Average Amount Of Protein In A Snack
O.T.R. sleever replied to Des0520's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't worry about each individual snack. My general rules are 2.5g of protien per 1g of carb. Or 1g protien per 10calories. So if I eat something that is protien deficient I know I gotta make it up somewhere else. -
Making It Through The Shakes.

Next to the concentrated frozen orange juice. -
I think I want VST business cards with my Screen name on them so I can just hand them to people that ask. That way I can just hand them one & say this will explain everything. I guess that means I would have to finish filling out my profile though.

Well, I listen to pretty much anything except most Jazz & Opera. Most often it's Hard rock/Metal/Alt (Metallica,Ozzy,Pearl Jam, Korn, NIN,Godsmack,AC/DC,Disturbed, Drop Kick Murpys) 80's & 90's Rap/Hip Hop (Ice T, NWA, Eminem, LL Cool J, DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, Warren G, Tupac, Cypress Hill) 70's - current Country (Hank Jr, Alabama, George Jones, Aaron Tippen, Josh Turner, Pretty much anything except the Dixie Chicks) I bet this doesn't help much. I can say I use Bose for everything in my house except the theater system which is Boston Acoustic, and my truck is all Infinity Kappa.

Long-Term Vsg: When Did You Feel Like Capacity Stabilized/"stopped Growing"?

The food police are on their way. -
I wouldn't mind in ear, if I could get them to stay put. I know plant tonics makes a set of Bluetooth earphones called backbeats, but he reviews are all so inconsistent. I do love Bose quality.

Screw It! I'm Ready For This!
O.T.R. sleever replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dana, I love almost everything you are saying here this is a huge step forward in your life. I'll say it's the best decision I've made aside fom marrying my wife & having my daughters. The only thing I beg you to reconsider is going to your 401K for plastics. The potential risk to your future there is huge, besides youve got about 2 years after your surgery that your skin will still be shrinking. I think you could put together a plan to cash flow the surgeries you will need/want. You've done such a great job asking questions & gaining perspectives for this journey, all I ask is that you continue to explore and find the best options for your financial future also. -
How Easy Is It To Stretch Your Sleeve?
O.T.R. sleever replied to melbelinc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your sleeve is almost impossible to stretch. It would take a ton of abuse to do this. You say you are consuming a lot. Can you give an example of what a typical days consumption is? Do you know your caloric/carb/protein/water intake is? -
The only thing that a tummy tuck addresses as far as muscles go is a condition called Diastisis Recti. This is the separation of the abdominal muscles. The good news here is this condition is completely reversible through light exercise. Simply do a google search on it. It is most common in women after pregnancy. If you have this separation just remember not to work too hard on your abs till you have corrected the condition.

When I woke up from anestisia I had some nausea for about an hour before the I.V. meds kicked in. I experienced absolutely no pain at all. I did have a bit of soreness at the incision he removed my stomach from. And I only felt that when I twisted my torso. I can really say this has been so much easier than I expected.

Strange Question Lol.
O.T.R. sleever replied to xlr8ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One more thing to consider, the bougie is just a guide. Different surgeons have different techniques. Surgeon A may use a 32 bougie and staple 1/2" from it, whereas surgeon B may use a 40 and staple tightly against it. This shows where 2 different bougie sizes could very easily create the same diameter sleeve. Or even a larger sleeve with a smaller bougie. -
Ely, I definately understand where you are coming from. You really need to do a self analysis. Are you ready for a real life change? This is not easy, I'm sure you already know that. But then again being 25yo & 280lb is no walk in he park either. Have you done everything you can reasonably do to lose the weight w/o surgery? Are you ready to fight the battle that your mind will likely put you through? I can say, the absolute last thing I want to do is talk you out of this. I only have 2regrets about this surgery. 1 letting myself go to the point that I needed it. 2 not doing it sooner. You are 25yo and you have the opportunity before you to dramatically improve the rest of your life. I hope you take it, but I also hope you prepare yourself for the battle that lies ahead. Don't look back at 35 or 40 with another 100lbs added on and regret not taking his opportunity to get your life back.

Joplin, Mo Sleevers?
O.T.R. sleever replied to PiggyPantsPaige's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm in Springfield. Kinda crazy, but I couldn't even find a surgeon near me that even does sleeves. So I kinda think that there probably aren't too many people in this area that have them. -

It is the tool they place in your stomach during surgery to form your new stomach. -
Ninja, Bullet, Blender Or Food Processor?
O.T.R. sleever replied to ladiJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, Dayum, now I need one if those. The green one would would go great with my truck. -
First off, if you weighed 200lbs but were 10% body fat, your sleep apnea would still be gone. The sleep apnea is caused bu the fat around your neck putting pressure on you're soft pallet thus closing off your airway. I can't really contribute much on the implant topic, because I have a really hard time with foreign materials in the human body for cosmetic purposes. I've seen too many implants that have shifted and have ended up leaving a lop sided butt cheek, or pec. The good news is your body has a memory, and once you've been there before, it will be easier to regain your athletic body than it was to build it the first time.

Ninja, Bullet, Blender Or Food Processor?
O.T.R. sleever replied to ladiJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you need a blender, I definately recomend the Ninja. Got one at Sam's Club for the wife a couple months ago, & I swear the thing never gets turned off. If you just wanting it for shakes and such, then a mini blender (bullet) are very handy. -
Well, to be honest, I don't weigh myself often enough to notice a stall. You are doing great with the water, but you need to basicly double your protien intake. Protein is what your body is using for fuel now, and it helps to maintain lean muscle. Which also helps burn fat. Keep in mind stress affects weightloss & obsessively scaling creates stress.

Increasing water & exercising are almost always a good thing. How much water & Protein are you getting?

Vitamins Any Suggestions
O.T.R. sleever replied to lowe1961's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
That really depends on your ability to swallow at this point. My daily vitamins now are horse pills, and I've been on these since the 6 week mark. -
Girly Stuff In Mexico
O.T.R. sleever replied to damanda's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I know Dr. Ponce de Leon in TJ requires nothing on fingernails. Also as soon as you can leave the hospital, Trish gets all the ladies mani/pedi. I seem to remember something about Dr. Kelly doing the same.
