I am a DOD worker and travel to Japan for TDY. I have yet to travel there since being banded bu I spoke to my surgeon about it and she said she would help me find a reputable surgeon for fills. I'm sure you could do the same.

Same thing happened to me. I had to change insurance. I would talk to your hr and see what your options are.

Don't worry, on day 4 of my preop diet I had a Doritos loco cool ranch taco.... But I did good all the other days

Crunches and a pinch. I freaked out at my first fill, but then I felt like an idiot when it was all done.

I just ate a small steak tonight. Top sirloin, well done and I just chewed. I didn't get stuck at all. I think medium well would have been fine, but anything less than that I don't think it would "crumble" as we'll while chewing. I say do it. Just chew.

I don't have kids, but there are only 3 people who know I was banded, the rest of my family thinks I had an appendectomy. They bought it. Same scars and all

I got the ok to swim las my Friday. So I started Monday. Feels good.

My motto was (and is when I don't want to go) "Fake it until you make it" I just pretended I was motivated and gritted my teeth and went. Now for my morning workout I luckily have my sister and cousin... It's a trifecta of accountability. The only reason we each get up is because we assume the other will. Then we just show up and get it done.

Thanks everyone!!

Pretty useful info!

I keep getting mixed signals about bananas. My family says they are the worst fruit for you, but my theory is, a fruit is a fruit. And I like that it makes me feel full for many hours, and I only ate half. Do you eat bananas regularly? My plan is to eat half a banana in the am around 4:45 before working out to hold me over until my real Breakfast when I get to work which is Greek yogurt.

No question here! Just up early to go get my Zumba on. And my surgeon cleared me to swim so I start on Monday with my sister (who is a swimmer too state competitor this one) so no slacking from me! Have a great day everyone and I saw this saying a few days ago and thought I'd share, "You can't outrun a bad diet."

How long until I can swim? I feel like it's inch a silly question to call the clinic about.

Oh no no, I'm not trying to eat them right now, but Saturday I am cleared to start eating normally. And Easter Sunday is family dinner.... And I haven't had a tortilla in weeks. But I'm trying to pre plan so I don't look like a spaz in front of my family who doesn't know.

I'm Hispanic... And I think I would do better with coping about no flour tortillas if someone can tell me corn tortillas handle well with the band???

Everytime I'm hungry and my stomach growls? I'm 6 days post op and when my stomach growls from hunger it feels like small heart attacks. I hope this goes away or this surgery wasn't worth it.

My strategy for using the scale is weigh daily (before stepping in the shower) but only compare what you weigh today to a month ago never yesterday. The more weight you have to lose the more your weight can fluctuate from day to day.
It's too easy to get caught up on your day to day changes you need to be thinking long term trends.
I never thought about that. It's actually quite brilliant. Thank you for that!

I had surgery almost a week ago, and I know I should be worrying myself with the scale, and it didnt really upset me on Monday when I had gained a pound, but I'm back to losing weight an I was wondering when I should consider this part of my overall weightloss. I assume I might gain some back when I get on mushy foods. Any stories or advice can help. If I do count it... Then I'm down almost 20 lbs since starting my liquid diet!
