I just went through the same thing with my third fill. My doctor unfilled me .4 cc and sent me for an Upper GI. The reflux is gone, but my Upper GI showed a problem with my esphogus, now I'm scheduled for an EGD. I would go for an unfill and talk to your primary care physician.

Banded 2/19/07 Unbanded 3/2/07 try again?
rdbiles@sbcglob replied to Carrie E's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've never heard of the mini gastric bypass, I need to research this one. I understand your reasons for wanting to return to the surgeon, but I do not agree with your thought process on this one. Because this upsets your family so much to return to this surgeon, I would consider going to another surgeon who has an excellent after care program. You and your family have gone through enough, I'm sure the thought of losing you is in the back of their minds. Go somewhere else, Please! -
Hello Feb bandsters, Second fill to tight removed .3 now have 2.1 cc. I lost 9 lbs with first fill, 2.0. Should have stayed there because with second fill I have only lost 1 lb and it's been three weeks. I have lost 17 lbs since surgery. I definitely haven't dropped the weight as fast as I would like, but the surgeon told me 4 lbs a month is good, now I need to work on getting 3 more pounds off this month.

Water and food in the same time ? harmful or harmless?
rdbiles@sbcglob replied to Pebbles0106's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat and take a few sips of my ice tea during my evening meal. Breakfast and lunch I don't drink during my meal, but I do drink something pretty soon thereafter. -
Andrea, Congratulations on your weight loss! It's so nice when people began noticing, your hard work is finally paying off. I'm so glad you treated yourself to a pedicure, you deserve it!

Yesterday I went in for my second fill. I had a weight loss of 9 lbs. woo hoo! The first fill definitely did the job for me. My first fill was 1.5 cc. but yesterday, he pulled out 2.0 cc. said that the extra .5 was from the flouro right after surgery. He gave me an additional .5 cc and my band is holding 2.5 cc today. I'm on 48 hr. liquid, then move on to food which will definitely test my new restriction.

Zannie, I went to my PCP this week, he confirmed I was depressed and as a fellow bandster he said that he also had his emotional ups and downs. He asked if I wanted to try Celexa and that he would write up a script, but only if I would take it. I'm on my third day and optimum effect is at 30 days. One improvement prior to going to the doctor, I did get motivated to clean my house. I have a lot of sq.ft and I just broke it down into three days, so I wouldn't be so overwhelmed. I also cooked a meal last night.

Anyone Quit Smoking after Lap Band?
rdbiles@sbcglob replied to TRANAM1955's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Tran, I want to quit smoking but my head is not in the right place yet. I met with my pcp this week and he wrote out a prescription for a new drug that will help in fighting the urge to smoke a cigarette. I gave the prescription to my pharmiscist who will keep it on file for a year. The drug is very expensive for 180 days $327 or half of that at 90 days. -

Sophie, I just returned from seeing my doctor and I asked him if I needed a new sleep study, since it had been 3 yrs. He told me I needed to lose 100 lbs before he was ordering another study. My setting is on 8 and has never changed. -

I like my Texas chili, but I think this receipe is worth trying, even if it does have beans! -
Gretchen, Congratulations on your recent weight loss with the third fill, maybe you've just hit your sweet spot. We were banded the same day and I go in for my second fill next week. Post your stats I'd like to see preop weight, present weight and goal weight.

Zannie, I feel the same way, bored and unmotivated, I have not deep cleaned my house since before surgery. I straighten up, but don't feel motivated to clean my house like I did before the surgery. I haven't cooked more than two meals since my surgery. I know I'm tired a lot but most of the time I just feel lazy. I don't know what is wrong with me. I'm making an appointment to see my primary care doctor next week. He also has the lapband, maybe he can give me some insight to resolve this problem. But I'm open to any feedback from the group.

Liz and Mel, I don't think either of you are slow losers, you are doing fine. Let's face it, we have bad days along with the good days. Liz I only like the icing on donuts and cinnamon rolls. I eat the icing and throw away the dough!

Don't throw your Triscuits away! Crush them and use as a topping on something you bake.

Hello everyone and Good Morning, Yesterday I was able to wear a belt again. Today I weighed and I've lost 1-2 lbs depending on which way I lean on the scale. Since my first fill, I'm averaging a loss of one pound a week, my second fill is schedule May 12. Since my fill I can eat almost anything with the exception of french fries; Hamburger steaks require smaller bites. I've been able to curb my sweet tooth with a Designer whey protein shake.
