life back with this surgery. Are you willing to only control part of your life? I hope not. TAKE IT ALL BACK! This is your life. You are in control. You can do this. Don't be a slave to addictions any more. Keep in mind, we are here to help you, if you get tempted, come here and tell us, we understand temptation. If you fall, come here, we have all fallen. And remember falling does not equal failure, not getting back up is when you've failed. -
Advancing Post Op Diet Too Quickly?
O.T.R. sleever replied to zack515's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
The problem here is that your stomach is still basicly numb. You likely won't feel anything till its too late. You are only 5 days out, scrambled eggs aren't till stage 3(for most of us) and the likelihood is @ 5 days your prescribed diet still has you in stage 1(clear liquids). Thats not exactly bending a rule, that's pretty much total disregard. Don't get me wrong, I am a rebellious type and a risk taker. I accelerated through my phases faster than I was supposed to. But keep in mind, that your saple line won't be healed till 6weeks post-op, and any chances you take up to that point have a signifigantly higher level of risk I don't know why you went to mexico, whether it was just easier to self pay than to fight the insurance co, or maybe like me, you don't have insurance. Here s something to factor into he equation. Can you afford an emergency surgery & ER bill. Even if the answer is yes, is it really worth it for an egg? BTW at 3 weeks out, when I tried eggs, I still couldn't eat a whole one. I know this is not easy, you've gotta be strong. It takes so much more strength to stick with he plan. -
Your sleeve is not stretched, it is simply healed. As far as it working, it never has, you were working it. Your sleeve is just a tool, if you don't use the tool it can't help you. It looks to me like you already know why you are not losing, it's completely up to you. You can use your tool and your self dicipline to lose more. Or you can eat around the sleeves limitations and fall back into the old way of life.

My Food Funeral.
O.T.R. sleever replied to kimberlee1235's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yeah, don't buy too much of anything right yet, not only might you find you don't like it, but even if you do like it now,you might not after surgery. Another shake to try is Chike. I only like their banana & their chocolate favors. But I do like those a lot. And their made in Texas. -
I would. But I'm not a doctor, so I wouldn't recommend taking medical advice from me.

I Have A Hemorrhoid!
O.T.R. sleever replied to missmachine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Preparation H and if it's outside, push it back in. It'll minimize the pain while the medication reduces the swelling. Wish I had something better, but that pretty much it. -
Err, umm, I never quit drinking pineapple juice. The fruit I was having at about 1month. But, I was on full foods at 1month. Word of caution, pineapple has a fair amount of acitdity. So consider it like you would citrus.

I feel ya there, I can say, the only thing that has change for the worse is breath. I can't brush enough.

Only if you're not the same person that's in you're YouTube videos.

Ummm, what was I gonna say?

From what I've been told, YES, I'm not allowed to stop eating and drinking pineapple. BTW, I do find it odd that most posts in this thread are from women.

What Are You Looking Forward To?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Remodeling.Me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Knee surgery!!! I've been walking with a slight limp for about 5 years now due to soft tissue damage in my right knee. Since I am self pay, I've refused to spring for he surgery because I knew that being dramatically overweight I would likely not heal well, or would re-injure. So, when I get to goal, I'm getting my knee fixed. -

Protein Pills Or Shots?
O.T.R. sleever replied to vikkic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you want a Protein shot, this is the only one I have ever seen that is even worth trying. Everything else(that I've seen) contains collagen/hydrolized Gelatin. https://www1.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog/group/77102/ This is not a recommendation as I have not personally tried it. But it's the only shot that I've seen that I would try. -
I've found it's best to medicate my frustration at the perfumer/cologne counter.

Protein Pills Or Shots?
O.T.R. sleever replied to vikkic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be cautious with protien shots. Almost all of them are garbage. Look at the ingredients, if it lists collagen, don't buy it. Your body cannot digest collagen proteins. -
Do they count as crackers? I don't know. But I can say there is no way in the world I'd be eating them. That's a lot of carbs. Do tou have carb guidelines?
