    Proteinex?

http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-liquids/proteinex-18-16oz-30oz.html Is this the stuff you are talking about? Please look at the first ingredient. It is collagen, this stuff is complete garbage. Your body cannot use it. What is more upsetting is tat doctore are ignorantly recommending this to their patients. The human body is incapable of utilizing collagen Proteins. Don't waste your money. On the PDCAAS collagen comes in at a .08, meaning for evert 1g of collagen Protein you consume, your body will use only 0.08g. Collagen is so bad that it can't even be measured on the P.E.R. protein scale. Even if you drank the whole 30oz bottle (540g protein) your body would only actually absorb 43.2g. So you'd need 2 bottles a day to fill your bodies need for protein.

    Your favorite foods post op?

I'm only 7 months out, but I can say I almost live on salads and Protein supplements. And I love it. 7months without bread, rice, Pasta, potatoes, or fried foods & I can honestly say I don't miss them at all. I do have my weaknesses, I have reacquired a taste for sweets, mostly high end chocolate. But I have also noticed that I like dark chocolate now, whereas pre op I despised it. I have experimented with prettymuch all foods & can honestly say, I really don't desire most of what I use to eat. Never thought I'd like salads, my reaction to salads preop had always been "I'm not a rabbit, I need real food". My how things have changed. I do have the occasional cup of yogurt, or nutrigrain bar, but those really only happen on the run.

    Not Telling People....

Umm, sure it is. We have already proven to ourselves (and everybody else) that we dont have what it takes to stick to the diet & exercise thing on our own. Many of us have tried every other gimmick under the sun to lose weight, and failed. We are food addicts (most of us anyhow). If there were a surgery that could cure alcohol, drug, gambling, or porn addictions would there be any objections to using those surgeries? I think not. We have a weakness when it comes to food. Therefore we NEED help. We need this to be as "easy" as it can be. And let me tell you, after over 6 months with my sleeve, when your stomachs capacity is 6-8oz total, it's pretty damn easy to not eat a 16oz steak, or a whole pizza, or 4 slices of cheesecake. When someone makes the remark "that's the easy way" I have to agree. Last I checked we are always searching out easier ways of doing almost everything. Cars are so much easier than bicycles The Internet is easier than encyclopedias Tractors are easier than a horse & plow Debit cards are easier than writing checks or carrying cash Pre prepared foods are easier than scratch cooking Since when is making something easier a bad thing?

    Protein Shakes

This is kinda tricky. Protein is about 100calories per 20g. Many "protein powders" aren't just protein, many are meal substitutes or weight gainers designed gor high endurance athletes. Also, a very common mistake is that people tend to consume too much at one time. Too often I read people drinking a sake hat has 50g of protein. That is about double the amount that your body can use at one time. So really they are consuming double the necessary calories for the benefit. It's all about reading labels.

    Protein Shakes

The best protein for you is a pure whey protein isolate. Whey concentrates aren't bad either. If you are shopping at The Vitamin Shoppe, I'd highly recomend Nectar® by Syntrax. They even carry individual packets there so you can experiment with flavors before buying a big container of it. I personally like the fuzzy navel, cherry, and truffle flavors.

I hate Food but love fruit!

You really have me torn here. On one hand I want to say Kudos for eating natural. Fruits are great for you, talk about micronutrient rich eating. On the other hand all I can think about is all the sugar you are consuming , and the Protein you are lacking. Let's see if we can work together to round out your diet some. You stated you are at about 400calories a day, so we are plenty good even doubling your caloric intake. First, the first hing that is making me want to scream is the orange juice, talk about high sugars. But really @ your caloric intake you have to be drinking very small amounts. So what I would like to do is cut the O J 50/50 with Water & add a scoop of Nectar® fuzzy navel. (we are adding to the OJ, not cutting it in half) If you do this 2x per day, you willincrease your hydration some & add 40g of protein to your diet(high quality protein at that) Now, are you averse to vegetables? Can we put a salad in there somewhere? Let's use dark greens, none of that iceberg lettuce junk. Dark greens like Kale are goin to be packed with micronutrients & contain a bit of protein too. Do you like ranch dressing? Try this grab a container of plain(non fat) Greek yogurt, some skim milk and a packet powdered ranch mix. Mix them to the flavor strength & consistency you prefer. Also this salad is a great place to throw in a couple ounces of chicken & maybe some cheese. I'm assuming there is a lot of water a.ready included in your day. You didn't mention any, but you also didn't mention being hospitalized due to dehydration either. And just so you know, stalls are completely normal. Honestly, many here don't even count it as a stall till its gone 2weeks. Mine was a doozie I went 7 weeks with no loss at all. Keep your chin up. You'll be fine.
  10. Mich has a lot to say and obviously does no personal research. If she would have just checked the OP's profile then the situation would have been clear. There are obvious signs in her posts that she likes to interject her opinions without knowing the situation. Grandma always warned me about people that have a 100mph mouth & a 20mph mind.
  11. If you are self pay & are willing to travel, you can find a Dr. that will perform tge procedure regardless of BMI.

    Not Telling People....

Honesty is always the best policy. If you choose not to say that's one thing. Bit so many times is see people on this forum trying to figure out what LIE to tell to cover it up. I commend everybody that chooses their integrity over their pride. Btw, if you are ever in a situation that you really feel is too uncomfortable to let someone in on it. Then simply say "I really don't want to say till I am sure it's permanent" Almost everybody understands the YO YO affect. And really over time your confidence level will come up & you won't care if anybody knows. And this way you haven't broken anybodies trust nor do you have to remember which lie you told.

    Sleeping on your side?

I'm a side sleeper. Or at least I was. Now it kinda hurts to sleep on my side because my rib cage digs into the mattress. Poor me having to deal with skinny problems. I wish I were fat again... NOT!!!

    breast options after weight loss

Make sure you understand what they consider "reconstructive" surgery. Breast augmentation is almost always considered elective(except reduction) and therefore is not labeled as reconstructive.
  17. Yes, I don't believe there is a better surgeon. Only nicer facilities (which will cost you more). My opinion, the 3 best surgeons are Dr. Alvarez, Dr. Aceves, & dr. Ponce de leon. If you chose any of those 3 I believe you'd be in the best hands in the world.

    how long do stalls last?

Anywhere from 2 weeks to 4+months. I've only had one, but it lasted 7 weeks.
  19. He is pretty middle of the road in price. IMO he undercharges for his service. His standard fee for a sleeve is $5500

    Sleeve before or after pregnancy?

If you are fertile & plan on conceiving in the next 2years I'd put the sleeve on hold. If you can wait 2 years, or have fertility issues get the sleeve ASAP.
  21. Dr Ponce de leon will do a resleeve if it is beneficial.
  22. I'm confused. If you were sleeved 7months ago, why were you asking for surgeon referrals last month?
