    Paleo Diet!

This is really a great lifestyle change,IF, you can stick to it. My wife follows the Daniel diet which is very similar. And she is much healthier, I have noticed lately however she has been slipping from the diet. She said recently that she is going to redid ate herself to it. I hope she does, she is a much better person to be around when she is improving her health. Just confuse the Daniel diet with the Daniel fast.

    Silly Question

This tells me that she is concerned about life after surgery, the social implications that come along with it, living lifestyle that is foreign to her. The brutal reality is..... This is a huge change for most of us. Going out to a restaurant will no longer be the #1 choice for us for socialazition. Coming from a life that has revolved around food, it's hard to imagine life being fun without food playing a major part. But the reality is, life can be so much better. Normal is just a state of mind. Really, we are all kinda peculiar, it just depends on who's eyes you are looking through.

    Potassium

I haven't had this problem yet, but, I do have a recommendation. Try drinking coconut water. It has a ton of potassium, it's low calorie & really helps hydration.

    Silly Question

This all depends on how you define "normal". If "normal" means being able to shove 1500 calories down your throat in one sitting or always getting the biggest size popcorn at he theater. Or maybe "normal" is being winded after climbing 1 flight of stairs. Then NO, Thank God, I will never feel "normal" again I'm gonna be like my weirdo friends that actually climb mountains for recreation. You know, those crazy people that don't need to grab a candy bar & a soda every time the put gas in their car. Those oddballs that can walk by a box of donuts and not grab one(or 2 or 3 or 4). What about those nut jobs out there on Seadoos jumping waves and having fun. Nah, in a country where 65% of the population are overweight, and over 1/2 of those are obese(38% of the population), I for one do NOT want to be normal. Put me with the 35% minority, because that is where I'm heading. Excuse me for putting it so bluntly, but "normal" sucks.
  11. I just checked out the Health Wise website. They do have several products that might be. Worth trying. They also have a few that list hydrolized gelatin as their protien source. Hydrolized gelatin is also known as collagen, and is not useful to our bodies. I really do gotta hand it to them, their website is very easy to navigate, and they put everything right up front so you don't have to search around for info. I wish more supplement companies would do this. I think I might be ordering a few of their fruit smoothies.

It's best to get the Nectar samples straight from Syntrax. Then if you like it Bariatric Choice has the best price I've found.

    Cucumbers & Tomatoes

I haven't had any problems with them. Been drinking spicy hot V8 since full liquids. Also I have cucumber in my shrimp cocktail. & I use a ton of tomatoe based sauces. One of my faves right now is marinnera meat sauce made w/ Italian seasoned turkey meat.
  18. This is almost painful to me, because I just can't stand recommending anybody stay with a MLM. But out of the two you listed the Meleluca is by far the better. The other is mostly an unbalanced vegetable protien that is so incomplete that your bodies benefit would be less than just drinking a glass of milk. I am in no way saying that Meleluca's product is good. But the other would just be a complete waste.
  19. Well, I'm usually the "suck it up and deal with it" type. But even I have to say 0 calories for a week sounds impossible.
  20. I was told that once fully healed my stomach capacity will be 8-10oz. Now say we double that size, an I have a stomach that is 16-20oz. That's a pound of food or more. I can pack a lot of calories into a pound of food. Plus with that kind of volume I probably wouldn't watch my diet nearly as well. I mean, heck I've got plenty of room why not order that Bloomin' Onion we can share it, I'll just have the Victoria's filet instead of the Melbourne & I'll share a chocolate Thunder from Down Under. Wait, no way I just ate over 1200calories!!!! That's 1/2 what I use to eat, and I didn't drink anything. That damn surgeon left too much stomach. I think I'm gonna sue him for malpractice. Everybody knows that the sleeve is not supposed to be this big.
