Is It Normally To Be In A Bad Moid On Day 9 Of Pre Op Diet
O.T.R. sleever replied to stalissa01's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yuppers quite normal. Unfortunately though this moodiness is not going away anytime soon. You are gonna have to work on controlling it, and I would also advise explaining to your husband & kids why you are this way, so that they understand & know what to expect. Now so that you understand, I'll break it down the short way. Estrogen is stored in fat cells, You are burning fat cells at an abnormally high rate Burning fat cells release their estrogen stores into the blood stream So, now you are being bombarded with massive amounts of estrogen. Can you say moody, and short tempered?....... I new you could. So now you can break it down to hubby and tell him that the price he's gotta pay to have a sexy thin wife, is to deal with your moodiness till the weight is gone. After that you can't blame it on the estrogen released from fat anymore. -
When Can We Drink Coffee Again?
O.T.R. sleever replied to jennrus's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Click makes a proteined coffee. I don't like the taste of coffee so I really don't know much about it. You might check their website though. -
Super Saturday Weigh In
O.T.R. sleever replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
09/08/12 Well looks like I skipped a week, so I am reporting a 2week loss of 7lbs. Was kinda hoping I would get to Onderland before the loss slowed down, but I'm sure I will survive waiting an extra week or 2 to reach that goal. The good news is I am now 210lbs. And tbh, I'm looking pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. The only thing on me now that I'm truly disgusted with is my double chin. But, meh, it's just a matter of time. -
Opinions on this vary quite a bit around here. I for one ate like a horse till I was required to stop for my pre-op diet. I don't know that it hurt or helped, but I do know that. By the time surgery came around I was already pretty sick of food in general.

So you've chosen to get the sleeve? Or sleeve Plication? They are definately different. I can say, with the sleeve you can prettymuch lose whatever amount you want. And yes, you can arrest or even reverse weight loss by adding more calories to your diet. And yes, your husband is partially correct about the skin. With a sleeve you will likely lose weight after than your skin can keep up with, but that is temporary, though many sleevers reach goal weights in under a year your skin will continue to shrink for up to 2 years, so it can catch up. You are much less likely to be left with any extra skin when all is said and done.

Tingling In Extremities

It really is different for everybody. I had a bit of ground beef at about 4 weeks with no problem. Just remember red meat is one of the hardest things for the human stomach to digest. So I'd recommend taking it slow. And also, I've found I really don't desire red meats anymore.

Yeah, if you're gonna do Muscle Milk, make sure it's the light version.

The New Whey Protein 3.8 Shoot
O.T.R. sleever replied to ladiecre's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
That I am aware of there is only one protein shot on the market that does not use collagen/gelatin as their protein source. It is called "Yes Whey" and is only available through Bariatric Advantage at this time. -
Where do you get a vitamix for under $300?

Tingling In Extremities
O.T.R. sleever replied to Pgk854's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That seems really odd, everything I've ever read says that any excess b-12 would be flushed quickly through the urinary tract. I'm might should back of mine a bit. -
Check out a product called Whey Low. It a natural sweetner that is made from milk sugars & fruit sugars. They guarantee it to taste exactly like sugar, but only has 1/4 the calories. I haven't tried it yet but the only bad reviews I could find on it were from people that never tried it.

Cold All The Time?
O.T.R. sleever replied to mkbennett00's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't forget, fat is an insulator. You are losing your insulation and temps are dropping, so you will feel it more. I'm thinking I won't be running around in shorts & t-shirts in February next year. -
I can't dissagree that the vitamix is a great blender. My mom has one. But the criteria here was small & under $60. The vitamix is not small, and $500.00 is a far cry from $60.

I've yet to hear from anybody that didn't like the Chike chocolate or banana. Crystal light is a bit sweet for me to. That is why I mix 1 packet into a 1L bottle instead of 0.5L

Where Do You Shop? Specifically: Online.
O.T.R. sleever replied to AliciaA122's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
If you can afford to make a larger purchase I highly recomend Bariatric Choice the more you spend the bigger the discount. Up to 20% off their prices which are already pretty good -
Help With Lactaid And Splenda.
O.T.R. sleever replied to Imjustmee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go to your local health food store and buy a bottle of stevia extract drops. Use these to sweeten your tea. It has a funky side flavor to it but just like the artificial junk, you will get use to it. But seriously just add it a couple drops at a time. Stevia extract is like 100x sweeter than sugar, it really doesn't take much. -
My surgery was on May 23rd this year. My start weight was 289lbs and I am currently 210. So I've lost 79lbs in 14 weeks. The weight loss was pretty rapid the first couple months and has tapered to 2-3lbs a week for the last 4 weeks. Btw you can sign into VST with the same screen info you use here. They are sister forums.

How Do U Maintain Weight
O.T.R. sleever replied to marie bella1968's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, you increase calorie count. You don't necessarily have to eat more, you can eat different or you can eat the same & add a Meal Replacement shake or two to your diet. -

That is what I was getting. -
My personal recommendation is pretty obvious. I definitely think the sleeve was right for me. Since you haven't decided yet I recommend researching both this site & Vertical Sleeve Talk.
